according to police waters shot the 21 euros victim in the leg while his back was turned on the street in san jose on october 2 two the victim survived suffering a broken femur. authorities are investigating the case as a possible hate crime. waters is white. the victim is black. asking for the public's help to find the killers of two people found dead in separate shootings. a 16-year-old died in a friday night shooting. another man was wounded in that incident. on sunday morning a man was found with gunshot went near east 16th street. he died at the hospital. oakland police chief armstrong says the 16-year-old was a student in oakland schools and he says the district has been notified and grief counselors were called in to speak with students and faculty. chief armstrong says his anti-crime strategy is driving fewer shootings and homicides but the proliferation of guns is

as bad as ever. >> guns are driving violence in a city of oakland to have recovered more than 1300 guns this year. that is a near 20% increase compared to last year. a thousand of those guns are crime guns. guns either being used in crime or have been used in a crime. >> there have been 115 homicides in the city this year. there were 100 ready in oakland at this time last year. >> a 79-year-old woman is warning other seniors after she was abundantly attacked while trying to board a muni bus in san francisco. how often assaults happened lawn public transportation. >> decked out pre-much had e soto in tangier, lisa has more than 30 years in concessions. around 11:00 a.m. on saturday

san francisco picked up an inch and a third. nearly three inches at danville. all around the area, generous rainfall totals. today dating back to october 1 of this is our percentage of normal rainfall. santa rosa a little bit below normal. oakland, sfo and san jose are well above the normal levels. how much snow fell in the sierra? 70 inches at tahoe. 60 at soda springs. nearly 60 inches at palisades tahoe. the skies are clear now. a freeze warning for parts of the bay area tonight. >> in the north bay the storm brought rain along with some encouraging news for our drought thirsty lakes and reservoirs. we saw snow in our highest peaks but driving in it was a challenge. >> the storm brought just about

county watershed. mount tam received at least three inches of rain over the weekend. most of the bay area picked up more than an inch of rain from six inches in ben lomond to three inches on the sonoma coast. >> a lot of reservoir to fill out. >> don seymour from cinema water says water storage at lake sonoma and lake mendocino remain at critical levels. >> i would point out we saw a little improvement in the reservoirs but one significant benefit is there is a lot more natural flow in the system. tributaries have become reconnected with the mainstem russian river. we have chinook salmon coming in to spawn. >> in marin county this rockslide closed northbound lanes of highway 101. it happened near the rodeo exit and took caltrans cruise hours to remove the rocks. check out the overnight snowfall near st. helena. caltrans plows were on duty.

repairs to the keystone pipeline. >> we have our response crews working on responding to the incident and we have ever technical crews looking into the cause. >> new satellite images show workers on site in washington, kansas where nearly 600,000 gallons of oil spilled into a creek last wednesday. nearly enough to fill and olympic sized pool. the pipeline operator says this bill has been contained. the epa saying crews have build a dam downstream to allow the passage of water and to the spill from spreading. no word on a cause. crews from tc energy saying they are investigating along with federal officials. >> we will not restart our system until it is safe to do so and until we have regulatory approval. >> the pipeline carries oil from canada to refineries in the u.s. there are growing concerns the shutdown could jack up prices in

this the u.s. government accountability office says colleges have one of the problems airlines are often cited having lack of transparency in costs. a new study says it is hard to compare pricing between colleges because colleges present cost and financial aid differently from one another. the gao says 91 percent of colleges under state or don't include the net price in their off your spirit federal law does not require colleges to include clear standard information in their financial aid offers. the study suggests colleges congress consider mandating offers -- getting colleges do so. now today it is green monday. the last big sales day of the season. the use of the word green here stands for money. some of the biggest retailers
