have been shot abc 7 news was at the scene at davi and civic avenues where there is a heavy police response and a stretch of roadway is closed because of the investigation pittsburgh police say the victims were found just after nine o'clock. couple hours ago inside a truck that had crashed a couple of children who were playing at the time say they heard three gunshots and went to see what it was. so scary cuz like this our first time ever being in like well not being just like hearing one of those who coming to see like it's actually real and i just like we're not just hearing someone. we're told the child is expected to survive, but the woman was critically injured. we'll keep you updated on her condition. no arrests have been made. even thank you for joining us. i'm dan ashley and i'm a dates our other stop top story tonight is in san francisco. where a man suspected of harassing women and girls across the city is now under arrest he was taking into custody just hours after a warrant was issued abc 7 news reporter. tim johns has more on how

catching the suspect was a community effort. aside relief for dozens of women around san francisco friday abc 7 news was on scene when police arrested bill hobbs at aquatic park our cameras capturing him in the back of a patrol car a united states park ranger spotted the suspect he in turned called the us park police who apprehended the suspect for weeks police had received multiple reports of a man matching hobbs's description following women around the city residents took to next door and social media posting photos of a man. they believed to be hobbs who's been going all throughout the city harassing women harassing young women touching them making inappropriate gestures hobbs is allegedly victimized women in several locations across san francisco at least six people have filed police reports against him the city's district. attorney brooke. jenkins said he faces several potential charges a felony false imprisonment charge. we have multiple battery charges sexual battery in the city's marina district word of hobbs's alleged activities have caused a

officially launch later this month. in the south bay another pedestrian has been struck and killed sadly police. say a woman was hit near lundy and sajak avenues last night in san jose. the driver did stop and is cooperating. she is a 28th pedestrian killed in san jose this year last year at this time 19 had been killed as pedestrians investigators say she was crossing the street but was not in the crosswalk when it happened. this one is one of multiple crashes yesterday in san jose involving pedestrians and another crash happened today, san jose police have been trying to make the city streets safer. the police department's enforcement efforts our psas notifications to schools notifications to drivers seem to fall on death ears sometimes as discouraging to see that there are so many traffic collisions still occurring even though as it was previously mentioned. our traffic enforcement unit is out there making hundreds of tickets a day. in all there have been 55

traffic-related deaths in san jose this year in the east bay investigators believe a faulty power strip is the likely cause of an early morning fire and a senior living facility in oakland firefighters helped to rescue about 80 residents from the six-story building on santa clara avenue near grand lake theater and lake merritt investigators. say the fire started on the fifth floor where a power strip ignited blanket inside one of the units one firefighter suffered minor injuries a two residents went to the hospital as a precaution. flu season is approaching today the centers for disease control put out its first weekly flu-view stats early increases of flu cases were seen in most of the us notably high in the southeast and south-central regions this map from the cdc's website that we are going to show you right here illustrates. how states are being affected it recommends everyone over six months to get the flu vaccine by

players still very much mourning the loss of katie meyer the 22 year old star goldtender who died by suicide in february, andrea. keita hota is a sophomore. it's been difficult for sure. we miss her every day dawning katie's number 19 in her memory on this mental health awareness night signified by the butterfly sticker. we just want to raise awareness for mental health and make sure that we are getting rid of a stigma and making sure that everyone knows that they are supported mentally and physically as athletes fans dreaming into a sold out stadium young soccer players taking to this table writing note 7 couragement because it's good that they understand that others may be going through the same thing. she'll be ever plays for a soccer team in mill valley and says katie's death is being felt i felt really sad that anyone could feel that way and even when they got to be like on stanford soccer team team

local resources by going to abc7news.com/take action for urgent matters. you can call the national suicide and crisis lifeline by simply dialing 988. use those resources if you were someone needs them how earlier at stanford students protested after a second rape was reported on campus in the past two months in the latest incident a woman was reportedly taken from her campus office dragged into a basement where she was attacked students are advocating for support for the victims. we want increased resources and funding for our confidential support team, which is a organization on campus that helps give trauma-informed counseling to survivors. stanford sent out a statement to students encouraging them to use the existing on campus resources. they said we strongly encourage students faculty and staff to use the support resources that the university offers. the university says it has increased campus security following these two incidents kaiser permanente mental health workers are now two months on

i just like to motivate myself before the race starts and stay concentrated. ♪♪ >> his racing career really is a second job for all of us. the travel, the maintenance on the cars that we can do, all the work behind the scenes that grandma, family, and that we all put in to keep him on the track, to keep him in school, to get everything ready so that he can have some success at it. it requires lots of people to be involved and support us in order to help him accomplish his goal. >> keeping the pace up. coming down the front straightaway... >> just seeing him out there driving so fast with so many other cars, it's really stressful to watch it. i trust that he's a great driver, but anything can happen when they're out there on the track. so you just hope that he gets through the race without too many accidents and comes home in one piece, him and the car.
