building a better bay area, moving forward, finding solutions, this is abc 7 news. >> story and san francisco, the sight and sound the fleet week are back. the blue angels taking to the skies for the annual air this weekend. stephanie: we will have more on fleet week and our other top stories in just a moment. let's take a quick look at the weather. how is that fleet we for cast shaping up. francis: here's a look at that fog over san francisco in the

downtown area. sunrise at 7:11. most temperatures in the 50's. it will be cloudy by the coast and then clear skies inland and around the bay. the tricky part is that area near golden gate bridge. inland areas are warming up to near 90° around the bay. a lot of sunshine, in the low 70's. at the beaches, that is where things will stay in the low 60's and we will have more on the fleet week forecast. stephanie: berkeley police are investigating a shooting near the cal campus. this happened near durant. police are asking everyone to avoid the area. it is unclear if anyone was injured or if they have any suspects. we will bring you any updates as soon as they come in.

the third of four vigils will be held in merced to honor the family who was kidnapped and found that this week. for the second straight night, community members gathered to remember the family. they shared words of comfort. >> i just wanted to send my condolences to the family. being a mother of heaven who was murdered here in merced as well, i know how they feel. stephanie: 41-year-old aleberto delgado. was arrested. happening today in the north bay, a celebration of community renewal and hope. santa rosa will hold a ceremony at copy park. it under the community who came together to rebuild after the

life. governor newsom plans to call a special session to address the high gas prices. it will also create a windfall tax for oil companies who are making a profit. meanwhile millions of dollars of gas price relief have hit the banking accounts of california residence. anywhere from 200 to $1000 are going out to taxpayer. this depends on your tax return, how you filed, whether you have dependents and account for your adjusted gross income. >> i think it is great, this is the highest inflation and 60, 70 years. it is well needed. stephanie: in total, the state will pay out 9.5 billion dollars. economists save the gas tax rebates will drive gas prices

higher. harvard professor says these inflation relief payments will cost the rest of america's. a bad smell is affecting crockett residence. the smell is attributed to hydrogen sulfide coming from the wastewater treatment plant. health officials say it is not always a sign of a health risk. levels tested yesterday caused a public health concern. people can suffer headaches, nausea and irritated eyes. >> it has affected people's health, its affected businesses, businesses of close. people have lost out revenue. it is a very big nuisance. stephanie: officials say the smell is due to an operational issue at the plant and they are

investigating. a townho hall meeting will be held on thursday. one of the biggest weekends in san francisco is underway. fleet week events are happening today including the airshow. tim johns has a look at some of these festivities. tim: the sights and sounds of fleet week were on display. from live music, even the airshows famous blue angels. >> so fast, they are amazing. tim: locals and tourists came out to see the festivities around the city. >> to see all of our military people, the planes, the parade of ships. it is beautiful. tim: dozens gathered to watch a performance by the navy band. fleet week has always been one of the most exciting things on

off ballot boxes will open. they are marked with the official seal of the city and county of san francisco. they have official ballot drop off or on them and include an american flag. they will be open 20 47 until 8:00 p.m. election day. you can find locations for these drop boxes online. a march through downtown san jose is putting the spotlight on domestic violence awareness month. every october, they are getting out the message, hoping to move closer to a world without abuse. amanda del castillo jo has a look at the effort from the south bay. >> advocates and allies, many in purple marched from san jose to city hall. a demonstration centered around the mystic violence awareness. >> you look at all the support.

>> stop the violence. amanda: the group passing the olympic black power statue. there is great significance in recognizing the silent protest made at the 1968 mexico city olympics. >> it is important that we honor where we have been an honor to the folks that have brought us here together before. it seems fitting for us to go through that cap is particularly in light by those statues. amanda: one in four women, one in seven men, one in three teens and one into lgbtq individuals experience domestic violence. at city hall, a rally and resource fair with agencies aiding the awareness effort. >> we want to make a statement

of breast cancer research. she got a tour of the cancer center to see some of the advances being made and breast cancer research. it is part of the biden's administration cancer initiative which gives federal resources to help speed up cancer research. >> i think it is so hard to go through all the treatments you have to go through and having the disease of cancer. and then, to be asked to be in a clinical trial, it takes a lot of courage. you have been through so much already. stephanie: the first lady also delivered a speech at an event hosted by a democratic congressional campaign committee at the fairmont hotel. in the east bay there was a large turnout tonight for the armenian food festival. people filled the church in oakland for the event. there was also armenian music and dancing. this is the 67th year the

festival has been held and it is billed as one of the largest in the east bay. if you missed it last night, the festival is back on today starting at noon. turning to weather, all eyes will be in the sky to watch the blue angels. of all the days to have clear skies, this is truly the day. frances: it is looking pretty good but i will not promise blue skies. i think he will still be able to view it, just not perfectly clear. that is because of the fog in the low clouds which we are dealing with this morning. here's a look at live doppler 7, lots of cloud cover all along the coast and we have some fog pushing in through the bay right now. it is creating limited visibility and soft spots. zero visibility in petaluma and napa in one mile in santa rosa

right now. let's take a look outside. golden gate bridge, you can't see much across the span. temperatures are in the 50's, even some 60's right now. san francisco 54, san jose 60 degrees, half moon bay, 52. here you see more about fog over san francisco. that is what we will keep an eye on with our forecast models. santa rosa, it is closer. that is where it is 48 degrees. we see some upper 50's through vacaville, concord and livermore. here's the forecast. 7:00 this morning you will notice extensive cloud cover and walked to the north and all around the bay. by lunchtime, it starts to pull back. that is when we are zooming into san francisco. you will notice we still have class at the beach is that we

could see clouds across the golden gate bridge. i think we will still be able to see it, just not perfectly, clear blue skies. you will notice the clouds move then, extensive push overnight into tomorrow. temperatures will be cooler, but at the beaches, that is where it will stay in the 60's today and tomorrow. here's the planner for san francisco. we have clouds in the morning, noticed by lunchtime we start to see some clearing in the afternoon for the shows. you might still need a jacket because temperatures will be in the mid 60's and we will feel that sea breeze and temperatures start to drop into the evening. here are the highest for today with breezy conditions at the beaches. san francisco 66, low to mid 70's around the bay. our warmest thoughts will hit near 90 degrees for some of the

surreal. it seem like a page out of a spy novel. it began when she filed a petition with the u.s. tax court to dispute a big irs penalty. she paid the $60 filing fee with this check for $60. the course of the check back to her and to her amazement, it was totally blank. all the ink on her check it disappeared. >> my first thought was i sent the check and i forgot to fill it out. but she did not forget, the male had been irradiated, zapped with radiation. that because the ink on your tech to disappear. >> i can't believe this, irradiated? i have never heard of such a thing. here's a copy of her original check in here is what it looks like now. everything she had written, gone

the air show but we will also see clouds lingering through the day. you can see why, we are stockton, looking at downtown san francisco. temperatures are in the 50's. we will see sunny skies everywhere else. we will be sunny, inland areas warming up into the low 90's. around the bay, low 70's. at the coast we will see some low 60's and because of that, we will be keeping an eye on those low clouds for fleet week. stephanie: this morning, police are still searching for a suspected serial killer tied to deadly shootings in oakland and stockton. there have been seven shootings. the open shooting was the first and april of last year. a few days later, a woman

survived the second shooting. the rest of the shootings did not take place until more than a year later. earlier this week, police released this video of a person of interest. the shootings have been linked by ballistic evidence and if that happened in dark locations without witnesses. the motive is still a mystery. there is a 120 $5,000 reward for any information leading to an arrest. you can keep track of the latest developments on the story. we are posting everything we know. the white house is commenting on president biden's warnings of a nuclear armageddon. he said those words were meant to convey that no one should underestimate the extraordinary danger if russia deploys tactical nuclear weapons in its war against ukraine. >> the biden administration is downplaying remarks by the president in which he said russian president vladimir

it receives its revenue from stamps and package deliveries. if the regulatory commission approves this it will go into effect in january. video is making the rounds showing a scantily clad woman getting out of a fire truck and walking into a strip club. an investigation is underway and there has been a strong response from the mayor's office. zach fuentes has more. zach: the video was taken in front of the pink poodle nude adult club in burbank. a fire truck was parked on the street. the woman shows a woman in a bikini going straight to the interests of the club. it has not gotten permission from the person who shot the video to show it but city leaders have seen it and they are not happy with what they saw. the fire chief saying, the department has become aware of concerning video posted on social media.
