effect. a lot of streams and creeks in the area here are still overflowing their banks and it will take time for them to receive. the only caveat is we could see more downpours over similar areas this morning and it will take more time for the water to reseed. a wind advisory is in effect for the hills this morning. we are under a flood watch across the entire region. any more downpours this morning will easily cause more flooding. likely half an inch to an inch of rain coming our way. on the exclusive storm impact scale it's a level three strong storm for a threat of more flooding with the wind still gusting. we will go hour-by-hour on future whether to timeout the storm in a minute. let's check in with jobina to see how we are doing this morning. jobina: we have of san rafael, look at how it is shaking. a number of wind advisories are coming in from the chp.

especially here for the bay bridge. it's a big sign that you will see when you hop on into san francisco. remember to reduce your speeds, that will be helpful to you to avoid any kind of crash. a new report now about the half moon bay mudslide, westbound lanes are blocked and there are cruise on the scene right now. you can see our sensors lighting up and it's light in terms of traffic so for there to be that kind of impact in half moon bay just goes to show how much is blocked. woodside, state route 35 at the overlook, pg&e is not heading out to the area right now so caltrans has put in a hard closure. wrapping up with just another look at the flooding landslide cleanup underway from fremont to the eastbound and westbound lanes of 84 around mission boulevard, still blocked through tomorrow evening. kumasi: right now we have the latest information on the storm. tens of thousands of customers are in the dark across the

region. the majority of the outages are in the daly city and south san francisco areas. two deaths are being blamed on the storm. a child was killed by a falling tree last night in sonoma county and in fairfield a 19-year-old was killed yesterday in a crash. reggie: there are evacuation warnings for those who live near the reservoir and the river past basin. it may not be safe. at least half a dozen school district are closed, including pacifica and redwood city. kumasi: and new video from oakland where a tree came down on an apartment building at 4:00 this morning on lynn street near coolidge avenue. we don't know if anyone was hurt. reggie: in the north bay the threat of flooding is becoming very real. evacuation orders in sonoma county. let's bring in lena howland for the latest on the damage there. jobina: reggie -- lena: reggie, good morning. we are just getting into

petaluma this morning. this is one section of the north bay that had rough flooding near petaluma and stony point boulevard. if you take a look at the roads where we are at now, we actually just passed stony point road and are on petaluma boulevard now. we are not seeing any flooding here as originally reported in only a few puddles on the side streets and shoulders of this road. so that's good news for the neighbors living on petaluma boulevard. now up in sonoma county at a much more serious situation. we learned a child was killed by a falling tree last night in occidental, which for reference is about 75 miles northwest of san francisco. the fire chief says a redwood tree fell on a double wide trailer off of joy road, killing a 2.5-year-old boy at home inside. his parents were at home when it happened but were not hurt. >> a frantic father came out of

the household with the child, covered in debris. he said my child was not breathing. lena: the fire chief drove the father and child to the main road to meet the rescue squad. they started cpr while waiting for medics to arrive. tragically, the child died. the chief says a lot of members of the department have children the same age as the victim, so he is planning to hold a critical stress debriefing for members of the department later today. back here live in petaluma as we are driving along petaluma boulevard looking for any problem areas or flooding as originally reported near stony point road, we are again not seeing many problem areas along petaluma boulevard at this time. so for now live in petaluma, i'm lena howland. kumasi: thank you. another big problem this morning, power outages. you can see the section here

showing outages across much of northern california. in the bay area biggest impact is in pacifica and that is where gloria rodríguez is joining us this morning. there is a lot of damage in the area, gloria. gloria: there is,, seek. -- kumasi. we know that wind gusts reached up to 50 miles per hour here. right now we are at a valero station in south san francisco and check this out behind us, these gas pumps were crushed by the awning during yesterday's heavy wind. the good news is that there were no reports of injuries but it does show you how powerful the wind was. we saw pg&e cruise out all day yesterday. they said they had 1300 workers to handle all the power outages. we know of course the heavy rain and strong wind could bring a number of problems to your home or business, including the power outages. you might be wondering what to do if your power goes out.

pg&e says to call and report the outage to make sure that they can locate the problem and get it resolved. check the pg&e website where they have the outage map where you can see if your neighborhood was affected and when the power might come back. back your life you can see the damage that happened in south san francisco with the crushed gas pumps. an incredible sight to see there. again the good news is that no one here was injured in this. live in south san francisco, gloria rodríguez. reggie: thank you. amazing fire truck rescue in contra costa county. i father and two young girls rescued off the hood of a pickup truck i fire crews using the latter last night. they were found stuck in the middle of rising floodwaters near the franklin canyon offramp on westbound highway four. no injuries reported but it could have been a lot worse. >> if they didn't get out, could

have been big consequences. is enough to stall a car in these conditions. kumasi: southbay sky 7 shows the canyon where the county of santa clara has issued evacuation warnings to community members along the watershed areas of the shingle pass river basin and there is a real fear of flooding after the storm. further south there's a flash flood warning near the north fork damme. reggie: also in the southbay, high wind and heavy rain are a recipe for disaster causing short and widespread power outages across san jose where the early rain brought down trees and power lines. you can see a large tree that fell. abc 7 news was there when the man described the moment the tree nearly hit the hood of his truck while on the road.

in the early afternoon it moves out, scattered downpours with isolated flooding that is very light. late this afternoon we are drying out. that's the weather, let's get a check on the traffic from jobina. jobina: we have new issues coming in right now and i want to move over to our maps to start with what looks likely we are learning here as a downed tree in los altos hills on northbound 280 near page mill road, impacting the freeway there. sounds like the tree came down and as a result there was a crash shortly afterwards. we are looking at a couple of lanes blocked in the area because of that. sausalito, new reports of a rockslide southbound on 101 at rodeo. this came in maybe in the last already seconds and sausalito. moving over to another issue we are following impacting half moon bay, mudslide on westbound 92, where all westbound lanes

39 at sfo. 20 in san mateo. wind out there, showers, too. live doppler 7 showing light rain. we keep watching this line here, rain moving through this morning with downpours and a threat of a thunderstorm popping up. use of the tower just bouncing all around here and there. areas in yellow are high elevation for gusty wind. we are also under a flood watch. what that means for this morning is that as the line moves through we have isolated downpours set up with new areas of isolated flooding. something that we will track in real-time for you. best chance for future weather between 6:00 a.m. a.m. and 10 a.m. this morning. the line coming through packs a punch. orange and red on the screen once again indicating heavier rain and by 10 a.m. we have scattered showers and downpours. likely into the early afternoon is when we start to see everything wind down.

later today we can go out and assess what's happening, maybe even some new threats because of the morning downpours. rainfall, we are looking at a half-inch two inch of additional rain this morning and that is enough rain to create problems again out there. what we are likely finding is that we will see some more issues this morning. the wind forecast, showing you the wind will be coming down as the day goes on but it is again breezy out there this morning. highs today, level 3 three this morning. temperatures mainly in the 50's. isolated showers. overnight transition the storm impact scale to a level one with numbers in the 40's. first, our winter storm warning goes through tomorrow morning. difficult travel right now, we are still expecting one feet to four feet. now here's the accuweather forecast, tracking a level 3 three storm this morning. things calming down this

absolutely soaked us last night with strong, gusty wind. now we are watching the of showers moving through here between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m. and right now out there it is scattered showers with an impressing closer in parts of the east bay. light showers out there now, similar story near newark. the live doppler 70 you can see there, downpours are developing with the threat of a thunderstorm later this morning. want to get you the latest on the flood warning that we have through the morning and parts of sonoma county because of streams and creeks in the area that have overflow their banks and are slowly subsiding. including green valley, mark west, folding, willowbrook, wiggins and east washington. you are likely seeing flooding if you live near these creeks and it will slowly subside as the morning goes on. for the entire region, what this

means is that as the showers came through this morning everyone was fair game for areas of flooding because of where the downpours set up. there's a lot of wind ahead of the line, gusting 35 to 45 miles per hour in spots right now. in the hills it's a similar story. the wind is strongest on the coastline. on the exclusive abc 7 storm impact scale today, level three because of the elevated threat that is still with us for new flooding. when you see this line coming through impacting the wind with heavy downpours at 8:30 we still have downpours and even by 10:30 the worst of the wind will be over but we are still tracking showers. half an inch to an inch of rain. that much rain in a short amount of time bringing issues of flooding. reggie: take a look at this dramatic video from pacifica.

tree is a cypress, it's 90 feet tall and it toppled over just before 2:00 yesterday and thankfully no one was under it. kumasi: the mayor of oakland says that she spent a part of the day in the emergency operations center. the city provided free transportation to shelters set up in west and oakland to help on house. she said that -- unhoused. she said areas are in need of repair and pledges more will be done under her administration. >> i look forward to a working partnership with the governor in the county to make sure we have the resources to move forward. will it change overnight? absolutely not. we will be looking to update that infrastructure to keep residences and businesses safe.
