happy holidays from wells fargo. >> building a better bay area. moving forward. finding solutions. this is abc 7 news. >> i seriously and epidemic. >> tonight, alarming problem at los gatos heights glow. one man accused of dealing fentanyl laced pills, high school students buying it various places, including the parking lot of the school. >> the suspected drug dealer is now under arrest tonight, but investigators say this is the sign of a larger problem. >> they say this arrest came after several teens overdosed, taking these fentanyl laced pills. all of them survived. mike's aman-- >>

war on drugs, but a struggle to st save lives. suspected drug dealer accused of selling drugs to teen at los gatos high school. they asked to deny him up the streets. >> i don't feel like there is a way we can really protect the safety of the public, specifically vulnerable victims, miners here we have talked about, that are being peddled poisoned fentanyl. >> investigators say he sold drugs at locations throughout los gatos, even at a nearby church. he is being charged with four counts of felony drug sales after a group of students overdosed and survived. victims as young as 15 years old. >> she is a high school sophomore. that is someone just short of having your drivers license. that is someone who has a little

pocket change and can figure out how to a higher drugs -- how to acquire drugs. or maybe they are trying to self medicate. >> this is not the first time this high school has made headlines. in october 2021, a student's mother was arrested, accused of throwing alcohol fueled sex parties for underaged teens. we reached out to the school and district about the overdoses and are waiting to hear back. the deputy da says students were aware that pills could be deadly. some even carried ou nick -- narcan encase they overdosed. >> this shows it is seriously unope and epidemic. >> it shows they knew they were ingesting fennel in the first place. to the extent the young people know about it, they are still taking that risk or encouraging their peers to take that risk. it is a big problem. >> reasons why

air data shows there is no imminent risk at this time. tonight's flaring lasted about a half-hour, done just before 10:00. this follows two recent incidents there, one releasing 20 tons of hazardous ash around town. tonight, the refining company tells us it was caused by a brief power depth, but flares are essential to managing excess gas. >> we did not get crab for thanksgiving, but guess what? it may happen for new year's eve. officials say that is the first day of california's crab season, but there is a catch. only half as many traps as usual will be allowed on the coast line. the decision to open or delay has been tough in recent years. officials are trying to balance the needs of fishermen while protecting migrating whales and sea turtles getting entangled in the traps. fisheries will get a six to four hour period to set their gear beforehand on the morning of

stadium saturday, but earlier this week, a group of players stopped by san quentin state prison. it was part of the inspire, change initiative. players, including arik armstead and robbie gould met with inmates to discuss how the 49ers can help advocate for social justice. players were given a tour of the prison and shown the education programs that help give incarcerated people future careers after serving their time. >> what was unique for us as players is to come in and give them an opportunity to educate us on what they went through and the conversations they have had or things that i can teach my kids in order to help other people out. >> it is a very meaningful interaction. they also brought christmas gifts for inmates to give to their families, and everyone came together for a holiday meal. >> the final news conference.

investigating the january 6 attack on the capitol released its report. they said president donald trump engaged in a conspiracy to overturn the 2020 election. the report comes after the panel interviewed more than 1000 witnesses and held 10 hearings over 18 months. earlier this week, the panel recommended the justice department investigate trump on four crimes, including aiding and insurrection. nancy pelosi wrote a forward, saying, "the work of the select committee underscores that our democratic institutions are only as strong as the commitment of those entrusted with their care. " >> nancy pelosi held her final press conference with reporters using the title speaker of the house. she reflected on her time holding one of the most important positions in the government. >> my goal and wish is the new
