her father who was shot and killed in front of the house. >> he was everything i could have asked for in a dad. he did his best to be the best dad. >> police say they were initially responding to reports of a catalytic converter theft just after 4:00 a.m. and at the glenview neighborhood. >> i heard yelling and saw the gun point out the window, shoot three times and the car took off. >> victor lives nearby and describes him as a good family man. he says the neighborhood was recently hit with two arms robberies and another catalytic converter theft. this is the 101 homicide in oakland this year. >> just affect this is happening, it's just a sign of desperation right now around us and i am said he lost his life. >> her father worked construction and just turned 60 years old in may.

shot and killed in east oakland among all others in stockton. all victims killed were men and most were hispanic. >> six debts, one person injured and is serial killer still on the loose. -- six deaths, motive still not known. one shooting survivor gave police a description of the suspect. >> stockton police released this image of a person of interest connected to the death of now six people. one death occurred in oakland in april of 2021. 39-year-old one died of a gunshot wound. stockton police say his death is connected to the others. >> there are elements of the crime that we can link indicating the same person committing both crimes. i would consider that the beginning of a serial murder

case. >> investigators try to piece together trends and similarities to figure out the same person coming each homicide. the oakland incident must have had similarities to be able to connect it with the others spite being in a different city. >> they are going to look at evidence to the scene and make determinations even if they are just thinking i am not used to seeing this or that. >> he says this news was unfortunate to hear, especially as oakland deals with ongoing gun violence. >> put in on top of,, incident on top of tragedy. >> oakland has seen a large amount of homicides this year. that could present an issue when it comes to finding similarities and these homicides. he also said having other agencies like stockton police and the fbi could help when it comes to dealing with a potential serial killer. >> if you have a homicide squad
