lisa wants to check outside. all right, our stratus deck is deeper this morning. 7:06 is the official sunrise you can see visibility is good because that deck of low clouds is grown so much taller, so that means a cool day as we take it's time as it takes its time revealing the sun. we'll talk about it in detail coming up. thanks lisa. also, i had an emotional ceremony in san francisco this weekend a street is renamed after a thai grandfather kills an attack that many believe sparked a national movement plus the french spider-man added again this time he had company as he scaled a nearly 500 foot building. your brain is an amazing thing. but as you get older, it naturally begins to change, causing a lack of sharpness, or even trouble with recall.

what's being called one of the deadliest sports events in the world. there have been previous outbreaks of trouble that matches in indonesia with strong rivalries between clubs sometimes leading to violence. the killing of an 84 year old ty grandfather in january of 2021 is credited with sparking the movement to stop attacks on asian americans yesterday. there was a dedication the sounds of celebration heard in the anza vista neighborhood saturday are quite a contrast to what happened on these streets more than 600 days ago like so many of us. i will never forget january 8th 2021 when a video showed up on my social media feed of a brutal attack on an asian man in broad

daylight video. i broke then showed 8 year-old visha rottnapati senselessly shoved to the ground and killed the incident left his daughter montana's heartbroken and caused such an uproar many believe that sparked a national movement to end aapi hate montana and her family. grieved and then immediately turned their tragedy into mission to give voice to so many voiceless in our community. civilians banded together to raise money for safety equipment legal groups also called for change in how hate crimes are categorized and called to action the need for victims to be properly communicated with saturday as local leaders and activists gathered thai monks chanted and the crowd cheered as sonora lane became visha rottnapakti way a small reminder of the triumph a symbol of the work done so far and the long road ahead in stopping aapi hate and no one said to live in fear even outer asian people today.

6:18 am
feet deep, but not fairfield with the southwest wind at 16 still clear sky there cloudy conquered and livermore. so we have a week weather system and a really robust marine layer overhead and as it all begins to peel back to the shoreline, we're going to see more sun but not enough to warm us up to near average readings. in fact, we'll be below average. no 80s to speak of today. there's a look at the low clouds the fog from the san ramon valley out towards san mateo and fremont this morning all the whip towards santa rosa's current numbers are coolest well to the north clear lake is at 50 degrees. but otherwise, we're from the upper 50s around san mateo to low 60s hayward palo alto 63 in san jose. good morning concord 62 for you and without that radiation cooling that blanket of low clouds that has escaped into the atmosphere. we are warmer five to seven degrees mild this morning, but by the finish the end of the day, will be cooler and we had that cool down yesterday up to 15 and 20 degrees cooler.
6:19 am
those southerly winds into the north bay. wow. you were only in the 60s up towards the sonoma county gray skies this morning, but it looks clear out there right because the deck of clouds is so tall looking at sunny conditions even to the coast today, but the numbers below average and then warmer for fleet week. we're talking about that slow warm-up to start and then by the middle of the week, we'll see those 90s arrive inland. so there is the start of the day and as we get towards about 3:00 pm the low cloud deck wants to pull all the way back to the coast and then push back in for mostly cloudy start to your monday temperatures coming up by about tuesday, but i think by wednesday it becomes more dramatic. here's a look at what you can expect for monday plus in to return to some low to mid 80s still 60s and 70s elsewhere from the coast to the bay shore and then by tuesday, we're gaining about five degrees inland a couple more degrees along the bay and then wednesday could see some 90s inland and it looks like a very typical october
6:20 am
scenario, although it will be above average. so as we look at the highs today notice you have to go way out towards sacramento the southern sacramento valley to get into those 80s looking more like near average today, san francisco and oakland 60s and 70s and if we make it to that upper 70s in san jose about three degrees shive average same deal up in santa rosa. so cool day for the north south end of the bay our inland valleys, but otherwise the breezy winds and kind of a fall feel to the day today the accuweather seven day forecast featuring the warmer weather slow warm up monday and tuesday. i think you'll begin to feel it by tuesday, very pleasant and then by the middle of the week, wednesday, thursday and friday high pressure building in for a lot of sunshine les fog much warmer days and even perhaps upper 60s to near 70 at the coast. so that fantastic weather good ability for fleet week. yeah. all right. let's look forward to this month lisa. thank you excited about that

6:31 am
we're going to see sunshine here mid 60s to upper 60s downtown. this is three o'clock notice only in the 70s for the north end and south end of the bay, so it's cooler and the fog comes back. fleet tonight, but we'll talk about when that warm-up begins in a few minutes liz. alright lisa. thanks. it's been a difficult few days for students coming from the king estates campus in oakland after the school shooting there on wednesday some of them return this weekend to pick up belongings left behind in the chaos, six. people were hurt in the shooting oakland police are still searching for suspects abc 7 news reporter coronel bernard reports. i'm feeling okay. i just i do worry about the people that might have been hurt 13 year old amari mcdaniel returned to oakland's bay tech charter school saturday. he came back to campus to collect his backpack left behind on wednesday when students ran from the school escorted by police after 30 rounds were fired six adults were injured including two students, and i do know that i'm okay.
