look at santa rosa half mile visibility and no visibility up in novato in just two miles on the coast. the east bay is better. we're in the mid 50s over in oakland right now 54 in castro valley and with the low to mid 40s in the north bay, it's cold. it's gray and we're looking at 54 on the coast but not for long. starting out elsewhere on the mild side with 11 degrees warmer than yesterday with the cloudy skies from mountain view to san jose. there's a look outside our window and it's the sky is clear the temperatures climb for the 60s and 70s for our last mile to warm afternoon and quite some time. we'll talk about the turnaround the cooldown the showers in a few minutes liz. alright lisa. thank you new overnight, san jose police are working multiple shootings. the first one happened at a home on kaufman court around 11:30 last night. multiple people were shot according to officials, please. tell us two victims have been taken to the hospital. we are unclear of their conditions right now. a motive is also not known at this time and the second shooting happened after midnight

on madera avenue a man suffered potentially life-threatening injuries in this incident. we are waiting on an update from police in both shootings. now do a developing story from south korea at least 151 people are dead including two americans when hundreds and hundreds are trapped and when they were trampled in a crowd surge this morning that that death toll could rise even more tens of thousands were gathering for halloween festivities when the several crowds got out of control it turned into a stampede most of the victims were teenagers or people in their early 20s because it's the streets were so clogged. it made it practically impossible for ambulances to reach the victims. it's unclear. what the sudden crowd search and we're now hearing from house speaker nancy. pelosi is her husband paul remains in the hospital a man broke into their home and beat paul with a hammer in a statement nancy. pelosi says her children and grandchildren are heartbroken and traumatized by the attack.

to napa 53 in half moon bay. so we are looking out side here in the visibility. really not bad. it is much milder out there this morning foggy areas this morning. it'll be mild again this afternoon away from the coast the coast barely at 60 yesterday. so no change is there and beautiful weather for halloween. we are looking at the dry conditions chili starting out in the low 60s and dropping through the 50s plenty of cloud cover throughout the afternoon for a cooler day as well and then the showers and pretty cold weather headed our way for the middle of the upcoming work week. so here's a look at the cloud cover that will be clearing today. we're going to take this through monday and notice that we have increasing clouds for halloween and then look what happens. eight monday into tuesday. we are looking at the shower activity arriving early tuesday morning stopping this right before noon time. you can see a line of rain moving through san francisco into the east bay and then through about 12:30 one o'clock

aw... bay area moving forward finding solutions. this is abc 7 news. good morning everyone on this final week of october. wow, the month has flown by. yeah, and we're gonna have some big changes weather-wise today keeping it the same and boy had got pretty nice yesterday throughout the afternoon today. it's another chilly start this morning with some dense fog in spots right around the coast and

the north bay 40s where it is foggy mid 50s in hayward 59 for you in fremont. so it is milder for many of you from the east bay to the south bay as much as 11 to 14 degrees warmer this morning, not so much in the north bay where you've got that dense fog santa rosa nevada visibility down to nothing along the coast two miles half moon bay. so at nine o'clock. we're in the 50s and it's pretty gray for most of us. but look what happens by 10 o'clock bright sunshine and temperatures already in the lower 60s and her inland valleys. it's a sunny day. at one o'clock low 70s in lynn lots of 60s elsewhere, but notice the fog banking up along the coast, so it's going to be cool there barely 60x3 clock still holding on to that warmth. look what happens by late in the evening clouds have been thickened too much, but they will throughout the evening hours and we'll talk about when that leads to rain in a few minutes list. okay, lisa. thank you yesterday. we showed you an effort by a republican group in the south bay to target local school board races this morning.

we're showing you a similar effort in marin county, but unlike the south bay the candidates there are not talking as openly about social issues and some people aren't happy about that. but we did ask those questions and we got some answers. in a crowded election field the biggest sign on san marin drive. and marin county is for one of the smallest races. teeth gives jensen could give everybody one of these cards. she's a candidate running for school board and then novato unified school district. school board jensen is a mom of two recent novato graduates and a local business owner. we met up with her in the final weeks of her campaign while she was walking her district door knocking and then we're gonna walk up that way. i have walked my entire district once at least once and now i'm on my second go-round again, and the number one thing that people are concerned about is the financial well-being of the district and that's where we need to keep our focus on our campaign flyer. jenson talks about the abcs which she describes as accountability back to basics

and children first what's not obvious from reading it is that jensen is one of the most vocal conservative activists in marin county. she actively campaigned a recall governor gavin newsome has organized protests against the covid mandates. it's segregationists. it's discriminatory and threatened to boycott businesses in novato that required showing proof of vaccination. i am on record as being against cope the covid vaccine. okay. i don't believe vaccinated. no, i'm not. and i don't believe that kids should be forced to get no. no young people have died in marin county, but they have died of suicide. sure campaign is not about state or national politics, but our candidacy is part of a larger trend happening across the country including the bay area conservative candidates running for small down ballot races. local elections are nonpartisan, right so officially they're not running as a democrat or republican dr. sarah hill is a political science professor at

cal state fullerton if you can make it not about party folks might have a better chance of actually winning a seat and influencing policy. this is this is a dramatic year for this kind of activity pat johnstone is the chair of the marin democratic party. says she's never seen anything like it the republican party marin county. i think has a registration of about 18 percent. so we're a pretty blue county and so it's often that republicans. don't even run johnstone says jensen is one of nine school board and city council candidates across marin county supported by marin freedom rising and anti-vaccine group also on the list faye barrette a candidate running for school board in san rafael fade by the bay like jensen brett is running for office for the very first time. she says she also wants to focus on learning loss during the pandemic academic skills basic skills. that's my main issue, but when it comes to hot topics before the school board, like discussing lgbtq+ issues and gender identities in school and

covid vaccines. brett did not give us clear answers on where she stands. are you vaccinated? like do you believe in vaccination? well, i i'm not gonna answer that question because that that is i think that's private. cool information do you believe kids should get the cova vaccine? it's up to their parents. johnstone says she believes this is strategic in their campaign materials. they're being sweetness and light about building the community and things like that. and and it's it's hard to know what their full agenda is. i'm not trying to cover anything up and i and i'm certainly not trying to you know obfuscate anything jensen says fiscal concerns and learning loss are what's motivating her to run not social issues, but those are the issues that are firing up school boards across the country particularly issues around lgbtq+ students school boards and states have been enacting legislation to restrict students from talking about these issues removing protections for transgender students even

closing student newspapers for publishing pride issues. as for jensen, she says she opposes the district flying the lgbtq+ flag during pride month which the current board approved during this eict is setting itself up for is if somebody wants to come in and fly a fla the a gngc flag. it could be the don't tread on me flag. well you comparing lgbtq+ issues to the satanic flag and the rainbow flag to the satanic flag. how about the don't tread on me flag? how about the how about a trump flag? how about the russian. how about the russia? how about the russian flag? jensen went on to say books about transgender people should not be allowed in elementary schools. the transgender thing is a much greater issue. okay there those kids are seriously mentally. they have mental problems. okay, they are they're having very very tough time processing their sexual identity. my daughter had a friend in high

school who decided she was a boy. okay, and i i discussed that with her i said, i'm not gonna call her by her boy name. i understand that you think that's disrespectful, but i'm not gonna do that when kids are younger than 18 the school should not be involved in any way about their sexuality. it should be between the parents and the kids. do you believe the school should allow that child to go by their preferred name? i i don't know. that's really tough question. so scary to you about a young person deciding that they want to transition. because i don't think it's i don't think it's biologically possible and i don't think i think you're you're lying to kids. kids are you're either a boy or a girl you don't believe in transgender? no, it's it's horrifying among those living in the district. jensen hopes to win is suzanne ford a trans woman who is the executive director of san

this morning we want to show. you an incredible sight of one of the most spectacular tracks through the alps a swiss railway company says it is that a record for the world's longest passenger train 1.2 miles to be exact and this is video of saturday's trip, of course people lined up to watch the train wind its way through 22 tunnels and 48 bridges. that's incredible the entire journey took over an hour it traveled about 15 and a half miles. the reshun railway company says the 100 carriage train was designed to celebrate 175 years of swiss rail and pay tribute to the country's engineers. that is really cool to see how it we use through those tunnels lisa. oh, yeah, very cool and kind of gets you in the mood for the change of seasons as we try to

night into tuesday that will bring some rain and still some disagreement on how much rain as we get in a little bit closer visibility is reduced to nothing in novato. you can see down through san rafael pretty much all of the north bay some fog issues for sure right along the coast two and a half miles half moon bay, so certainly tricky out there kind of spooky take your time if you're headed anywhere this morning 56 santa clara as well sunnyvale and it is in the mid 50s on the peninsula and so mid peninsula so very mild temperatures from the south bay the east bay a little cool lafayette and 49 and those mid 40s up in the north bay, but look how much wilder from san francisco oakland this morning due to that cloud cover still have a little wind out there mixing the atmosphere. but as you look out from san francisco, it is certainly foggy and that'll stay that way throughout the mid-morning hours. so clearing coming in around the bay and coast a little bit later

this morning, but inland you'll get a boost in those temperatures with a lot of sunshine some haze out there as well beautiful weather for halloween looking at cool conditions, cloudy skies throughout the day and showers with chili readings come tuesday and particularly wednesday and thursday. here's a look at the next couple of days sunny skies, but the fog it's gonna stay along the san mateo coast half moon bay, so pretty cool there maybe 60 more like upper 50s monday morning. mostly cloudy skies the afternoon a few peaks his son. we remain dry throughout the evening hours and tours about three four in the morning some spotty light showers and more organized band. come in by about 10 11 o'clock and then some leftover showers through about the one o'clock hour and you can see right on through tuesday night still some shower activities. so stopping this about wednesday afternoon when this aggressive forecast model wants to bring anywhere from a third of an inch to upwards of almost a half inch

now there's another forecast model that only wants to bring about two tenths of an inch. so perhaps somewhe i two of them and the forecast for the sierra nevada shows that cold air allowing for accumulated snow and that could bring up words of a foot or snow down around kirkwood and incline looking like a snowy scene as we get into perhaps thursday the highs today will range from the mid and upper 60s from san francisco to oakland with low 70s over in the south bay and happy about halloween in the dry conditions here with temperatures on the cool side to start out inland low 60s, but not for long. we'll be dropping through the 50s throughout the bay side. inland areas by eight o'clock and then by 9 o'clock when you're counting that candy it should drop off to the mid 50s and hiding it right from those nasty siblings. they accuweather seven-day forecast for looking at that level one system coming in tuesday and wednesday. here comes the cold air and probably a frost advisory thursday milder by the end of
