the east of us as a trough works its way down from the north to the south to the east of us and that is a perfect set up for an offshore flow. you notice a few clouds but that has not inhibited the cooling throughout the overnight hours. we are chili with 37 walnut creek, 39 in pleasant hill, and milder numbers in the city. novato down to 36. we have aligned to thank for that. 20 miles an hour to the north and east of us. there is also concern for low relative humidity. wind advisory tomorrow throughout delta and fairfield. guests about 60 miles per hour. we are sunny and warming up quicker. by noon we could see 70's to the north bay. we will cool off quickly tonight and over the weekend. we will talk in more detail

about that coming up. kumasi: today elizabeth holmes will officially hear her sentence. prosecutors have asked a judge to sentence her to 15 years in prison but her legal team is asking for much less. the case gained national attention and is now focused in a san jose courtroom and that is where we find abc 7 reporter ryan. ryan: quite a bit of back-and-forth with this one. she faces up to 20 years for her fraud convictions. the prosecution once a sentence of round 15 years and her team wanting something much less, they only want 18 months. we will have to wait to see what the judge does for the sentence. court filings show they are asking for that sentence in the reverse of what the prosecution wants. those are very different sides coming from them. prosecutors say she deserves a

lengthy sentence because she duped prosecutors -- she duped people out of hundreds of millions of dollars by falsely claiming her company had revolutionary blood testing. defense says she already paid the price for her time and continues to pay the price. >> i think the court will be looking at the low end of two to three years and on the high end of seven to eight or nine years. just my guess. ryan: holmes does have quite a bit of support. they sent 150 letters to the judge, appealing about the type of person she is. one of those letters came from new jersey senator cory booker who says they met at a party. that gives you an idea about some of the support on her side. the judge has to consider the fact that court documents say she is pregnant. that is something that will take into account as they go about

the sentence. we will have to wait and see what that is. life in san jose, ryan curry, abc 7 news. reggie: a new video shows a building with a big hole at its side and cars with significant damage in oakland. this happened around 12:30 this morning near montana street not far from interstate 580. it is not clear what happened. we do have calls from the police department. and there is growing concerned we could be in the beginning of another covid surge. at least one city is pushing people to wear masks again inside. jobina: public health officials in los angeles are now strongly recommending people mask up indoors as cases continue to go up in that area, and here in the bay area officials are waiting to see if there will be a winter search. the chronicle is reported higher levels of immunity due to vaccinations and higher immunity

it broke out not far from concord high school. they say the fire was intentionally set. one neighbor who did not want to be identified said he is thankful the flames do not spread to other homes. >> the ash, you guys would not have believed it, it looked like glitter from all of the embers. >> fires were set at multiple locations on the property. that is kind of scary to me. i do not like hearing that. kumasi: the victim's brother tells abc7news's brother was a 76-year-old and owned the house. family members say they do not know of any possible motive for the fire. reggie: north korea has fired another ballistic missile off the coast of japan. this had potential to reach the u.s. mainland. the u.s. was quick to condemn the launch, promising to take all necessary measures to ensure the safety of the united states.

widened her lead by four percentage points over terry wiley. the race for oakland mayor keeps getting closer. the lead is now within 500 votes. county officials say vote counting is taking so long because there are so many mail-in ballots that came in very close to election day. >> a lot of pressure on us to process a couple hundred thousand votes as quickly as we could. we'll be looking at processes we could put in place and even equipment that could help us since this is the new normal. reggie: there are more than 60,000 votes left account but the registrar says most of them should be done by the end of today. kumasi: the layoffs will continue amazon into the new year. the company's ceo says it is in the process of eliminating 10,000 jobs, although the total number of people who will lose their jobs permanently is fluid,
