it comes as court documents reveal chilling new details about what prosecutors claim the suspect was allegedly planning after the attack. lena holland live in san francisco with more on this. >> morning. the resources familiar with the matter tell abc news that the u.s. capitol police, which is responsible for providing security for house speaker nancy pelosi, did have cameras outside of the pelosi home here in pacific heights. but apparently, they were not being monitored at the time of the attack. nancy pelosi was in washington, d.c. when this happened, those sources say it wasn't until they saw police lights flashing that they rewound the video and saw the break in. it is unclear whether or not the cameras should have been monitored at the time. we are told typically when the speakers out of the area, the cameras are not monitored 24/7. court documents say the suspect,

david depape, was quoted saying he's sick of the level of lies coming from washington, d.c. nt came here to have a little chat with house speaker nancy pelosi. >> absolutely>> i consider him to be dangerous. he sought out the speaker and in turn, when he could not locate her, turned his violence towards her husband. >> we are going to be looking into mr. depapae, his mental state. i'm not going to talk any further of that until i have more information to speak more accurately. >> that was adam lipson, the public defender for david depape , who just meant his detriment his client yesterday when -- who just met his client yesterday. this man targeted several other targets, including a professor, state and federal politicians and their relatives.

man with narcissistic and sociopathic characteristics and a strong desire for money. chia died by suicide in jail on friday. >> i didn't have any sadness or emotions towards the news of my father passing. for me, it's been like a huge, ominous monkey off my back. >> investigators say chia hired hasheem bason in a murder for hire scheme. bason is now facing charges. chia arranged xu's accounts and her state worth up to $14 million into his name. reggie: the wet start to november is dampening some fire season fears but we are not out of the woods yet. experts say there's still the potential for high winds. the campfire happened in november 2010. the thomas fire tore through 1000 structures in december of 2017. >> the saturating rain will keep the fine feels very wet probably

up with waiting for their money and some are even quitting. some say it has deterred new people from applying to work and it's been distracting them from their work with students. teachers plan to gather outside the sf usd headquarters at 2:30 this afternoon. >> in the north bay, five teenagers are facing attempted murder charges for a stabbing outside of an elementary school in novato. two teenagers were stabbed after school hours last month. one was critically injured. police say the suspects include three 13-year-olds and two 15-year-olds, a 19-year-old who was also arrested. reggie: some outdoor partly it's in palo alto may have to go away. they may have to get consent from neighboring businesses to keep them. some business owners said they are covering signage or blocking accessibility. palo alto city staff hope businesses can work things out among themselves without getting the city involved. one café owner does not think that is a good solution.

local elected leaders are responding. lena howland live in san francisco. many are warning we should tone down the political rhetoric fueling threats of violence. >> that's right. after the attack on paul pelosi in the middle of the night here inside of his pacific heights home, calls from other local political leaders and national political leaders as well continue to grow in terms of putting out calls for change. data from the u.s. capitol police threat assessment team shows that threats against lawmakers have more than doubled since 2017. some, like representative eric swalwell, have been very open about ongoing threats to not just themselves but also their families. following pelosi's attack, local leaders say the divisiveness needs to stop and they are putting out a warning to tone down the political rhetoric fueling threats and violence. ro khanna says immediate steps need to be taken. >> it is probably impractical to
