lena howland life in san francisco city hall with the details. and the effort to stop this controversial decision. lena? >> after a large group of activists and poste -- protesters came to city hall to send a bigger message to the board of supervisors that these killer robots just have no place in san francisco we are already hearing that at least one supervisor has changed their mind and plans to reverse their vote during this afternoon's meeting. supervisor saying i do not think removing the humanity of taking a life anze putting it behind a remote control is a responsible step for a municipal police force. i do not think robots with lethal force -- lethal force could prevent or solve crimes. to bring you up to speed the police department has been equipped with robots for 11 years now. bill 481 just signed into law

>> new developments in the effort to fill to city council seats. after more than a six-hour meeting last night the city council has decided against a special election and that is a controversial decision the two seats that need to be felt are vacated by district a councilmember who won a seat on the board of supervisors. abc7news reporter gloria ramirez has the latest on this.

>> hundreds of people chiming in at the special counsel meeting seven city councilman members voting in favor of appointing replacements for the two seats 4 against. this is brand-new video this morning from that meeting. >> this is unprecedented. and i think it brings shame to our city. a group of former employees is suing twitter. a lawyer at a news conference, lisa bloom said she filed a class-action lawsuit saying the company failed to provide a 60 day notice which is required by federal law. he then delivered a message to elon musk the twist on one of his own tweets. >> elon you broke your promises and violated the law. we are coming after you. let that sink in. >> the former employees are accusing musk and twitter have several other violations as well. everything from breach of contract to civil-rights violations. >> facebook is warning that the platform could ban news content in the u.s. if the journalism competition and preservation act passes in congress. we told you yesterday about new zealand considering some alert legislation.
