news. reggie: your work week is off to a very wet start. we are tracking a level 3 storm on the impact scale. the timing of the hardest rain and when you will finally see a break. >> a large tree falls on a home. we are seeing how bad the damage is. reggie:of january 6. brazilian protesters storm government buildings in an attempt to overturn election results. the calls for the former president to be brought to face justice. >> prince harry opening up about the royal rift. more about his family and personal life. reggie: i guess it is time. the tea is spilled. >> i haven't gotten over the tea from the documentary. reggie: well, it is raining a lot. drew: it really is.

at least through nine :00 a.m., you are finding the heavy rain, the strongest wind. we have pockets of downpours. we've already had issues this morning for the north bay. a flood advisory in effect, smaller streams and creeks. also watching the river today, flood warning is in effect. some minor flooding around here. it is forecasted to crest at about 9.58, and that would create minor flooding. surface wind, it is windy. level three strong storm. the heavy rain keeping that flood threat with us. here's future weather. still seeing pockets of downpours out there, but watch what happens by lunchtime.

the worst of it is out of here. tapering to light showers and this afternoon we will get a break in the rain before the next storm arrives tonight. all the details on this and the next storm in a few minutes. reggie: we do have some new video into the newsroom of falling across the north they. the first is a rockslide that happened on pine flat road. you can see this large boulder and several smaller rocs blocking the road. there is a large sinkhole on salmon creek road. that was discovered early yesterday morning. the road is washed out. it is unclear how many people may be cut off because of it this morning. kumasi: flooding and downed trees remain a concern. creeks and rivers could crest if there is too much rain. we have gotten several reports of downed trees as well this morning. lena howland is joining us live on the roadways.

the weekend has caused several large trees to fall and we are on our way to a very serious situation in san bruno. i do want to give you a look at the roads of what we are seeing, and where the rain is absolutely still dumping on us at this hour. i want to show you that situation that we are heading to in san bruno now wear a mask three fell, crunching a blue sedan just after 3:00 this morning. we do not have any word on any injuries at this moment, but the home has already been taped off with caution tape. it is a similar story over in castro valley. over the weekend, a giant eucalyptus tree fell onto a home in castro valley, pinning a man underneath. firefighters spent almost an hour trying to rescue him. his wife and children were able to get out safely. >> if he had not been on the

couch right where he was or if i'll family had been there, it could've been a lot worse. >> another family lucky to be alive after the same thing happened to them. a tree more than 100 feet tall falling right onto their home. the branches broke the windows and the roof. the owner says the right side of his house is totaled and they were told to evacuate right away because of the amount of weight on the house. back here live as we are heading out to san bruno, we checked in with local tree services and they say the ground is incredibly saturated right now, so the roots are not holding. with more rain like this today and more to come, they expect it will only get worse with more trees like these expected to come down. again, we are heading out to that situation in san bruno, hoping to give you a live look, not later on in the show.

reggie: thank you so much. some of you are waking up without power this morning. easy any's tunnel -- pg&e's shows about 16,000 people still without power. progress is being made to get those lights back on. more than half the outages are in the north they. utilities are bracing for the next major storm which could bring even more outages. kumasi: there are civil never his -- several neighborhoods facing flooding threats this week. the sheriff's office says the river will crest sometime tomorrow morning. in alameda county, residents could be inundated by alameda creek. coyote creek is posing a threat. in santa cruz county, the river can also read flood stage. alerts have been sent out to some people who are experiencing impacts of the south bay unit one.

at least 400 people have been arrested. the current president called the actions barbaric. president biden is among several world leaders who condemned the attack and also brazil. classes have been canceled in virginia after a six euro boy intentionally shot his teacher. the shooting happened friday. police say the student who has not identified because of his age shot the teacher after some sort of altercation. the teacher suffered life-threatening injuries and is now stable and improving at a local hospital. they're investigating how that boy was able to get the gun. >> in massachusetts man is doing court today in connection with his wife this errands. she hasn't been seen since new year's day. authorities accuse him of misleading the investigation and the search for his wife.

reggie: students returning to the university of idaho for the first time since an arrest in a quadruple murder. several questions still remain and jobina is that the live desk with more. jobina: there is a sense of relief among students and parents now that an arrest has been made, but the school is still promising new security measures including more officers on campus and patrols in nearby neighborhoods. there is a different feeling amongst students just minutes away at washington university. they are stunned, remembering the classmate now under arrest for the brutal murders. they told a local newspaper that the criminology student often spoke up during discussions of murder investigations, but when the topic of the idaho slayings came up, one student said "he was completely silent." according to investigators, the suspect was on their radar as early as november 20 9, 16 days after the students were brutally stabbed to death.
