concord, oakland, fairfield, santa rosa. 67 in san jose. 68 degrees in livermore. many of these temperatures are either or -- at or above average for this time of year as we check out the 24 hour temperature change, it is running warmer than it was yesterday at this time by five degrees in santa rosa, san jose, most areas are up. it is the offshore wind that brought the warmth. mount diablo gusting to 38 miles per hour. winds will remain higher in the hills as we have this set up here, high pressure off the pacific northwest. lower pressure down toward southern california. the wind flowing from the heights of the low. we are pretty much getting that northeasterly wind. down south, the wind is stronger. that is why we have high wind warnings. we also have a red flag going up as it will be not only strong when they are expecting but the lower humidity. that means fire danger will remain elevated to since they did not get as much rain and

the hills early on. those temperatures in the mid 30's to upper 40's this morning, the north bay valley's temperatures that were either at freezing or just pull because of the winds, i don't expect it to get quiet as cold but you will still need that extra layer. tomorrow afternoon, 67 in san jose. on the peninsula you're looking at 66 in mountain view. san francisco, a nice day at 65 degrees. if you want clear skies, you have it in the northbay. santa rosa, 68 here. in the east bay, 67 in oakland, fremont. these temperatures coming down a little bit as the offshore wind will die down early on tomorrow morning and those temperatures will be a little bit lower. 70 in fairfield. 67 in livermore. you will notice that tomorrow is the mildest day. it will be a nice one. morning fog giving way to a cooler thursday and then temperatures drop back only to bounce back over the weekend.

bringing in the possibility of a few showers. monday night, northbay, tuesday, across any part of the bay area. >> after months of delays, nasa's first step of a mission to get back to the moon will launch in just a few hours. it will be a test run of the artemis rocket to see if it is safe to send humans to the moon for the first time since the apollo mission. dustin dorsey spoke with one of the bay area bay scientists who is anxiously waiting to see her work in action. >> you know what they say, better late than never. when you're dealing with a mission to the moon that could change the future of space travel for the entire world, you're not going to let a few delays stop you. >> each time it is delayed, it is like it is time to get it off the ground. >> that is the space launch system rocket named orion. the most powerful rocket ever developed by nasa. it is part of the artemis mission. it aims to return astronauts to the moon and even beyond.

event. still, it can be really challenging. chris particularly during our recent drought with long dry spells giving some pollutants a chance to build up in the storm water system and the teams measurements and data helps local agencies make critical decisions on keeping the public safe from significant health hazards. quick sometimes that is cleaning up sites that could have a lot of toxic illusion on them or sometimes it is making regulations or policies at the local level such as a plastic bag ban. >> we want to make sure it is a good mix of bay water and fresh water. >> they are also taking samples to compare the mix of the polluted runhe sensitive organis and fish live. it is a hectic form of science performed on a deadline but over nearly two decades of collected data, they have helped load and understanding of pollution
