when they arrived on scene they founded 36 year old man on the ground who was shot in the head . police believe this was likely a botched robbery. there was surveillance video of the incident. which captured too male suspects wearing dark clothing and an unknown vehicle. they have not been apprehended at this time. couple of times

merchandise was stolen from a camera shop in an armed robbery near san francisco's union square. take a look. surveillance from the area shows four individuals get out of a gray sedan at about 1 20 this afternoon near bush and grant these images used in the police investigation show at least one suspect with a firearm. enter the liquor store. one person is holding a tool and you can also see the smashed display cases. timestamp on the video shows the suspect returned to the set sedan less than three minutes later, and just days ago mayor london breed and sfpd chief scott assured the public of additional safety measures for the area. multiple sources. tell me $20,000 in damages were also caused by the robbery. sfpd says anyone with additional information is asked to come forward. driver is recovering tonight after getting attacked and. last night video captured the bus going on a wild ride and barreling through the mission district. san francisco police say the suspect boarded at courtland and mission at about

eight pm and attacked the driver . he then got behind the wheel and took off hitting at least 10 vehicles before coming to a stop at 19th and guerrero. police then arrested the suspect, who was said to have minor injuries . the bus was empty the entire time. well, it is small business saturday, a day when local business owners remind you to do your holiday shopping away from malls and big retailers to support the local economy. abc seven news reporter cornell bernard shows us how one city in the north bay even made it snow to attract shoppers. a winter wonderland brought to life on san raffles fourth street. with a little help from the snow making machine. two blocks of downtown were closed to cars on small business saturday, a chance to hang some tinsel and invite shoppers down to explore and expensive cash. one opportunity to support people who are creating art and. you

be reinstated until they formed a moderation council with diverse viewpoints that would consider cases. the professor says that would be problematic as well in that any board or panel could be full of biases. moving onto the south bay, san jose city leaders are using this holiday travel weekend as an indicator for how the economy is rebounding from the pandemic. the estimate 430 8000 passengers will travel through san jose international airport through the weekend. that's about up 40% since last thanksgiving, while the increase in passengers is a good sign aviation has not fully returned to pre-pandemic levels. this year's passenger count is still nearly down 21% compared to thanksgiving of 2019, just about three months before the covid shut down. san jose city leaders are also considering the plan that would turn to vta locations into housing for the homeless. at the council is scheduled to discuss those plans tuesday, they are looking into converting

the light rail yard in north san jose and the caudal station. the housing sites would be temporary with built ttuld provs people a private room and bathroom along with supportive services to help them find permanent housing. a boat crashed against rocks near alcatraz this morning. take a look, a man, woman and three dogs were on the boat when it hit the rocks known as a little alcatraz. the san francisco fire department and coast guard responded shortly after, all passengers were safe and the boat was recovered with no danger to the environment. to the north bay, where one of dozens of tributes were held today to the legendary cartoonist who created charlie brown and the rest of the peanuts gang. >> charles schultz would have turned 100 years old today. to celebrate his legacy the museum named in his honor in santa rosa debuted a new exhibit.

northern california. it will break up, they may bring us a few clouds but as we get into tuesday and wednesday we will see that the cold air coming down from that region will spill into the bay area. we will have some frosty mornings on tuesday and wednesday and then a more energetic cold front sweeps and wednesday, into thursday. we expect some rain on thursday and maybe some showers on friday and possibly rain at into saturday from this system. we'll keep an eye on it to let you know how vigorous we think it is going to be. onto tonight's lowe's, under mainly clear skies with some mid to low 40's. chilly in places like santa rosa, fairfield where we will see low 30's. highs tomorrow -- low to mid 60's around the bay shoreline. it mainly mid-60's inland and one or two locations like santa rosa or morgan hill might get into the upper 60's. here's your seven-day forecast, cooling continues on monday with inland highs only around 62.

now to a remarkable rescue at sea. a guest on a carnival cruise ship is back on solid ground tonight, recovering after falling overboard. and managing to tread water for about 15 hours. we have more on this story -- >> the dramatic rescue captured on camera. the coast guard spotting the 28-year-old cruise ship passenger with his head barely bobbing above water. frantically waving his arms, hoping to be spotted. >> to be out in the middle of the ocean treading water for upwards of 15 hours is incredible. >> the circumstances around the fall is still unclear, the carnival cruise ship alerting the coast guard of a possible man overboard around 2 p.m. thursday after his sister alerted the ship he did not return to his room the night before. >> we essentially came up with a search plan to systematically cover the ocean, looking for the

individual we assume to falling overboard without a life jacket. and no means of keeping himself afloat other than treading water. >> he was eventually spotted by a ballcarrier 20 miles south of southwest path -- louisiana. >> he did show signs of shock and fatigue and dehydration so they ended up needing emergency services stateside and he was transported to another level of care. >> and his statement the ship said they retraced their route -- and it provided assistance to the family member who remained on board. then continued its journey -- abc news new york. >> unbelievable. new york police rescued demand stuck on subway tracks moments before a train entered into the station. take a look as officers lifted them into safety, you can see a train approaching seconds later. the two police officers worked on the platform when passengers from the opposite side alerted them that a man had fallen onto the tracks.

both officers ran upstairs and across the street to get to the other side, all bystanders tried to help. the men received medical treatment from a third officer as they waited for emergency officials to arrive. he was taken to a hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries. federal and local friends of teams wrapped up their crime scene investigation today after the walmart shooting in chesapeake virginia. a night manager shot and killed six store employees during a meeting and then use the gun to shoot himself on tuesday night. investigators turn the store back over to walmart corporate but future plans for the establishment are unknown. city leaders will hold a meeting monday to confirm funding to support recovery. an alarming incident unfolded on a jetblue flight from new york to salt lake city, a passenger is accused of threatening the woman who was seated next to him with a razor blade. he was arrested after the flight, landed in utah. here is abc news reporter.

>> a utah man is facing federal assault charges after allegedly bringing a straight edge razor blade on board a jetblue flight and threatening a passenger. >> jetblue 1409, one male passenger threatening another passenger with a pocket knife. >> federal prosecutors say 41-year-old merrill was in a window seat next to a woman when he placed his hand on her screen and told her to pause or movie. she told police she noticed he had a razor blade inches from her throat. >> i actually do not know what he had in his hand until afterward when i saw the police report that said he had a straight edge razor. >> she said she longed for the aisle and he tried to stop her by grabbing her shoulder, her husband who was sitting next to her alerted flight attendants. a fellow passenger described the terrifying scene. >> he makes this announcement you don't have to worry, she is going to be ok.
