we begin tonight with new details on fridays attack. we learned that social media posts by the suspects are a big focus in the investigation. they are described as a strongly antigovernment crypt abc 7 news reporter lena is on top of the developments including an update from the district attorney. >> that is correct. we have learned the suspect who shouted where is nancy after breaking into the home on friday morning also had ties and duct tape in his bag according to two law enforcement sources. the district attorney brooke jenkins also clarifying today the two men it did not appear to know each other before the attack. as a fresh bouquet of flowers sits outside of the pelosi pacific heights home, speaker nancy pelosi is spotted leaving her home early saturday morning while her husband paul is recovering at s.f. general, following friday's attack. >> it was a forced entry into the rear door of the home. and he ultimately did make his

way upstairs, which is where he ultimately confronted mr. pelosi. >> the suspect, 42-year-old david was found with dip ties -- zip ties and duct tape. according to two law enforcement officials briefed on the probe. while jenkins could confirm what was found with, she did clarify the only two people home of the time of the attack were paul pelosi and the suspect. adding that the two men did not know each other. >> at the time that the suspect entered the pelosi home, that he was in fact looking for miss pelosi. the other thing is we want to make it clear that there were only two people in the home of the time that the police arrived. mr. pelosi and the suspect. >> republican leaders such as john dennis chair of the san francisco republican party say it is not fair to make any connections between current gop rhetoric and the assault on paul pelosi. >> i think it's a bad idea to

this interactive proposition voter guide is at abc 7 news.com/election. it shows the arguments for and against each measurement and has helpful break down videos so you can make your vote count. a string of violence in less than three hours overnight has led to at least two deaths in san jose. a man died of a shooting earlier this morning on madera avenue and a witness as it happened during a halloween themed birthday party. then about an hour earlier, san jose officers responded to kaufman court. two men were taken to the hospital suffering from gunshot wounds. one died at the scene. one of the victims died. at this point, police are not releasing details about those shootings in addition to those shootings, san jose police responded to a double stabbing downtown after 1:00 this morning on 1st street near a convention center. two men were taken to the hospital. one was in critical condition while the other was not as seriously hurt. two americans are among those

who died saturday during a deadly crowd surge in south korea. abc news reporter deirdre bolton has details about what led up to the deadly stampede. >> after visiting the site of saturday's deadly crowd surge, south korean president declared a time of national morning. saying this is truly tragic, a tragedy and disaster that should not have happened, took place in the heart of seoul. more than 100,000 people had gathered for halloween festivities. while it is not a traditional holiday and south korea, itecens with young adults. this was the city's largest halloween gathering since the pandemic began. the crowd converged in a narrow sloped alley, the scene quickly erected into chaos. >> i saw in front of me this mass of people running and pushing and moving fast. and screaming. and like panicking. >> authorities say at least 153

people were killed, more than 82 others injured. many in serious condition. >> we did not expect anything like this to happen. if there was already too many people. we were just working on the street. i was getting pushed. i was trying to hold my friend that passed away close to me. >> more than 800 emergency services rushed to the scene according to the national fire agency, the victims were largely young people. any in their 20's. the government set up a temporary office to receive reports of the missing. anxious relatives waited for words on their loved ones. some overcome with grief. the u.s. state department has confirmed two americans were among the 19 foreign nationals who were killed and says it is working to provide assistance to the victims and their families. deirdre bolton, abc news, new york. >> happening tomorrow justices are set to take aim at how colleges consider race in admissions.

i love the participation. along with trick-or-treating, drag queen story hour with kids as you can hear and see was a hit with the kids. garcia is a youth educator based in the bay area. >> i love reading to kids, i love educating while entertaining. it is awesome. >> there were plenty of tricks to entertain the crowd along with facepainting and a costume contest for the kids. over in the east bay halloween took center stage along with fruits and vegetables of the season. it was the last event for the san ramon doherty station farmers market. today's activity included a guess my pumpkin weighing contest along with pumpkin decorating. there was a costume parade and goodie bags for the kids. food vendors decorated stalls with spooky signs and there were plenty of tasty treats as well for all of those market goers. a special birthday was celebrated today in the east bay. a neighborhood staple marks 101

oakland, 65 in san jose. we have a beach hazard statement that will begin at 5 a.m. tomorrow morning. active ocean current and northwest swell that will bring high risk of recurrence and sneak a ways before monday. overnight we have fog along the coach that will spill in in and around the shoreline. our coldest cities from napa down to 53 in the city, 50 in oakland, 49 in redwood city first thing tomorrow morning. here is future weather. tomorrow morning when you wake up you will see sunshine and cloud cover. it is a partly sunny day tomorrow, cooler afternoon. by 11 a.m. we are climbing to the 50's into the low 60's. by 5 p.m. we will see our warmest spots in the upper 60's near 70 degrees. you will chop five or six degrees offer more we were today and that is what it feels like tomorrow. 60 in the city, 64 oakland, 66 san jose, 71 santa rosa, 67 concord and cool on the coast. half moon bay at 57 degrees. everything is looking ok for trick-or-treaters tomorrow. here's the forecast tomorrow evening.

partly cloudy skies, the sun goes down at 6:11. temperatures falling through the 50's as the evening goes on. by tuesday though, we bring back the exclusive abc 7 storm impact scale. it's a level one system we are tracking tuesday into wednesday. scattered showers, light accumulation and breezy and chilly conditions by thursday. rainfall estimates, a good estimate for a lot of us between a tent and a quarter of an inch of rain it tuesday into wednesday. will not be raining the entire time. scattered showers, nice to see stormy weather coming back to the picture. a winter storm watch is in effect for the sierra but i 5000 feet we will see three to eight inches of snow great highest peaks likely a foot of snow. travel certainly will be difficult as the snow comes down. those gusty winds as well. we will keep an eye on the storm as it moves into the sierra. here is the accuweather 7 day forecast. the next seven days a cooler afternoon on halloween, showers on tuesday and wednesday. there is that cold air moving in on thursday morning. we will keep an i out for record those possible.
