turn now to the two disturbing crimes rocking two separate university campuses in idaho, four students were apparently murdered near the university of idaho and in virginia, shooting on a bus left three university. virginia football players dead. we have new details on both cases. but in both the motive remains a mystery. overnight shock and sadness on the campus of the university of virginia student is accused of killing three members of the football team. i think that this whole community. will forever be changed. the players were on this bullet riddled bus returning from a class trip when authorities say christopher darnell jones jr opened fire, killing devin chandler, lovell, davis junior and sean perry, the university police chief, learned of jones's arrest in the middle of a news conference moment. thank god. previous side of relief. jones is a former member of the football team. it's unclear why he allegedly opened fire on the bus, the police chief revealed jones was already

on their radar, saying the university's threat assessment team learned about jones in september after someone said he had boasted about having a gun. the chief also said jones faced a previous hazing investigation. i don't know the facts and circumstances that investigation . i know that it was eventually closed due to ah witnesses that would not cooperate with the process. meanwhile across the country authorities near the university of idaho are investigating the death of four students and what a local official calls a crime of passion. police in the city of moscow, idaho, were called to an off campus house for an unconscious person. when they arrived. officers say they found the students dead. three women and one man ages 20 and 21. investigators have not revealed how the students died, only calling their deaths, homicides overnight, police told the idaho statesman. they're searching for a suspect, but authorities have said there is no ongoing risk to the community until we have the details of sort of what the caused the police to think it
