announcer: building a better bay area, moving forward, finding solutions, this is abc 7 news. >> deadly shooting in oakland. two people have died from the shooting. we will have the details. good morning. thanks for joining us here we have a lot to get to. let's get a quick look at the weather. lisa: starting out milder. we have cloudy skies across the bay area. in the low 60's. 61 in santa clara. fog is not an issue. anywhere from five to seven

degrees warmer this morning due to the low cloud deck. visibility good in the city. we will work the sunshine back to the coast. 60's and upper 70's in the warmest locations. more fog tonight but of warm up for the weekend. liz: violence continues in oakland. four people were shot in a residential area. the shooting happened between westman parker -- west macarthur boulevard. they treated four victims. two died on the scene and the other two were treated by paramedics. the condition of the two people is unknown. the shooting is currently under investigation. a vigil held for a 12-year-old boy taken off life support after a tragic car crash last month. family members and friends gathered around a memorial last night in antioch where the crash

happened. he recently passed away and will have his organs donated he was walking home from school with his cousins when they were hit by a car that was involved with a crash with another car. developing news, bones discovered in the search for an oakland woman who police it was murdered by her ex-boyfriend. our reporter spoke to the family and brings us the story. reporter: the family has been searching for months for the remains of their daughter alexis. now, there may be a break in the case. >> they found human bones in the area. they did pick him up -- pick them up and sent them for dna. kumasi: volunteers -- reporter: volunteers found the bones in the foothills of the sierra mountains and reported it to the local sheriff's department.

dozens of iranian americans and supporters showed up to union square p protesters have rallied for the third week in a row after the death of a woman who died in custody of the iranian morality police. they display photos of those who have been killed by iranian police forces. in ukraine, troops regain control of the own territory in a battle with russia. russian forces have withdrawn from a once occupied city. the city had been an important site in the russian front line for ground communications and logistics. the russian defense ministry said it withdrew its forces due to the risk of being encircled by ukrainians. despite ukrainians getting back control of some of the territory , ukrainians in the bay area still fear for their families. tara campo spoke with one woman said her family -- camel --

can't foul -- tara campbell spoke with a family. tara: she was watching from her bay area home with bated breath. her parents evacuated city early in the war, leaving behind the family home. >> we did have hope we could come back and retrieve maybe some memories and it is all gone. tara: and any hope of returning anytime soon also gone. >> the city is 80% destroyed. there is no water or electricity . there is probably no way to survive for the winter. tara: as winter fastly approaches, a bay area nonprofit

liz: saturday marked the fifth anniversary of the deadliest shooting at the route 91 harvest festival in las vegas. las vegas police hosted the annual sunrise remembrance ceremony. in 2017, a gunman opened fire on the crowd from the mandalay bay hotel. each year, survivors and relatives of those killed take

part in a ceremony to honor the lives lost. abc news has learned 174 people have died after a soccer match in indonesia turned violent. fans storming the field and clashing with police in riot gear. outside the stadium, at least five police cars were toppled and set on fire. any were trampled and suffocated in what is being called one of the deadliest sporting events in the world. there been previous outbreaks with rivalries with clubs leading to violence. the killing of an 84-year-old thai grandfather has started a movement. ♪ >> the sounds of celebration

surveillance video. >> it is not the first time we have been vandalized and we get openwindows and cars broken into. i have been living here for 21 years. when i moved here, it was a really nice neighborhood. liz: many car owners had cars towed and forced to fix it themselves. anyone who suffered damage is asked to contact alameda police. history made on the supreme court for the first time in its existence, there are four women justices on the bench. this is an official photo. it will also be the first time a majority of justices are women or people of color. the daredevil climber who has been nicknamed the french spider-man scaled one of barcelona's highest buildings

were well below average in santa rosa and looking at more days for fleet week. clouds will take their time but by the afternoon, sunny skies and breezy winds coming back into play. they will pull back and we will see the warmer atmosphere as high-pressure builds in. warmer and drier air headed our way. peak heat around thuray and friday with 'e lale'th rnd's at. into tuesday, upper 80's. the warmth slowly heading our way. into wednesday, a very pleasant afternoon with temperatures coming up, 80's around the bayshore. as for highs today, it looks like a sunny afternoon but it will take time to see the sun. look for 76 in vallejo.

announcer: building a better bay area, moving forward, finding solutions, this is abc 7 news. liz: good morning. let's start with another check of the forecast. it is sweater weather this weekend. lisa: it is not as cold. temperatures have been in the 60's in many locations. 61 downtown. 63 up in novato. it is cloudy everywhere. we will look for the slow afternoon clearing. we are anywhere from three to seven degrees milder from yesterday. gray skies. towards 11:00, upper 60's and sunny in the inland valleys.

temperatures will be below average. upper 60's to near 70 in oakland. upper 70's inland. this will be the coolest day of the work week fog will visit us but will get thinned out and be confined to the coast. we will talk about warmer weather coming up in a few minutes. it has been -- liz: it has been a difficult day for students on a campus in oakland targeted by gunfire. six adults were hurt in the shooting on wednesday oakland police are still searching for suspects. cornell barnard reports. >> i am feeling ok. i do worry about the people who might've been hurt. cornell: he returned to the charter school saturday. he came back to collect his backpack left behind on wednesday when students ran from the school, escorted from police after 30 rounds were fired.

witnesses were able to get a description and license plate number. officers spotted the car and made an arrest after a brief pursuit and a gun was recovered. local police investigating a break-in at home. a thief broke into the downtown shop in july. several items were stolen. the shop stayed closed for the day and in event was canceled. governor gavin newsom has signed into law prohibiting the dna collected by sexual assault victims to identify them for anything else. the new law is a change spurred by a legal battle abc 7 has been following. a rape victim's dna was used by

time is running out for those who need to apply for a passport. michael finney has tips. michael: she has fun memories of her last visit to india. it has been five years since you visited. unfortunately, some she had hoped to see are no longer with us. >> there been a lot of covid deaths that have happened. michael: family is planning a trip for india for an upcoming wedding and catch up with relatives. >> there are senior citizens that are late 80's, early 90's. so it is important for the kids to be able to connect. michael: she is 16 years old. her past trip happened at a much earlier age and is now a distant memory. she is looking forward to creating new ones. >> i was excited because we haven't been there in a long time. meet to be able to see my cousins again and family again would definitely be a great

experience. michael: her passport expired and her parents had to go to passport office to get a new one here and it can take weeks to get an appointment, especially during the summer. assessing time can take another 10 weeks. when 10 weeks became 13, the family became concerned. >> now i am freaking out because we need visas in place and book our tickets. michael: children are most likely the ones that will see the delays. >> they need to be renewed and have both parents present or at least one parent and the other parent has to sign a notarized release. michael: planning to travel internationally on thanksgiving, you are advised to pay the extra $60 to get an expedited passport page you can get one-day shipping for an additional $18.32. those traveling for christmas
