that's notorious for flooding. the red cross is helping set up a shelter. the weather is making a mess in the bay area. dan: it sure is. we'll start with meteorologist lisa arjen. lisa? lisa: good evening, everyone. we still have that flood warning that you spoke of around gill roy. the road is closed there. also looking at the multitude of reports, storm reports here. the heaviest weather in ventura county down towards santa barbara. we've had a break all day. but as you look at the reports. 108 and still counting with one degree flow. reports of flooding, 28 reports of that so a look at the totals. 4.8. los gados. 4.23. redwood city 3 1/4.

beautiful sight with the dry conditions there. the golden gate bridge. but since christmas, 12 inches of rain. 23 mount tam. so we are certainly looking at a lot of rain and that water is still receding here from coyote creek. spencer has a look at another strong system that is headed our way tonight. spencer: i do. we have a system coming our way. there's your flood watch, i should same it covers the entire bay area. not just individual regions. a wind advisory goes into effect until 4:00 tomorrow. we expect gusts with this approaching storm between 45 and 60 miles per hour. let's take a closer look at this storm which is on the exclusive abc7 storm impact scale is a moderate storm. it's expected to produce showers and lots of heavy downpours, possibly even thunderstorms. about 2:00 and 4:00, this stop will rush on shore. it's going to be a mess.

because it will produce a widespread heavy downpours and gusty winds. there's likely to be ponding and pooling. and the storm won't break down and move out of here. so tomorrow night. and that be followed by yet another storm. give you a look at the expected rainfall totals from the storm anywhere from half an inch to an inch or more in many other locationsful i'll have the full seven-day forecast dan and ama. ama: alameda creek is expected to crest. the biggest concerns is miles canyon and sano. leslie brinkley is live in fremont with the latest. leslie? leslie: well, ama, i have a little bit of good news for you. we just got word from usgs that this area of alameda creek is now at a minor flood risk. earlier today a couple of hours ago, it was up at 11 feet.

so a moderate flood risk. and that is now of apparently the water is coming down. we're told it's around nine feet. but there's lots of danger in nice canyon road. the rest of the night especially with more rain coming. >> what low calls call their rambling creek is now a roaring tributary in sanol. sinbad flows into alameda creek which is a rapidly flowing and rising river now. >> the local department have been urging the locals to evaluate. if they're elderly or have any kind of medical conditions where they can't get out. potentially if there's a mudslide. >> in these steep canyons, there are many hazards that could block the exit route.

it's been bad since new year's eve. >> essentially it was about four to five feet higher than this. it goes right up to the top of the rock embankment there. and this is pretty much where we can keep an eye on it from where we live and see how much it's rising compared the damage that we saw last week. >> i haven't seen it this high. and running this fast. >> so never before -- >> no, i've never. >> late 60's. no, i've never seen hit the way. >> according to usgs, they're supposed to crest at 9.1 feet. with the creek cresting near niles at the same time at 15 feet. >> but as you just heard a little bit of good news from the usgs in that that chris crest, it looks like it's been deminuteish some.

this is along highway 9 north of santa cruz. ama: roofs ripped from saturated soil sending this gigantic tree crashing down on a home in castro valley. we give you a video from above the road. it parked in front of the house and caused serious damage. just about a block away another fallen tree. it appears to have landed on the roof more so than crashing to it they use add large crane to lift it piece by piece off of the roof. dan: this is the current power outages. half of them are in the north bay. the orange squares are where nearly 500 customer were affected. ama: karina nova shows just how bad it is. karina: evacuations warnings.

and we are seeing incredible video of the gill roy area. take a look a at this. this is the flooding in the area of 101 and highway 25. the first floor of this house is under water. you can see multiple cars are submerged on this property. the water is so high, you can barely see the tops of two of the vehicles. some farm building and environment. it stretches all the way to the road. people driving risk their cars stalling in that high water this afternoon. you can see one driver needing some help getting through here in a second. yep, there he is. had to push it out. there was also a massive traffic backup on 101 southbound. i do want to update you. the road is now open through gill roy. karina novak,

crestview drive. residents of a mobile home park in belmont are dealing with several feet of water. the belmont mobile home park flooded for the second par in inn two weeks. residents in the low lying park that borders the area said the water began rising when the pumps failed. a nearbi-gym flooded. >> in pesca dozen homes. >> surrounding me about four feet of water. to my left, the buttner creek flooding this entire neighbor. about 10 homes directly impacted by this flood. it's a risky drive but wade watkins is taking his chances. this morning he helped one of his neighbor who is got stuck crossing into town. i am no expert. nature throws wild things. but it's a gamble. obviously, sit a gamble.

ama: san francisco police have made an arrest in an assault that happened in on a muni bus. back on december 3 rd, a 79 year-old woman was kicked in the stomach by another passenger as she boarded the bus. today, police announced the 17 year-old who was already in custody on an unrelated charge has been charged with aggravated assault in that bus attack. dan: the mayor said the subsidy is prepared. she spoke with us about it on our 3:00 p.m. program called "getting answers." the mayor says the key factor in being prepareed is the joint effort to clear storm drains especially in flood-prone areas. >> we fortunately, have a lot of

great residents in san francisco who are take responsibility and clearing out drains on a regular basis not just, you know, once when a big storm hits but just in general. but we also have a lot of city workers -- the department of public works workers and folks from sfpuc, public utility commission clearing out storm drains on a regular basis. dan: the mayor also talked about the federal disaster declare ration. ama: he's hopeful that will free up san francisco for some of the floods. senior education reporter lyanne melendez spoke with custodians who are working to keep classes from being interrupted. >> miguel cuellar is the first to arrive, the veteran custodian makes sure any type of flooding
