been reported that twitter is keeping on some employees like paying them for 60 days through the beginning of january. they won't actually be working right but they get the salary benefits, but she says even that doesn't get them out of the 60 day warning notification law employees are entitled also to $500 per day if the warn act was violated. state senator scott weiner called the mass layoffs at twitter deeply concerning releasing a statement saying quote while companies periodically engage in layoffs to acknowledge economic realities firing a full half of employees goes well beyond that i see trouble ahead for twitter its users and our democracy. now there is a push for advertisers to pull their ads from twitter and today representatives from seven organizations, including glad and the anti-defamation league started the stop toxic twitter campaign saying musk's layoffs put brand safe guards and content moderation standards in jeopardy. given the actions in the past few days and especially the math playoffs today.
4:05 pm
it's become clear that he will not that he's not going to continue to moderate content. or at least not to the effect necessary. so we are calling for a global pause. well today musk tweeted twitter has had a massive drop in revenue due to activist groups pressuring advertisers, even though nothing has changed with content moderation. was not just twitter zendesk has warned san francisco city officials that it will be laying off 84 employees in california on january 6th yesterday lift and stripe announced layoffs in amazon said it was freezing hiring in addition. dapper labs is letting 22% of its staff go dafra has developed nft platforms for the mba and nfl this comes on top of a mixed jobs report 261,000 jobs were added in october. that's the good news, but despite that the unemployment rate climb slightly to 3.7% even
