minutes on northbound 101 at lawrence expressway, close to great america parkway as well. you can see this is a serious situation with injuries reported. at one point, all lanes were blocked and now we have three lanes blocked. i can show the impact in terms of speed, 11 miles power right now. chp has not given us a time or when the lanes will reopen but a big issue with bart. the best way to explain that is bart is experiencing an equipment problem that is not allowing them to dispatch trains from the millbrae station. over a 20 minute delay now. this will really impact anyone that relies on that line and we will let you know when we get an update. kumasi: temperatures are

tumbling in some parts of the bay area. it is going to be drive but a storm is on its way this week. lena holland is live in pleasanton. lena: right now it is 36 degrees according to the temperature gauge off of santa rita road. it is only going to get colder as the week goes on with gusty winds and rain come thursday. that is why the race is on to protect the un-housed community from the elements and near freezing temperatures this week. we got a look at how volunteers are getting ready for the storm. they are a nonprofit outreach working on homelessness and estimate there are 1200 unhoused people living on the streets. we were there as they handed out cold-weather supplies to those in need. >> one of the things we do is we

economy. the deadline for something to happen is now less than two weeks away. jobina has more. jobina: sub -- if something doesn't happen by december 9, something could happen. resident biden calling on opposing a contract. it included races, annual bonuses and better health insurance and additional personal leave days but the main sticking point has been about the amount of sick leave available for workers. >> the president has been very clear, shut down is unacceptable because of the impact it would have on jobs and families and farms and is this is across the country. jobina: those impacts would be felt on everything from the food supply to critical chemical supplies are hundreds of business groups sending a letter to congress asking them to intervene.

there is one positive highlight, if you need to shop for gifts for the holidays, you won't be impacted because those were shipped to stores months ago. kumasi: today the california energy commission will hold a meeting to discuss what can be done about high gas prices, two months after the commission commanded answers from oil refineries. no formal action is expected. the commission said no major oil companies will be participating. according to aaa the state average for gas is $5.04. reggie: the oakland police chief is extending the crime strategy. shootings have declined since the new plan was put in place in september. more officers being reassigned to investigate instances of a gun violence. the traffic enforcement unit was also initiated. you hear it all time, people all

lisa: colder air settling in. below freezing in napa. lower 40's closer to the bay. looking at cold air not only settling in today but the wind backing off or wednesday morning. we have sunshine today. temperatures below average. clouds increase on wednesday. rain overnight wednesday into thursday. a sloppy thursday morning commute. the pink indicates freezing temperatures as we get into late on thursday. we could even see black ice for early on friday.

highs today in the mid to upper 50's. jobina: we want to go back to the video we showed you of a sig alert we are following in santa clara. these are images coming from that area on northbound 101 at the expressway ramp. it was reported around 5:00 a.m. we do not have an estimated time as to when the lanes will be open. at least one lane is blocked. injuries were reported in this crash. moving over to the graphics, speed will average 16 miles per hour. the other issue for commuters is if you rely on bart and the millbrae line, over a 20 minute delay. bart is telling us major delays because they are having an equipment problem at the tracks causing them to have issues dispatching trains.
