the bay area, we are sitting in the back -- middle of the latest activity and live doppler 7 showing you the heavy rain covering every inch of our region. our full team is keeping you at the ready tonight we will be checking in with abc news reporters in just a moment but first let us get to spencer christian with this current track and lots of rain out there. >> indeed the storm pushed on shore quickly and of course it is not our next storm but are now storm, as you pointed out it is raining in all parts of the bay area right now heavy especially in the central part where you see those yellow colors showing up. on the exclusive abc seven impact scale this is a level storm so overnight and into tomorrow morning expect periods of moderate to heavy rain, slides may occur and possibility of wind damage. notice during the overnight hours and into the morning commute we will get heavy downpours, strong winds and

probably flooding of roadways, the storm is going to push out by midmorning followed by just a little patch of clearing before the next wave of storminess. along with the storm we have a high wind warning for most parts of the bay area with gusts possibly up to 60 miles per hour or higher and a flood watch remains in effect through tuesday afternoon as another wave of storminess is going to come in tomorrow through tuesday. i will show you the accuweather 7-day forecast later. >> thanks, as saying the true danger of these storms is how soil can't take much more. we have seen countless trees fall on cars and even kill an infant. another downed tree this time in pleasanton, abc seven news reporter spoke to the father of the family who says they are lucky to be alive. >> the work is ongoing to clean up this 100 foot tree that fell into this house saturday night.

>> i think honestly by the grace of god we got out of our house alive i think my father-in-la is watching over us, he recently passed away of lung cancer and he was always concerned for our safety with the trees. >> he said it happened fast within 20 minutes, the winds picked up around 11:30 on saturday night, he went to the front of his house to see if everything was ok, the second i walked to the front of the house that is when i heard my wife scream saying it is coming down and she went to her son's room covered him and then i went and grabbed my daughter >> these photos show it all, the branches broke through the windows and roof, he says the right side of his house totaled. >> i called 911 it pleasanton fire showed up and they let us know the house was not sound anymore and to turn off the electricity and shut off the gas and evacuate. due to the amount of weight on

the roof. >> this man owns east bay tree service which has been busy with storm cleanup he says the ground is saturated the roots are not holding. with more rain this week he expects it could get worse. >> we have an unprecedented amount of rain's of the ground is so saturated and everything is toppling over, a lot of these trees that are older and have survived a long time have never seen rain like this. >> he says these are heritage trees so by law they are limited with what they can do but once the tree is cleared there is problem number two topping roof to prevent flooding. >> there are multiple holes coming through the ceiling and plus other areas have holes, the rain water is coming in and that's the number one concern. >> in pleasanton abc7news. >> all of those downed trees and high winds are causing power outages across the state take a look at pg&e's online map shows you the trouble spots, progress

is being made across the bay area to get the lights back on there are 6700 customers affected now that has greatly diminished from the 20,000 this afternoon. more than half of the outages are in the north bay where 37 customers are in the dark and in the peninsula it is 1600 that is 3700 customers in the north bay. thutility is bracing for this next major storm which could bring even more outages. and speaking of some neighborhoods in the peninsula are without power and internet after fallen trees damaged parts of a local comcast plant abc seven news reporter spoke to neighbors layer to see how they are coping. >> it is raining here in pacifica, the rain has been on and off all sunday evening officials here still responding to downed trees from past nights and accidents that have happened this evening. we have also learned of a big problem with those residentsvinr

several days we were there as the top of a light pole was not only sparking but had a small flame. fire and pg&e crews were able to get that out but there is still work being done on that line, the big issue according to neighbors is internet connection. i was told for many comcast went out last wednesday and did not come back until sunday. that means no internet, no cell hotspots and no calls using wi-fi. >> land phones won't work because our land phone is connected to comcast. no cell service. no communication with the outside world. >> for four days. >> yes. >> comcast as bout, cellular service has been out for four days and that is a big concern for folks on the coast particularly because there is no cell service so if your internet

patches of yellow this is on the right-hand side are seen as a cam from 101 you can see precipitation on the lens with wet pavement out there ahead of the morning commute tomorrow this is a level two on our exclusive abc seven ask impact scale the next in a series of dangerous storms. spencer has your full forecast in a few minutes. sacramento was also picking up tonight from the powerful winds overnight and into this morning, some gusts there at more than 70 miles an hour. residents in wilton who live along with some this river are being urged to evacuate immediately in anticipation of the river flooding over, the same area was slammed which led to multiple levee failures. at one point more than 300,000 customers were without power in sacramento county now down to 50,000 currently. over in the east bay 60 pg&e customers in castro valley have been without power since

yesterday afternoon, they are waiting for debris in a giant eucalyptus tree to be cleared so crews can restore service. that tree fell onto a home on sandy road late yesterday penning a man underneath. firefighters spent almost an hour trying to rescue him, his wife and four children were able to get out safely. >> if he had not been on the couch right where he was or if the whole family had been there it could have been worse. >> the tree fell through the house and onto the street bringing down power lines, pg&e said they can get the power back on once the street is cleared they estimate that will be close to 6:00 tomorrow morning. residents say they have complained to the city about the massive trees that run along a creek behind their homes and the threat of them falling, and other news chinatown is getting ready to celebrate the year of the rabbit. as part of the build up in san francisco the chinatown merchants association held a good fortune weekend today the

indicate where heavier and steadier rain is falling that is right through the central part of the bay area through san francisco across to oakland and san leandro out to -- we already have gusty winds anywhere from 25 to about 30 miles an hour in places like santa rosa, san mateo down into san jose so it is going to get winning -- here and regnier. temperature readings are in a narrow range right now about 54 to 57° in san francisco, oakland palo alto santa clara and half moon bay a nice view from emeryville. raindrops are obviously hitting the camera lens right there and temperatures are in the mid 50's, santa rosa, novato fairfield in livermore a nice view from our rooftop camera next weekend.wk rohero

this stovebc storm impact scale ranks a level moderate to heavy rainfall into the morning hours and an elevated threat of flooding mudslides possible wind damage and on we go to the forecast animation. starting at midnight between midnight and about 5 a.m. which will be the beginning of our morning commute we will see some of the heaviest downpours and some of the nastiest wins and then the storm pushes out rather quickly and it will leave a lot of rain behind and possibly some wind damage as well so on we go to a break in the late afternoon where we might see the sun peeks through but not for long high wind warning will be in effect until 10:00 tomorrow morning for most of the bay area until 8:00 for the north bay we expect gusts up to about 60 miles per hour and even higher in the higher elevations, flood watch remains in effect through tuesday afternoon for the entire bay area and here's a look at our projected rainfall totals from this storm anywhere from about an inch and a third to about two and a half inches so this is going to give us a good

soaking. over in the sierra a storm warning in effect until 4 a.m. wednesday with level starting out at 4000 feet that rise up to about 7000 feet and now we resume our animation going into the next storm that comes in tomorrow night going into tuesday morning and then that ends tuesday night followed by another storm on wednesday and then thursday and friday get a little break with good chance of showers mainly in the north bay those two days but not areawide until saturday when the next storm arrives. high temperatures tomorrow up to about 60° in the mildest locations and i posted a little break of sunshine because we might get some of that in the afternoon but still a chance of showers any time during the day tomorrow and here is the accuweather 7-day forecast a level to storm on tuesday level 1 wednesday thursday and friday light storm activity but then we get some continuous rainfall coming in next weekend so there's not much of a break for us at all during the next seven days. >> still need to exercise caution. spencer, thanks.
