details of this project, good morning, lena. >> the city is planning how to prepare the city bay shoreline with as much as seven feet sea level rise with no action the coastal modeling shows significant and unacceptable flood damages could start as early as 2030. i can with no action. that is why san francisco is launching a year-long study to protect the city from rising sea levels. it is being done in partnership with a military agency. they are working with the u.s. army corps of engineers to map out what they are calling an adaptation strategy through 2100. it covers an area to the hunters point shipyard. the goal is to find the best approach to reduce from sea level rise and extreme storms and provide an opportunity to invest in and bring benefits to the waterfront.

they want to make sure any goal decided on should strengthen the waterfront from earthquake risks. >> we are going to be going from here to developing and narrowing down strategies and adaptation plans. we will be incorporating, hearing all the public feedback and do our best to reflect that along with the technical if i chelation. it will be coming back to the core commission and going to other city bodies and commissions as well as central, you know, or to supervisors and mayor to have us ultimately with the city preferred plan. >> moving forward, the city is planning to hold a series of neighborhood meetings this fall along the eastern flank to get more community feedback. coming up, we will talk about the proposed strategies the city is now looking into to protect the waterfront.

abc 7 news. >> this morning a peninsula neighborhood is stunned after the shocking death of a man who was trimming trees. this happened on peggy lane. first responders were called just before 1:00 yesterday afternoon. a crew with fa bartlett tree company was trimming trees along the road when one of the workers was pulled into of wood chipper and killed. in bristol abc 7 news they had been notified about tree trimming work in the area but of course never imagined it would lead to a deadly accident. >> we all feel sick and sad and we are just, we are just really said. we are trying to imagine what the four poor families and workers are feeling. and it's, it's a lot. we just feel terrible. >> cal osha will be investigating the event. we reached up but they have not responded. >> this morning, we are learning

about the young men killed in a week and shooting near uc berkeley. eli mataafa was one of four people shot. he is the only person who died. he had deep ties to the locals samoan community. last night, numerous people called in to the council meeting upset over what they say is just the latest recent case of violence near campus. >> immediate action must be taken. we cannot wait until another person is murdered. >> the mass shooting was unacceptable. x it is a seriously cup call. the streets of berkeley are not safe. >> berkeley police say the department is trying to solve this case but they are at a historic low when it comes to officers out on the street. no arrests have been made and loved ones are planning to remember mataafa at a vigil tomorrow night. >> a crash involving three young

students, a driver has been arrested and facing several charges including one count of vehicular manslaughter. one of the three young victims was taken off life support last month. the two other 12-year-olds are still recovering from their injuries. the driver was also hospitalized after the crash. >> in development, a traffic arrest and a potential drug lab. police pulled over a driver early yesterday morning and officer say they found items typically used for meth manufacturing inside the car. of course, they arrested the driver. police linked the items to an apartment on union avenue. they search the unit and found an apartment drug lab i inside. >> this morning residents of a luxury apartment high-rise or out of their homes because of flooding in their building. it appears to be intentional. >> that's what it looked like as

water gushed through the building 100 van ness. the water was up to four feet in some areas. residents say there was a delay in the alarm. one man says he was woken up by his dog. >> just like a fight or flight reaction. my dog was continuously barking so i went to the bathroom and heard what sounded like generator noise and there was water falling from the ceiling. i said, ok, just something like seriously wrong and i went outside and saw petals on the floor. >> firefighters arrived and found a person drenched in water near a water pipe he was arrested for felony vandalism and resisting arrest. building management sent a statement saying that residents are safely relocated. >> we are learning warriors forward draymond green will rejoin the team tomorrow after
