fiancé of drug kroening white kent who called 911 as the gunfire erupted. >> i am angry because this man took my friends. took the man i saw the rest of my life with. >> for the first time we are seeing video of the suspected shooter surrendering to police during a 2021 arrest for making bomb threats against his own mother. in a live stream video since deleted you can see him wearing body armor before that arrest and hear him making threats. >> sources telling abc news the case was dismissed because his family refused to cooperate with law enforcement. therefore not showing up on the required background check for the weapon he purchased the police a was used in this attack. that suspect still is in the hospital tonight and he is expected to be charged once he is released. i am morgan norwood abc news colorado springs. >> as you can imagine people who live and work in san francisco's castro district are still

struggling to process that deadly attack in colorado springs. we spoke with customers and owners of a number of castro businesses about this tragedy. for those that run the numerous bars and nightclubs in the area, the colorado springs attack hits close to home. chris hastings is the owner of the lookout where he says security guards are on duty seven nights a week. >> i don't know what else we could do beyond what we are already doing. because this is not the first time this is happened, because threats like this are something we hope we never have to deal with directly but anticipate. >> hastings says his staff has been doing active shooting trainings since the polls shooting in florida six years ago. then there is this scene, the marquee spelling out the same message written at the memorial outside of club q reading love overheat. these events can take a real toll on all of us and if you or
