recent berkeley institute of governmental studies poll shows him trailing governor newsome by 20 points. but dally who calls new summon out of touch elitist is diligently trying to get out his message focused on public safety and combating inflation day. one is governor. what do you do? number one? i want to drive down the cost of energy in california. that's the fastest way to stop inflation. so i will open up the 1200 oil wells that are waiting at the desk of gavin newsom on some of the more divisive issues. into the state constitution. he says he does not support the state's plan to ban the sale of gas-powered cars by 2035. he also does not believe that kids should be taught about multiple gender identities in schools. these positions are all in stark contrast to governor newsom yet instead of challenging dally on these issues in recent months newsome has been targeting republicans and other states. so it feels like governor newsome right now is really

resignation of councilmember digiovanni d giovanni who is running for re-election says the allegations are politically motivated given what happened last night that looks to be that they're using this in a political fashion. my client is denied it at the city council with recorded at this point. we have nothing more to say daily city police have handed over their investigation to the san mateo county district. attorney's office. meanwhile more people are speaking out about the allegations and the investigation including elaine velasper of daily city the struggle in the council. the council members is disheartening and to see these allegations. come up is definitely concerning. there's also a level of trust that needs to be rebuilt with members of the filipino community with the council more investigation a hearing session maybe with the community or town hall to address. these concerns would be helpful in daly city suzanne phan abc 7 news after the break massive flooding forces early morning

who had to wade through the water to escape and joins us from the newsroom with the details loose. dynamite happened again another high-rise in san francisco flooded this time residents woke up to water rushing down a stairway, but unlike the flooding incident. we've been covering for the past four months at another luxury high-rise. rise. this one was intentional. this is a terrifying scene residence from 100 van ness in san francisco. woke up to it was 5 am and the flooded hallway was just the first sign of what i waited behind this tours. it's open the stairwell and there was like a running stream of high pressure water. maybe a foot multiple feet gushing down the stair as water kept cascading. through the entering apartments and reaching up to four feet in some areas. this resident said there was a delay in the fire alarm his dog woke him up just like a fight or

flight reaction. my doll was a continuously barking. so i went to the bathroom and i heard like some like generator noise and like there was a water falling from the ceiling. so i was like, okay just something like seriously going on and then i went outside and i saw like water puddles on the floor, so i just got my dog and you know, like try to figure out how to get out. elevators stopped working residency evacuated from another stairway once outside finding out the flood was only impacting part of the 30 story building only residents from the 11th floor down new. there was a flood brian van -- lives on the 22nd floor the fire alarm never went off on our floor. yeah, we had no indication. san francisco firefighters are arrived on drenched in water next to upon arrival we were confronted with the person experiencing a behavioral crises during the course of this flood this individual released several standpipes throughout the 11th floor standpipes are common fire
