exclusive to abc7news. a moderate strength storm that is going to slam into the bay area tomorrow morning, which is why a flood watch will go into effect and it will be in effect through tomorrow evening. just about anybody could see flooding not just on the roadways with the streams in the creeks. wind advisory tomorrow morning, wind gusts 40 to 50 miles per hour could take down some tree linens and cause outages. it's already gusting to 33 at oakland right now. and as we check out the computer animation, you will notice scattered showers intensifying later tonight, it gets heavy tomorrow morning as that atmospheric river moves in. 4:00 a.m. to about 6:00 a.m. is when the most widespread heavy rain is going to occur. i'll be back with a look at live doppler seven taking you through the rest of the weekend. plus, a look at your new year's eve forecast. >> thank you very much, see you in the moment. stormy conditions being blamed for rock slides, spinouts and car crashes.

one wreck claiming the lives of two teenagers. there abc7news reporter's lip at the very latest. >> two words, wet and windy, we have seen steady rain most of the day making roads here very slick. the tragic accident happened overnight claiming to young lives. we arrived to the scene and found the bus on its side. firefighters say rain and slick roadways may have caused this transit bus to overturn thursday morning on anderson drive in san rafael. >> no passengers, just a solo driver. >> the driver had to be extricated from the bus and suffered minor injuries. hours later, a tow was able to flip the bus back onto its wheels. a rainy weight brought flooding to parts of sonoma county, highway 121 and highway 12 was underwater tuesday. a new flood threat returns

>> good news indee here at oakland airport there are zero canceled flights on southwest airlines. but right now there are four dozens a southwest flights. anyone flying southwest into oakland today has made it here. and you could bet a lot of people are relieved. many travelers are particularly happy to arrive at oakland airport after so many people were stuck somewhere because of canceled flights. tom and his and final -- and his entire family are now home. >> it was stressful being at the airport. quakes there southwest flight was canceled the day after christmas. things were so bad. >> we were contemplating driving home from columbus so we would make sure we wouldn't get canceled again and have to stay in the airport. >> the family avoided the 36 hour drive and got home today without further problems, but there still questions about what's next for southwest after a meltdown that forced him to cancel nearly 15,000 flights over the last week.

running this to put more effort into protecting the people visiting here. murders of four university idaho students. a 28-year-old man is under arrest. bryden was his parent's home. he's a graduate student at washington state university and has a residence about 10 miles from moscow, idaho where the stabbings happen. he is facing four counts of first-degree murder and felony burglary in the killings of idaho students matty, kaylee and ethan. >> these murders have shaken our community and no arrests will ever bring back these young students. however, we do believe justice will be felt through the criminal process. >> police say they recovered a white hyundai élan trust saw in the murders but have not recovered the murder weapon.

trip after three long years of the pandemic. i think after covering so much crime, being in this environment where the world is filled with division in haiti, and sometimes it feels like there's no hope in sight, nothing is quite as heartwarming as being able to get a smile to a young person who has lost all hope. that's what happened in nevada. this fourth grade class was told that they weren't able to go on the field trip that they really wanted to go to a field trip they had missed out on for three long years. and we were able to pull some strings here at abc 7 and make nadja cap in. all of elementary school in the final tuesday morning have no idea why they are being taken out of class. hi, fourth-graders, how are you? or what's in store for them later this week. surprise! you guys are going on a field trip.

brandon who was a three month old san jose baby who is kidnapped from his family's apartment while his grandmother was unloading groceries. his kidnapper was seen on home surveillance with the baby carrier walking in and out of the apartment. that image in that story went national for 20 hours his whereabouts were not known. there was a search, it was really beautiful to see the community come together and sharing the news of the images in their search for baby brandon. one of the most beautiful parts of the story is that baby brandon was reunited with his family safe and sound. he is with his family to this day. a little bit older, such a sweet little baby. his kidnappers pleaded guilty to several charges related to the kidnapping. he later found out they had made several attempts. there were a lot of developments with the story. even some sidebars that came as a result of the story. ahead and show you one of those earlier stories in the knees that baby brandon was found. >> it was just after 1:00 monday

afternoon when baby branded was reported missing. his grandmother telling police that she was unloading groceries with the three-month-old in the house. police say the baby was taken from the san jose apartment by a man seen walking with a baby carrier that led to a massive search for the baby that involve the fbi. now three suspects are in custody thanks to the employee of a nursing home whose facility is just across the street from the home the baby was found in. >> what transpired this morning is one of my employees that works here felt a little bit suspicious and it's also something that was out of character. >> what she saw was the silver 2000 11 nissan quest around 4:50 a.m. highway patrol tweeted out a picture description and license of the van. they were there just after she called police speaking on her behalf. >> she saw the vehicle and she's a mom and saw that something was a little bit out of place. she saw the vehicle, made a call to pee dee, and the police

department showed up, and they went right over and bought the vehicle, both the friend in the back, and they went to the alleged suspects house, and at that point they went and invaded the home. >> maria alvarado has a three-month-old and said she lives just under the home that police invaded. she said she was shocked to hear commotion outside of her home in police officers. she says that they have right there all this time and she didn't know it. she didn't know the initial investigation shows a link between the family and the suspects. investigation zapf is far from over. >> muff -- i'm a reporter and southbay. i love to cover sports and thankfully our area has given us plenty to talk about this past year. for my most memorable story of 2022 i have to go with the 49ers memory keeper. a story within a story about a photographer.

it's his job to as a happens. the nfc champion, iconic moments are captured that can live on in team history. moments captured by the 49ers photography team and their lead photographer, a man known around the organization is the man behind the lens. >> to be the director of photography for the 49ers and the organization it's one of those things at all take for granted. he's been part of the organization for 25 years and witnessed some of the greatest wins and says it takes more work in preparation the people think to create the perfect shot the fans are member forever. including some of the best post came celebrations. >> is about really capturing the essence of the game. and when you look at a and you look at the celebration that they have after battling the whole game, and when you capture that moment, it just so surreal.

with bank of america for decades . she has a store, a small business and chinatown. >> here it is, a san francisco treasure. if you haven't shopped here, you have probably heard about it. the mother has run the place for more than 50 years. we are talking to lisa because her mother's is l account seems to have been hacked and lisa has been helping with a. quick so she called bank of america and she filed a fraudulent claim. it was for transactions on the same day that totaled whale and marlon. >> probably a fake name. the bank put a hold on the checking account and investigated a few months old -- earlier and change phone and there may or may not be a town. police and her mom are hopeful, then they heard back. >> they were not going to refund her money, they could improve

that it wasn't my mother who facilitated the sale transactions. >> lisa contacted me, and that's why they started talking and i have to ask this question. did you make those transactions? >> no. absolutely not. in fact, the name of that person is online -- >> and that person's name is -- and i reached out to bank of america and they had to san francisco institutions, bank of america and the walk shop should be able to work this out and they came through, telling me, based on additional information provided by the clients daughter and further research on our part, we suspect that the clients device may have been compromised. bank of america returned the entire stolen amount. when i heard the good news, i headed over to their place. look who's here today, how are you doing?

best i could, and i planted the seed. i sent a package of that's really how i started. every year grew bigger and brick -- bigger and bigger. i started with a, b, c and the next year was d, e and f. i was like a kid in a sandbox, it was like my private island. i paid no taxes and no rent, and the city gave me water. >> using only hand tools and hours of labor, he created this neighborhood garden and another along a stretch of land along the popular trail. >> when i discovered wildflowers, guess what, they live and they die, they are composted, they returned to the earth, and i don't need any storage space like the material world. so that appealed to me. if everybody did it, we wouldn't have any pollution, would we? he just gave me a squash. >> he also grows food, tomatoes

experience and it felt like year in outer space, i had never done virtual-reality before and i got to put on the headset, and you feel like you're an astronaut, you do the spacewalk, and you get what they call the overview affect. when you get to see earth from space. so that was really cool for me and i'm hoping to do some other virtual-reality experiences now that i've had a chance to experience this one, it's called space explorers. so check out the story. this is a journey into outer space. virtual-reality technology makes you feel like you are actually there. eric albert is co-ceo of infinity experiences inc., putting down the space explorers, the infinite exhibit at the pavilion in richmond. he said this is been in the making for nearly seven years. and then sending cameras to the international space station. >> we capture this amazing
