researchers say if we want to achieve that, the world will have to cut greenhouse gas omissions by about 1.4 billion tons a year. this comes as the climate change conference continues in egypt. president biden says the administration is putting funding where its mouth is. abc news reporter marcus moore has this story from egypt. >> on the first stop of a multi-leg international tour, u.s. president joe biden spoke with world leaders here, announcing the u.s. is pledging millions of dollars to support smaller countries and their efforts. the president highlighting efforts in the u.s., including billions of dollars in funds to support the innovation and the transition to clean energy in the u.s. and he said companies winning to do business with the u.s. government will be required to measure carbon emissions.

abc news reporter andrea fuji has the details. >> the discovery undersea of a large section of the space shuttle challenger floated more than three decades ago -- that exploded three decades ago. >> divers for a history channel documentary found the piece searching for world war ii wreckage. nasa confirmed it is part of the shuttle that broke apart shortly after lift off. >> the discovery of this piece was mixed emotions. first reflecting back on 1986 and the loss of our colleagues, friends, and heroes, but it is also a sense of discovery. >> since some of it is buried under the sand, the true size is not clear yet. it is one of the biggest pieces of challenger found since the accident.

so far, 47% of the entire shuttle has been recovered. it was determined that challenger was brought down by seals that eroded due to the cold temperature. they will determine how to safely remove the wreckage and learn from it for future missing -- asians. the family members of the crew asked for privacy. the documentary airs november 22. >> a veterans day event in danville, the veterans memorial building is hosting an open house featuring a space-themed pop-up museum from moon rocks to model rockets among the featured exhibits inside the building.
