plane lodged about 100 ft in the air into some high tension, power lines, slamming nose first into a transmission tower about 5 30 sunday evening at 12 25. the first patient was coming out of the aircraft and coming down to the ground. the second patient. i was out and coming down at 12 36. william smouse lives nearby and says he initially dismissed the seriousness of the accident until a witness told him what happened. so you heard i heard a big crash, big boom and everything. and so it's unfortunate the pilot and passenger able to talk to rescuers are still in regular contact with with the folks in the aircraft. so the single engine plane coming from white plains, new york, was apparently headed to montgomery county airpark about a mile away. the impact knocking out power to some 120,000 customers and leaving the occupants on board dangling precariously. we can see the light in the cockpit. of

the cell phone from the pilot. the rescue operation, a delicate one involving multiple crews, working to secure the plane and ultimately bring it down, but first power crews had to make sure the powerful electrical current to the wires was shut off, which means crews have to go up to the wires themselves. to put clamps or cables onto the wires to ensure that there's no static electricity, no residual power. the ntsb and the faa will investigate the crash to determine the cause. as for the pilot and the passenger onboard , authorities say they were taken to local hospitals with serious injuries. derek dennis abc news new york derek thank you. residents of houston, the nation's fourth largest city, have been told to boil their tap water before using it is in response to a power outage at a purification plant. the mayor hopes the boil order can be lifted by tonight. city schools

are criticizing trump. well certainly needs better judgment and who he dines with. i know that he's issued a statement said he didn't know who those people were very troubling and it shouldn't happen and we need to avoid those kinds of empowering the extremes when you meet with people, um, power and that's what you have to avoid. you want to diminish their strength, not empower them. meanwhile the white house responded, saying hate and anti semitism have no place in america. now to the murder mystery and a small college town in idaho. classes are resuming and families of the four victims , along with people throughout the community are struggling with a lack of answers. classes are back in session today at the university of idaho, the first time some students are returning since four of their classmates were brutally stabbed to death inside this off campus home. i think it's important for everybody to come back to campus. but also i understand the fear more than two weeks

after the murders in moscow, idaho, no arrests or murder weapon, and investigators have not revealed a motive now growing signs of fear within the community. police are getting an influx of 911 calls for unusual circumstances or welfare checks for loved ones. and the local locksmith says he's getting 50 calls per day from people wanting deadbolts installed in their homes. it's just an eerie feeling. moscow just doesn't feel the same right now. yes. feel better, uh, until they have somebody. apprehended authorities maintain the killings were targeted, but detectives have not revealed if one or multiple victims were the targets, saying they want to protect the investigation. ultimately, we know that there's a person or persons that is in a community somewhere that has committed four murders, and i think it's important for the public to know that well, they may not see a lot of activity in and out the house. they may not hear about a lot of the different interviews that are

occurring. we're making substantial progress. steve gonsalves, the father of victim , caylee. gonsalves says he had not heard any updates from police for days until he contacted them out of frustration. he says police told him they're still analyzing evidence. now the university is offering remote learning and state police are boosting security on campus. officials in the biden administration are optimistic that cases of rsv and children may have peaked. the respiratory illnesses overwhelmed many hospitals, but doctors are hopeful that relief is coming soon. one bit of good news. just in the last week, we've seen rsv peak and maybe turn down, obviously hopeful that that trend is going to continue. hopefully we're going to see that peak come down because if you look at other countries that have had those kinds of peaks with flu and rsv , it's peaked early, but come down a shortage of amoxicillin aqui antibiotic used to treat children or childhood illness is adding to the problem. dr zhao says they're working to fix

medical emergency call aboard an american airlines flight to los angeles. the crew telling officers they were concerned for the star wide receiver safety after they tried to wake him up so he could fasten his seat belt. the crew allegedly aspect of several times to leave the plane, but authorities say he refused. as a result, all passengers were ordered to deplane, including beckham, who was taken away by police. beckham tweeting never in my life have i experienced what just happened to me? beckham's attorney claims the flight attendant responsible was overzealous, saying in a statement. mr beckham fell asleep with his blanket over his head, which is his normal practice for long flights. sleeping on a plane should not be a cause for removal of a flight. if they could wake him up. when the flight returned to the gate, then they could have done the same thing and woken him up to ask him to put on his seatbelt at no time. was mr beckham disruptive or combative. but according to miami dade police, the american airlines crew tried to wake him to fasten his seat belt, but he appeared to be coming in and out of consciousness, fearing that mr beckham was seriously ill. the
