or live chat at calhope.org today. tightening its grip tonight during frosty warnings are winning us this week, and that is not all that is in the forecast. good evening. thank you for joining us. i am dan ashley. the cold temperatures are already moving in. here's a live look across the bay tonight. we are getting ready to dip to near freezing temperatures or below in some spots actually. let's get right to abc7news meteorologists with what is happening now. sandy? >> we are noticing the chill in the air. it is almost december and tomorrow it will feel like it. look at the temperatures, low 40's for the coldest spots like fairfield at this hour, 41 degrees in los altos.

as we go hour-by-hour tomorrow morning, 4:00 near freezing and some cities inland. freezing at seven in santa rosa. this is not with the temperatures bottom out. the winds are playing a role, but not nearly as gusty as earlier today. you are down to 31 in santa rosa. certainly frosty spots. napa and fairfield. cold front came in and brought colder air. no rain with this one, just a colder air mass, but we do have rain chances in the seven-day forecast as our exclusive level 1 storm comes in. it will be to storms. i will be back with a closer look coming up. dan: with the temperature dropping, there is an urgent need to protect the on house from near freezing cold and rain this week. the nonprofit ritter center is working to help the homeless and dogs in cold weather. >> i was on house myself i know

but now i have to drive over to the cvs on the other avenue which is too far to walk. reporter: longtime resident said he visited cvs at least one time a week and the closure cuts the convenience of one-stop shop and easy access to prescription pickup. while we await a response from cvs, the director of san jose's office of economic development and cultural affairs says in part, we understand that the closure is part of a cds company wide initiative and it was nearing the end of its lease. >> the city is saying that it was the lease. >> there's a lot of homeless people here, just insanely a lot. reporter: nearby business owner points to the neighboring hotel which the city purchased earlier this year to address homeless crisis. >> i spent a lot of time across the street watching on my front window and seeing activity that was over here. reporter: scott with red dog fitness had a front row seat to

dan: why ease aquino as hawaii's volcano has a record. the governor spoke with abc news today. >> on a scale from one to 10, how concerned are you about the eruption happening right now. >> right now we are not that concerned. there really is no communities or structures anywhere close to the fissures that are erupting right now. dan: that's encouraging. just last month part of the summit was closed to visitors after a small earthquake. is the biggest active volcano on earth and located on the big island. you have done shopping on cyber monday and it was a huge day for business. experts say it was likely the largest online spending day of all time ever.
