seen it and they're not happy with what they saw san jose fire chief robert. stop being jr. released a statement saying the department has become aware of concerning video posted on social media and investigation has been initiated to determine facts surrounding the video san jose mayor sam. licardo also issued a statement saying if the investigation concludes that this video is as bad as it looks then heads must roll the mayor said adding we cannot have a life critical emergency rescue apparatus relegated to a frat party bus north tolerate any conduct that so demeans a heroic work of the rest of our sjfd team. i trust that chief robert sapien is one of our nation's finest fire chiefs were respond. accordingly at the pink poodle. no one was talking. no one returned our calls in the person working at the establishment did not want to comment on the video vince grimaldi owns the business next door to the pink poodle. he says they've been great neighbors, but he is concerned about the video. somebody's having a really good time on city funds that we pay good tax dollars for we've got crime in the area.

we're kind of in a limbo. we're just we don't have enough to rebuild. and we're just essentially stuck. you know, we've been in this rv now for since november of 20. 18 read says he received a 45% partial payment from the fire victim trust the trust refers to these payments as pro-rata payments. they are a portion of the total determination the trust and the claimant agreed the trust will ultimately pay the claimant in some ways read is one of the lucky ones according to claims data released as of september 30th a little more than half of the nearly 70,000 claimants have received these partial payments every day. i am on the phone with clients who are frustrated and as they're representative. i'm frustrated with them and for them attorney matthew french says approximately 20% of his nearly 200 fire victim clients have not received a determination from the trust which would tell them how much the trust is offering to ultimately pay them. i have people who are sleeping

in their cars and tents or living with relatives. they have not been able to recover from this fire according to a message posted to the far victim trust website on september 30th by trustee kathy yanni 82% of all claim questioners submitted to the trust have received determinations. yanni writes that a near-term goal for the trust is to issue determination notices for at least 90% of the remaining claims by the end of this year and to get those claimants. they're entitled partial payments fire victims like breed question whether the trust will have enough money to pay all fire victims according to court documents. the trust is funded half with cash and half with pg&e stock which means the value of the trust constantly changes in may of 2021. i asked johnny, will there be enough money to pay all of the claimants? oh, yeah, there will be i don't have any doubt about that wednesday the trust sold 35 million shares of pg&e stock as the stock hit more than 14 dollars for the first time since

march of 2020. the trust said the sale would help it continue resolving claims and getting money. to fire victims equitably and efficiently pg&e was recently added back to the s&p 500inoot t strategy group a california-based consulting firm specializing in corporate reputation issues management and crisis communications tells abc 7 news. it is working with the fire victim trust in an email writing our assumption is this will help elevate the valuation of the stock which in turn will increase the funds eventually available to the trust to continue paying fire victims adding now that pg&e will be included in the s&p 500 it suggests that fund managers will direct investments automatically to pg&e stock on september 29th, governor gavin newsom signed to bill which will make pg&e wildfire victims settlement payments state tax free on the same day the governor veto to bill which would have required the california public utilities commission to review actions taken by pg&e that adversely affected stock in a statement the governor wrote it is not clear. this bill would help the

wildfire victims. the governor said the cpuc does not have the internal expertise to evaluate how utility corporate behavior impacts a utility stock value which would require it to retain outside experts at a significant cost to ratepayers according to the trust september 30th claims state of the trust has paid out more than 5 billion dollars in initial and partial percentage payments to claimants while many are still waiting for their 45% partial payment reed says until he gets another payment his family can't rebuild. we just want to move on with our lives. you know, it's been long enough. it's that's enough for the it melanie woodrow abc 7 news. after the break it was the first day of the fleet week air show as the blue angels roared over the crowds gathered along the waterfront, but their death-defying stunts weren't the only highlights. we'll have more on the fleet week festivities when abc 7 news at 5 returns.

by the san francisco fire departments fire boat and get to see the prey to ships the proximity to the aircraft is wonderful. yeah, it's nice up and close the us navy's leapfrog team parachuted down onto the marina green and patriotic style the army even conducted a mini boot camp for guests for crews while honoring the history of fleet week and it's important first and foremost because there are so many veterans in the bay area and san francisco as well. and so it's showing recognition for their legacy as well as celebrating the men and women who serve in the military. you know, it's almost like curl the fog waited for the air show to end today before moving in. you know, i've covered this so many years it never gets old. it's always exciting and the air
