little bit of fog and clouds as you saw in those shots. you will view them pretty well. there will be some clouds out there. look at this beautiful shot in san francisco. you can only see the top of salesforce tower. how much will they see if we can get close to the ground. this is another live shot as we look at downtown san francisco. temperatures are mostly in the 50's for the next couple of hours. by noon it, we will get lots of clear skies. around the bay, it is comfortable in the low 70's. i will have your complete forecast coming up. stephanie: berkeley police are investigating a shooting near

the cal campus. it happened after 1:30 a.m. in the area of durant and telegraph avenues. they are asking everyone to avoid the area. one witness described what happened the moment he heard gunshots. >> i've lived here for four years. this the first time i've experienced something like this. the bullet into the tire of one of the tires. i'm going to have to call roadside assistance. stephanie: it's unclear if anyone was injured it. we do have calls into the police department for more details. we will bring you updates as soon as they come in. tonight, the third of four vigils will be held to on of the family who is kidnapped and found dead this week. for the second straight night, community will remember the family. they shared words of comfort. >> i want to send my condolences to the family.

being a mother, i know how they feel. stephanie: a 41-year-old, the brother of the kidnapping suspect, has been arrested. he was booked on charges of criminal conspiracy and destroying evidence. today, a celebration of community renewal and hope. the city of santa rosa will hold a ceremony. it honors the community that came together to rebuild after the fires. more than 5000 homes were destroyed. 90% of coffee part has been rebuilt. the ceremony starts at 10:00 this morning. it will be streamed on center roses youtube channel. another covid surge could be on the way. countries in europe are already seeing a rise in infections. experts cost of the u.s. could

relief has started hitting bank accounts of californians. one time payments ranging from $200 to $1000 are going out to 23 million taxpayers. how much you get depends on your tax return. the amount of your adjusted gross income. >> i think it's great. this is the highest inflation in 70 years. it's will needed. >> the state will pay out 9.5 billion dollars. economist say the gas tax rebates will drive tacit -- prices higher. these payments will export inflation to the rest of the u.s. with some showing up in california. a bad smell is affecting crockett residence, pushing them to take action. it's a treated to a hydrogen sulfide, coming from the wastewater treatment plant.

a march through downtown san jose is putting a spotlight on domestic violence awareness. agencies are getting out the message. we have a look at the effort from the south bay. >> advocates and allies, many in purple marched from san jose to city hall. a demonstration centered around domestic violence awareness. >> when you see that purple, the fight is for everybody who's ever been affected by it. >> she joined the crowd that marched through downtown. the group intentionally passed san jose state's black power statue. the group said there is great significance in recognizing the silent protest made at the

mexico city olympics. >> it's important that we honor bere. we've bn ug tether tou c ando thosues.>> one out of four womee out of seven minute, one out of three teens and one out of two lgbtq individuals experience domestic violence. at city hall, a rally and resource fair with agencies aiding the effort. >> we want to break the stigma. we want to tell community members that we are here. >> that's pretty significant. that represents a lot of these groups. >> we have seen a positive shift in the community. >> its support is needed now.

the treatment you have to go through having the disease and then be asked to be in a critical -- clinical. it takes a lot of courage. you've been through so much already. stephanie: she delivered a speech at an event hosted by the congressional campaign committee at the fairmont hotel. there was a large turnout for the armenian food festival. people filled the church in oakland for the event. there was also music and dancing. this is the 67th year the festival has been held. it is one of the largest in the east bay. the festival is back today starting at noon. turning to weather, all eyes will be in the sky to watch the blue angels. we are tracking the fleet week forecast. frances: it is shaping up to be

partly this afternoon. that means you will still get a great show. it won't be perfectly blue skies that we normally experience. here is a look at live doppler with the clouds along the coast. the fog has spilled in it the bay. it is also one fourth of a mile visibility. check out oakland at four mile visibility. outside, the golden gate bridge in. oakland is 55. san jose is 59 degrees. half moon bay is 52 degrees. remember that visibility in oakland? this is what it looks like live. there is 880 right by the coliseum. we will be dealing with the fog.

in santa rosa, it is currently 48. here is a look at the forecast. because of this extensive cloud cover, we could see drizzle. there are little spots of green, mostly off the coast. by lunchtime, most of the clouds will be back. we will see lots of clear skies, mostly in the inland areas. we will be seeing some low clouds throughout the show. we will see them up in the sky. you will see those clouds in the background as we get closer to the ground. we will see the clouds moving in once again it. it we get sunshine in the afternoon.

with the partly cloudy conditions, conditions warm up to 66 degrees. tomorrow, very similar. it is slightly warmer at 68. we will see low 70's at the beaches, we will see temperatures in the 60's tonight. temperatures will drop into the low to mid 50's, mainly around the bay with drizzle possible again near the coast. santa rosa will be one of the coolest spots. air quality will be moderate. tomorrow with breezier conditions, it will be good. partly cloudy for the air show, plenty of sunshine everywhere else. it is slightly cooler tomorrow.

it was very surreal. >> it seemed like a page out of a spy novel. >> maybe it was a secret program. >> she filed a petition with the irs penalty. she paid the filing fee with this check for $60. the court sent at check right back to her. it was totally blank. the check had disappeared. >> i sent the check but i forgot to fill it out. >> she did not forget. the male had been zapped with radiation. that because the ink on her check to disappear. >> i cannot believe this. i had never heard of such a thing. >> this is her copy of the original check. this is what it looks like now. everything she had written was gone.

moving forward, finding solutions, this is abc 7 news. stephanie: we are starting this half-hour with a look at the weather. we are checking the fleet week forecast. the description seems good but not perfect. frances: that's the best way to put it. here is a hopeful shot of the fog in san francisco. we are looking down toward market street.

i feel we have better chances right now getting it better viewing conditions this afternoon. temperatures will most likely be in the 50's. cloudy at the coast throughout the day. by noon, we will see plenty of sunshine. inland areas will be warming up to near 95. we will be keeping an eye on the fog for you. stephanie: thank you. police are still searching for a suspected serial killer tied to daily shootings in oakland and stockton. there been seven shootings. the oakland shooting was the first in april last year. a few days later, a woman survived the second shooting. the rest of the shootings did not take place until one year later, all of the stockton area. police revealed this video of a

person of interest. shootings have been linked by ballistic evidence in dark locations without witnesses. the motive is still a mystery. there is a 125 thousand dollars reward for information leading to an arrest. you can keep track of the latest developments on the story. we are posting everything we know. the white house is commenting on president biden's warnings of nuclear armageddon. he says it's those words that no one should underestimate the extraordinary danger if russia deploys tactical nuclear weapons against ukraine. we have the details. it >> the buy demonstration is downplaying remarks by the president in which he said vladimir putin's threats to use tactical nuclear weapons pose the greatest prospect of armageddon since president kennedy and the cuban missile

crisis. the state department is echoing similar remarks. the u.s. is not seen a reason to adjust its nuclear posture. >> what president biden was speaking to yesterday was how seriously we take these threats. >> all of this after the president spoke at an off-camera fundraiser saying he knows vladimir putin well and he's not joking when he talks about potential use of nuclear weapons. >> we have been quite clear about that. this kind of irresponsible rhetoric is not something that should be coming from those here of it armed nuclear state. >> putin is growing more desperate on the battlefield with recent ukrainian successes.

ukrainian president said he doesn't think russia is ready to use nuclear weapons. officials are laying the groundwork with the public, saying this to the bbc. >> they begin to prepare their society. >> two hundred square miles of territory and dozens of settlements have been retaken in the south. forces are advancing in the east. stephanie: the post office is looking to increase some prices and attempt to offset inflation. it's proposing a three cent increase for stamps. there may also be higher fees for post office box rentals and insurance. the usps does not rely on taxpayer funding. it receives its revenue from stamps and package deliveries. if the commission approves this, the changes will go into effect in january.

a video is making the rounds on social media showing us kennelly clad woman getting out of a fire truck and walking into a strip club. an investigation is underway. there has been a strong response from the mayor's office. >> the video shared on instagram thursday night was taken in front of the pink cool adult club. a fire truck with its lights on was parked on the street. video shows a woman getting out of the cab and walking to the entrance of the club. we have not got permission to show it. city leaders are not happy with what they saw. the fire chief released a statement saying the department has become aware of concerning video on social media. an investigation has been initiated to find facts about the video. if the investigation concludes that this is as bad as it looks, heads must roll.

stephanie: researchers from uc davis are laying out the future of living with and sometimes retreating from wildfires. spencer christian looks at the strategies that could shape the future and build a better bay area. >> for victims of wildfires, the decision about whether to return or rebuild is often painful. it's already shaping policy. uc davis researchers sifted through the still smoldering

story in walnut creek where we have clear skies and plenty of sunshine this afternoon. inland empire -- areas will warm up. the fog is only 48 degrees in napa. it is 50 in vacaville and concord. we have clouds as we look south, spilling into san francisco. you can see the top of the sales force power. we are dealing with areas of dense fog this morning, even some drizzle possible. it is sunny inland and around the bait. get ready for some breezy and slightly below average temperatures for early next week. here is a forecast animation. everything is sunshine except

the coast. at 3:00 when the blue angels come around, you will notice the forecast animation with low clouds across the golden gate bridge, almost reaching the east bay. we could see some low clouds closer to the water. overnight tonight, we will sue the clouds push in once again, making a more extensive question to the east bay and delta. tomorrow will be a little bit cooler for most areas. here's a look at the planner. it will warm up to 66 degrees. here is a look at temperatures all around the bay area. oakland is 73. inland areas will be above average. santa rosa is 86 degrees. tonight, temperatures will drop into the low and mid 50's.

this is a pretty shot of the bay bridge. you can see a little bit of clearing working its way into the bay area. hopefully that will clear more than the forecast animation shows. inland areas are near 90 around the bait. it's a touch cooler on sunday with minor changes. while the forecast isn't perfect, we will still see the show. i think it's going to be a great show. it is not as warm as we normally experience this time of year. it is still going to be good. grab a jacket for sure. stephanie: be sure to get a good spot. we hope that cloud cover moves past the bridge by 3:00. frances: i think we will still see a little bit. the biggest thing i worry about is the traffic.
