napa. showers and storms have a potential to create a thunderstorm as well. flood watch in effect for the entire region. where we see the downpours we will see new pockets of flooding. 8:00 in the morning we have rain in spots that will continue through 9:30. that is why we have a strong storm this morning let's check in with jobina. we have issues caused by the storm. jobina: we start with the newest ones in the big a -- bodega bay. a tree came down and blocked both directions on state route one northbound and southbound traffic completely blocked. no power and no way to get through. please avoid that area. and a major head on corral -- crash in the nole. northbound 680 has been shut down. you cannot get through that area. they have also reported someone is trapped in their vehicle with the jackknife big rig that is

reggie: in the east bay we saw a car floating in the underpass in the hill area of oakland this is near 580 near the summit medical center. thankfully no one was in the car. people living in the senate moan creek and danville have been watching conditions all night long because the area flooded during saturday's storm. today they use tractors to dig trenches so the overflown water -- overflowing water can be pushed back into the ditches. and they remove branches from the creek yesterday hopefully to keep the water flowing and prevent flooding. residents are worried about the saturated ground. >> there is saturated dirt and water trees are falling. >> the soil is so saturated. are you concerned? >> yes concerns are there. trees are falling more than

guerneville ? russian river >> the rain is certainly dumping on us compared to when we got here an hour ago. art of the city's waking up in the dark without power. this areas under a major flood warning advice from healdsburg up to jenner over fear of the russian river flooding. if you look next-door, you can see the gallery is preparing for the worse case scenario. if the russian river does flood by lining the front doors of their businesses with sandbags to protect their business. this part of kernville -- guerneville saw flooding in 2019 here is a video from four years ago. this is when the rising russian river flooded the road and the nearby communities. it was so serious there was no white -- no way in and out it

>> san francisco police have arrested teenagers for murder in japan town area. officers responded to a shooting scene around 5:00 last night at webster and gary. they got there and saw a man with a gunshot wound who died at the scene. after investigating, police arrested a 15-year-old boy for murder and a 14-year-old four it says to murder.

the person who sent this to us that it is a cyprus about 90 feet tall. it toppled over before 2:00 yesterday afternoon and luckily no one was standing in the area so no one got hurt. kumasi: severe storm came yesterday on the anniversary of one of the first -- worst storms in history. in 1982 we got five inches of rain in santa cruz. a total of 31 people were killed during that storm mostly by mudslides. including 10 people in the ludwick neighborhood. and the santa cruz mountains. altogether 630 houses were destroyed or damaged. and 5500 people were displaced. reggie: let's see what traffic looks like this morning. how are we fearing? jobina: not great. unfortunately, even though traffic is lighter today in terms of the number of people on the roadway, our incidents are

more severe today than they were around this time yesterday because we know the brunt of the storm was felt later in the day yesterday. i want to start in bodega bay where to tree is down and the power is out because of the tree southbound and northbound state route at north harbor way is blocked. this will be an alert until further notice. we do not have an estimated time of when the lanes will reopen they are. flooding and landside between bullard and main street. we will continue to update you on this but because of the wind, trees are coming down and power lines are coming down be aware on the roadway. drew: it is getting messy out there we have a winter storm warning in effect for tahoe. when this is all said and done we will get about -- over one foot of snow. we are at a level 3 strong storm

this morning. the biggest threat we are watching is more downpours developing and where we see that, we find new pockets of flooding. raising -- gusting winds o there. this is our camera. the camera is bouncing around the wind and rain arriving with the line of showers and downpours. downpours are coming into sonoma county. the wider picture we watch the line here. indicating heavy wind coming our way in the next couple of hours. the line will cross through and bring a threat for flooding again and strong wind. a wind advisory is in effect until 10:00 a.m. the wind is not as strong as it was last night but it is still gusting at 10-20 miles per hour this morning. as the showers move through, anyone is fair game for localized new pockets of flooding. we see downpours under the level 3 storm.

we start to clear out this afternoon and dry up in the evening hours. we expect .5 inches up to one inch of rain as the downpours come through that is enough to create issues. the wind will generally calm down after 10:00 a.m. which is good news they are. here is the seven-day forecast. the three is for this morning with rain and wind. tomorrow the best chance of showers for the north bay we find on and off level to over the weekend and the next week with the fled threat remaining high. jobina: it is time for the traffic report. it is that time of year again. because this is the very first one when i was putting in the numbers for the chart i was looking at the base totals for snow from last year compared to this year there was a lot of snow out there. as we zoom in tahoe, this is an important note, all roadways if you are traveling to tahoe, the safest time to travel will be
