lena howland is in pittsburgh with what we are learning. lena: good morning. all lanes of highway four have since reopened. they just reopened a little more than one hour ago. this crash has already been cleaned up and both cars have been towed away. i want to go to video of what this looked like only a couple of hours ago. both cars involved appear to be completely mangled. this was called in after midnight after reports of a wrong way driver heading eastbound in the westbound lanes of state road four. chp, i just got off the phone with a spokesman who says three kids and one adult were killed in the car which was a right -- a white hyundai. the driver hit in suv going the right direction, also killed on the scene.

i talked to a spokesman for chp only about 30 minutes ago. he told me any adult with three kids in the car was going the wrong way on highway four when they hit another suv that only had a single driver in it, leaving all five people dead on scene. the crash has been cleaned up but here is a look at the scene only a couple of hours ago. both cars appeared to be completely mangled. the wrong way driver was in a white hyundai. that is the con investigators say hit a white ford flex. this was called in after midnight as a report of a wrong way driver heading eastbound and the westbound lanes of state road four east of loveridge road. reggie:-- >> our units arrived on scene and observed pretty much what we determined is a head-on collision. right now we have five victims. >> their condition?
