kristen: how much time could he face with each federal charge? >> the federal attempt charge holds up 20 -- 220 years in prison with free years release. and the maximum sentence is 30 years in prison. with the state charges it fans between five years and life -- it spans between five years and life. dan: a federal judge dismissed half of the charges against bill jean hobbs a man accused of stalking multiple women in the city. he is connected to 14 cases of assault, unwanted touching -- and today a judge dismissed many of the charges citing insufficient evidence. the judge is permitting prosecutors to continue the case with one federal charge and 12 this demeanors. hobbs is back in court november

attendants from american airlines want a wage increase. the union says travel has returned to the pandemic levels with fewer light attendants. >> we want to make sure we are provided a living wage contract. and one that is good for everybody out there online. kristen: the strike is taking place at 11 airports across the country a statement from american airline says we continue to work with the flight attendant to reach an agreement that meets their needs and our operation. dan: nearly 50,000 university of california workers are on day two of a strike. the union says it's the largest higher education strike in u.s. history. kristen: they have a full 30 days to work their ballot count to the state. it is not unusual for it to take this loan but what is different is the number of tight races this year and the rapid rise in vote by mail. >> there are still millions of ballots to be counted after the elections. it is due to a combination of factors. >> generally it is something that does not become headline news. that it is taking a long time to count outlets -- ballots but a couple of things have happened. >> a couple of them are too close to call. >> the long tail of the voting process is visible when it is impacting bigger races. >> it wants to go full 30 days to get a raise for our primary controller area and that is due to boat by mail.

-- vote by mail. tim depree says his office received many vote by mail ballots as they did leading up to it and they say each one takes time to process. >> we have to go through a signature checking process and sort them in precinct order. if you imagine taking 200,000 ballots and sorting them in a particular order they are all randomly mixed together. >> spokesperson for the santa clara county register voters a that it was mailed out on election today -- day and they are still waiting to receive that. >> we are still counting those that are coming in. >> they believe the turnout election for in person will be 50%. this will likely equate to 11 million voters. >> historically that is a large number. 50% may not sound like

it is a lot, but we have 2 million more actual voters registered than we did in 2018. we have 5 million more registered voters than we did in 2014. kristen: 11 million is a lot of voters and that is because of the increased voter registration in the state. this year turnout is nowhere near them midterms of 2018 -- which was a record of the midterm election. mitchell says this is likely because of the nonmajor competitive ticket races on the ballot this year. kristen: we are expecting another update today on oaklands race. it is narrowing a bit. front runner florin taylor has about 2% of the vote and shin towel has 80% of the vote. -- the allegheny county registrar says is the fastest vote by mail ballots which is
