moving forward finding solutions. this is abc 7 news. a deadly bombing in the heart of istanbul killing at least six people this morning turkey's president calling it a treacherous attack. good morning everyone. thanks for joining us here on sunday, november 13th. i'm liz skirts here with drew tomb of this morning. good to see you. we're gonna have more on that developing news in just a moment, but drew, let's start with the weather in a really nice day shaping up. yeah, the sun's out were warming up. it was a chilly start to our day a temperatures right now. we're in the 40s and 50, so it's getting more comfortable as the morning goes on a live. look. this is santa cruz right now a couple of folks enjoying the coast right now. here's how the day shapes up. we have tons of sunshine out there from start to finish mid 50s by lunchtime later on this afternoon. we'll max out in the mid 50s to low 60s, but do be aware if you are going to the coast today a beach hazard statement starts in less than an hour at 10 am here because we have a northwest early swell that is picking up that brings us the higher risk of rip currents and sneak away. so we do have dangerous swimming

and surfing conditions if you're headed to the coast never turn your back to the water the next 24 hours with this hazard statement. well take a look at that our forecast a lot of sunshine on the way through the week ahead. we'll have the extended forecast in a few minutes. all right. true. thanks developing news. the president of turkey is calling that explosion today on a popular pedestrian street in istanbul a terrorist attack. he confirmed at least six people were killed and more than 50 people hurt. this happened near tacks some square which is one of the city's busiest areas for shopping and tourism this video shows people running. it's unclear. what caused this blast the turkish president attributed the explosion to a bomb attack. he said the perpetrators would be punished without accusing any specific group of being behind it in the south bay police or investigating a dangerous side show spectacle overnight in san jose with cars doing donuts and setting off fireworks the stunts drew spectators to multiple areas, including the intersection of south 7th and

east virginia street another side. show is also spotted on monterey highway and branham lane witnesses. say san jose police officers were able to box and hundreds of drivers and according to police about 500 people were detained 19 cars were impounded they also issued more than 700 citations. please say they recovered a handgun and two stolen vehicles. they are still towing cars this morning and they are investigating a report of someone being carjacked at gunpoint. so a lot going on there in the south bay meantime, let's get to the latest election results in san francisco. supervisors race gordon marr is pulling ahead for the first time. matt dorsey's lead is shrinking he now stands at about 10% prop d. the measured a fast track affordable housing continues to lose voters prop m the new tax on bank at homes is gaining ground and in the school board race, and shoe is still ahead of elitea fisher by just under 2000 votes some 82,000 votes still need to be counted.

meantime democrat catherine cortez. masto has won her race for re-election in nevada and this victory means democrats will remain in control of the senate regardless of what happens in next month's runoff in georgia in 2016 cortez. masto became the first latina elected to the senate. control of the house still remains undecided this morning now earlier this morning on this week, george stephanopoulos. spoke one-on-one with speaker of the house nancy pelosi. she said that her husband paul pelosi continues to improve every day following the tack on him at their home. last month. stephanopoulos also asked pelosi about the election results that are still coming in the democrats victory in retaining control of the senate and avoiding a so-called red wave. it was a not anything that we ever accepted when the pundits in washington said we couldn't win because history history elections are about the future. i'm very proud of our candidates the value of a woman's right to choose a new how important it

crash between the boeing b-17 flying fortress and a bell p63 king cobra. the b-17 normally has a crew of four to five that was what was on the aircraft and the p63 is a single piloted fighter type aircraft. this is the seventh year. this event has been held in dallas without any issues until now hank coats is the ceo of the comm. air force this is a war two flight demonstration type air show where we highlight the aircraft and their capabilities and what actually happened in world war two. it's very patriotic the maneuvers that they were going through were not dynamic at all. it was what we call bombers on parade organizers estimate between 4 and 6,000 people were around when the collision occurred but say no bystanders were injured what struck me was how strange it was that the pilot of the or dove in a way that that indicated he didn't think anybody else was around the ntsb has an awful lot of

questions. why did the pilots of these various airplanes not know where each other were who was in the wrong place? media gal abc news dallas, texas happening tomorrow nearly 50,000 university of california workers are planning to walk off the job and this includes researchers postdoctoral scholars teaching assistance and graders at all of uc's 10 campuses one person on the bargaining team says some workers are making as little as 24,000 a year. they're struggling to afford housing and they want better pay child care and other benefits uc says it is bargained in good faith throughout the negotiations process. if both sides though cannot come to an agreement. tomorrow's strike could shut down some classes and labs just weeks ahead of final exams in december. san jose mayor sam licardo joined us leaders at this year's cop 27 summit in egypt focus on combating climate change. the mayor was part of the local governments for sustainability delegation cities are responsible for more than 70% of

working properly the 1.6 billion dollar project stretches 1.7 miles. it will connect san francisco's downtown areas to chinatown through four stations we can only service starts next saturday, november 19th before full services begin on january 7th. if you're heading to the coast today, there is an increased risk of sneaker waves and strong rip currents. it may look calm at san francisco's ocean beach when you head out, but there is a beach hazard warning in place from 10 am today through 10 am tomorrow among the affected beaches san francisco the north bay including the point raise national seashore the peninsula as well as southern monterey bay and the big sur coast make sure you stay further away from the water and never turn your back on the ocean and drew. this is something you've been repeating all morning for folks because actually the weather is nice enough people may go to the beach. yeah, they go to the coast and of course just be aware of that active ocean current by the way. the ocean water temperature right now is about 50 40 degrees. so if you step your feet in
