>> building a better bay area. moving forward, finding solutions. this is abc 7 news. ama: a magnitude 5.1 earthquake rattles the bay area. good evening. i am ama daetz. dan: and i am dan ashley. it was the conversation of the day. ama: some felt it, some did not. dan: it always gets our attention. they say it was a magnitude of 5.1 thousands of us felt at 11:42 this morning. several smaller aftershocks were felt earlier. ama: amanda del castillo heard from more. amanda: from swain artwork to

swaying light fixtures. abc 7 news captured the reactions from the earthquake that rocked the region tuesday morning. >> this was a shake and i roll. amanda: -- and not a role. amanda: he shared video footage. it is set up to withstand 50 mile an hour winds. also surviving the earth chalk -- earthquake and several aftershocks. >> we felt it here. it was like an earthquake and then an earthquake. amanda: these two grew up in morgan hill. they were there when it hit in 1984. >> my wife's family lost their house in the earthquake. things like this ground us back

misconduct within the antioch police department and possible sexual harassment by mayor thorpe, claims that he denies. he believes there are racial undertones here as police reforms and other measures are taking place within a city. >> individuals in the city are upset about the progress they are making. they're disgusted with the fact we keep disenfranchising people's forces. -- people's voices. >> some of it is fair and some of racism. j.r.: we were unable to speak with a man accused of hitting the mayor. dan: we will continue to follow that. we are hearing your top issues in the neighborhood and finding solutions. right now it is a central concern in the city of oakland. art the recent efforts to stop the rising crime rate working?
