the university would provide minimum salary scales, multiyear pay increases, and extended health care access for dependents. masks are coming back indoors, at least at san francisco state university. this requires to start at december 13. today happen to be the last day of the semester so they likely will not be affected. january 9 is when classes are supposed to resume. san francisco's community rate is at medium. dan: while covid is still a concern, new data on the spread of rsv and the flu is raising a bigger worry for medical workers. flu hospitalizations are higher during this period than any other year since 2015. debtor shows the peak of rsv hospitalizations may have been less month, but doctors say there is still a risk. >> what we are seeing this year is one of the worst rsv seasons

family friend was relieved to hear about the arrests and jasper's mother expressed thanks. >> of course, we were super relieved when we found out the suspect was in custody. >> so much love and care from the community, from everybody. ama: a lead investigator gave jasper's dad the pen he used for case notes. the family says it is a long road to recovery but this is a milestone and start to getting justice. the oakland branch of the naacp lost its transfer recount in the mayoral race. the rancho was confusing. won by fewer than 700 votes. the naacp forfeited its chance after failing to pay $21,000 for a recount. the organization claims they

dan: abc 7 news is committed to building a better bay area and it takes all of us to do that. in the east bay, the boys and girls club of oakland hosted a town ball, the first time help in person since 2019. as tim johns explains, it highlights some truly remarkable young people. john: after a pandemic hiatus, the glitz and glamour back friday night for the oakland town ball. the fundraising event and auction is one of the largest of its kind in the city and benefits the boys and girls club of oakland. >> when i was younger, they took

us on trips with the worriers. john: one of those in attendance was 17-year-old lataza who was the recipient of the organization's youth of the year award. she has been a member of the club for over 10 years and plans on staying active through her own volunteer work. she says the group has provided her with opportunities that you otherwise would not have had. >> it is great to show people how the boys and girls club held me and inspired me to get today. john: she is just one example of the type of young people the boys and girls club works with. for decades, the organization has been a state in the east bay -- a staple in the east bay. >> we have consistently been there for our children, summertime, afterschool time. kids need us to be there for them at all times. john: it is a mission the boys and girls club takes to heart and one that the president kyle stanley understands. >> a lot of people have been
