building a better bay area, moving forward, finding solutions, this is abc 7 news. >> parts of the bay area, waterlogged. we are feeling the effects of several rounds of rain with more to come. thank you for joining us. on storm watch coverage to nine, live doppler 7 tracking more rain to come up with like team coverage this evening with a look at some of the problems that all the wet weather is causing, but first, the accuweather forecast, francis, is timing out the wet weather moving through the bay area. francis: we got a bit of a nice break this afternoon. over the past 24 hours, the rainfall we saw this morning range from a quarter to half an inch. if you look at the stormu e them

and spinning off the coast. check out all the lightning it is bringing off eureka. we could still see a chance of lightning in our area. this storm continues through tuesday morning. we could see showers off and on. we are going to expect an additional tent of an inch, up to an inch. that gives you the spotty nature of where hours are and that slight chance of lightning. i will have the timing of when the waves hit and how much you can expect, coming up. >> rain and chilly temperatures dampen some activities across the bay area. cornell barnard is live in mill valley tonight and tells us that the weather even led to some postponements. reporter: we have seen it rain off and on today. in fact, mountain is barely visible the on the clouds. that rain is a welcome sight, but very challenging if you are trying to plan an event.

a wet sunday money -- morning in the north bay. in the east, this large tree came down saturday, crashing on to at least two cars and damaging others near a her avenue and patterson road in pleasant hill. luckily nobody was hurt. >> we heard a big boom and thought it was a thunderstorm. it was a tree. it fell onto our street. reporter: as the day progressed, dark storm clouds moved across the horizon. the winter because community celebration in mill valley -- ♪ the chan family from san jose made the trip. >> the drive was nice, but we are concerned that these clouds are coming in. hopefully the weather stays good for our time here. so far so good. >> i love winter, i love rain.

speaking of rainbows, francis joins us. not anymore rainbows ahead? francis: i think we will see rainbows monday and tuesday. i will tell you the timing of that and show you the cost animation. right now, we are showing live doppler 7. spotty showers out there right now. some of these not quite making it to the ground. live shot shows the low clouds over the city, so we will be getting some rain heading our way. we have several waves coming through. temperatures are in the mid to upper 50's. in san francisco, 57, oakland, 56. cuyler and half moon bay, 50 4°. in the east bay, looking out west. cooler temperatures in the north bay, that is where we are seeing some low 50's like santa rosa. also in the east bay, temperatures range.

you notice we got a little bit of a break in some sunshine in some spots. temperatures warmed up. compared to 24 hours ago, we are quite a bit warmer in concord and fairfield, travis air force base. a little bit of a nice break. i just want to show you this beautiful view from santa cruz. you can see how gorgeous the sky looks. they will get less rain, because the system that started late husband coming from the northwest. the previous system on thursday really came from the south and hit big sur a lot. here's the forecast headlines. on and off showers through tuesday morning. dry condition afternoon. then it will be chilly and dry all day wednesday. then, another system hubs are way thursday and into the weekend. that system will be similar to the one we are very and sing right now. it will also be a storm at level 1 on our impact scale. tomorrow and tonight, mostly cloudy conditions.

this next wave of rain comes in early tomorrowning for the commute, it could be pretty messy especially on interstate 80. then we have spot at the day, that is when we can see the rainbows. then, another wave and it monday night. that is when we see more moderate rainfall. as the system wraps around and exits the bay area, we will see showers linger into tuesday until midday. here are the rain falls us. they are kind of spread out from .09 inches in fremont, to close to an inch in san francisco. it gives you an idea of the spotty nature of the showers. it can range from what you can get. of course bringing the snow up to the sierra. you do not want to travel. the winter storm warning has been extended until 2:00 tomorrow afternoon. we could still see another up to 2 feet of snow.
