others were hurt. the teens were all berkeley residents and were at a rented home on apgar street in north oakland police say several dozen teens were at the home for a birthday party when someone came in and started shooting. nobody has been arrested a cousin of the victim says they were role models for their four younger siblings. all the idolize the like they would always be like, where are you going take me with you? i want go with you. counselors on hand today to talk to any students that may need a resource tonight's vigil for the teens is at longfellow middle school at 7 pm school is still closed today at the side of a mass shooting in oakland last week. this happened on wednesday at the king of state school complex. there are three schools on the campus including redsdale high school where the shooting took place and bay tech charter school six people were wounded in the shooting including two students monticello. thomas is a senior at bay tech.

he spoke with abc 7 news about the reaction inside the school as shots ring out. the first i don't think they were shots because they didn't quite sound like gunshots because they were working on the sewage. so we all we were like at first i was like, oh they're working on the pipe. so like maybe they were like using from the six pipe. thought about it. i was like no that's actually got shot. today's classes are canceled as police. continue the investigation saturday bay tech students were allowed back on the campus for the first time to gather their belongings. it's just like this eerie feeling this something's not right and i don't know. what that feeling is? it's just not. this is not what it like. never walked through that school and felt that way so it was kind of police have said the shooting appears to have been a targeted attack. they don't think any of the people shot though were the intended targets. no arrests have been in the case. and events like this are

questions about why that area did not evacuate on monday instead of tuesday how they yeah. you know, what? what is your what are your thoughts on that? so, you know, they they had 30 hours until the storm hit so i do think that they like i think it was their either the governor or the someone in the county of lee county was saying that they wouldn't do anything different with what they knew at that moment whenever and on monday, we had fort myers in the four to eight feet surge. i think any time eight feet is on a surge map. i would highly consider moving people at least away from the immediate coast definitely off of like a sanibel captiva pine island and perhaps that's something they take from this because the next day when it went 8 to 12 on tuesday, that's when they started getting motivated and getting people out. unfortunately, not everywhere is a beach community where these are second homes or vacation spots a lot of places from pine island to around fort myers where this we knew fort myers and naples. we're going to take on water no matter how close even if this thing had made landfall right

my name is sue and we are watching a couple of problem spots. your monday morning commute. let's take a look a couple of sigalerts. we've got this one westbound 80 in the vacaville area near waterman and an extensive backup eight cars involved and left lanes blocked. that was a sigalert. also this one happened about three something this morning. this is eastbound 80 the reverse commute and this one is near solano avenue with two lanes blocked and that's even westbound backed up now about halfway towards highway 4. ladies. all right sue. thank you this morning. there's an urgent manhunt happening in stockton. we're police think they may have a serial killer or killers on the loose five men have been shot and killed around the city since july, please just release this surveillance video photo of a person of interest. however, they haven't released much more information including the clues that have led them. leave this is the work of a serial killer. at this time, we don't know if

used in the crime daily city police say there have been cases where suspects dress up like utility workers in the past. there's a possible break in the case of missing oakley woman alexis gabe this week and gave his family told abc 7 news. they think they may have found her remains. they were searching in an area of the sierra nevada foothills and amador county when they discovered bones. it's the same area where a map allegedly made by gabe's ex-boyfriend said, her body was located. the family is now offering a 100,000 reward and have enlisted more than 700 volunteers to help search. they are actively searching right now, and that's why we are always getting a tip every time they see something they message us. alexis gabe went missing and january after visiting her ex-boyfriend marshall jones. this antioch home police believe he killed her in june officers in seattle killed jones while trying to arrest him. it could take several months for

the war in ukraine russian troops have been forced out of an important city. they've held for several months. now this weekend ukrainian troops tore down russian colors and re-raised their own flag in the city of lyman. the town is a vital transportation hub from military supply lines and had been annexed by russia just a few months ago. russia is also said to be going door-to-door looking for men who can be drafted fight in the war experts say this shows how quickly the war has turned in ukraine favor and now has russian president vladimir putin making nuclear threats. he's already lost a really critical element in that critical city. that would have been a very key supply hub. had they been able to go farther and that's just going to continue he's going to continue to lose on the battlefield. ukraine is building on huge gains that made in an offensive last month fighting to stop russia from killing civilians. governor gavin newsome signed a
