abc seven lena howland joining us. >> petaluma police tell 68-year-old virginia for k was last seen 3:30 tuesday wondering off from her home in mountain view in an unknown direction. this is of concern to police as she has dementia and say if she is not found soon she will not survive in the frigid weather. police started looking for her tuesday night and all day yesterday and checked to see if she made it to a home in san rafael. they have a couple new leads they are checking out. >> she possibly was trying to get on a bus and we have some video of her walking northbound on petaluma boulevard. and we are working with our local transit agencies to see if they have video. we are checking with the bus drivers from yesterday. >> virginia is filipina, five

facilities, jails and homeless shelters. the county reported a seven-day daily average of 464 cases. commission tabled a controversial proposal to limit some types of traffic stops. the intention is to reduce racial bias. one thing that could have limited what's called -- what are called pretextual traffic shops, when someone gets pulled over for something minor so offers -- so officers can ask questions about possible criminal activity. some took objection to the commission not taking action. >> when will you take responsibility and address the harsh bias? you took an oath to uphold the law. i am tired, not tired enough to ,ut tired of our concerns falling on deaf ears. >> the commission is planning to revisit the proposal next year. >> the increase in covid, flu and rsv cases does not seem to

the fed is trying to bring down inflation without plunging the economy into recession. we apologize for this video. officials think it will be 2024 before we start to see interest rates come down. to put this in perspective, someone with a $5,000 credit card balance will now spend about $1600 more in interest. >> ok. thank you. detectives in the castro valley area need your help to identify the gunman who shot two men at an apartment complex yesterday morning at the vista creek apartments on center street. two men suffered serious gunshot wounds. the suspects drove off before deputies got there. detectives are looking for additional witnesses and video to identify them. >> new development after the closure of san francisco's controversial tenderloin center. some officials are challenging the mayor's decision and moving forward with plans of your own.

ri theoa serso alnged the decision to close the site. hillary ronen is proposing allocating 5.5 million dollars to open wellness hubs for people to be able to use drugs under supervision. the mayor once supported those hubs but now has concerns. >> the federal issues relating to this kind of operation, including potential liability for city employees, the possibility of people losing medical or legal licenses and other challenges. >> supervisor roff aleman would is skeptical of the the chronicle has reported that staff reversed 300 overdoses and no one died. meanwhile, the city attorney office says it would support a nonprofit operating the wellness hubs.

the federal reserve hiked interest rates by 50 basis points yesterday. >> the alame couy has announced a $2 million settlement with the company that owned stores like t.j. maxx and home goods. they were accused of putting hazardous waste into trash cans that went to municipal landfills that were not designated for those materials. it includes things like aerosol cans, batteries, electronics and cleaning agents. this is the second time the company was accused of mismanaging waste. the company previously paid out $2.7 million in penalties. youtube is cutting down hateful and abusive comments. it is introducing a future -- a feature that will notify users when their comments violate community standards. if the user continues to pose harmful things, their account could be banned. youtube tested the feature first and said it found no
