surge of stormy weather is going to move on shore but it will continue through the commuting hours in the morning so it threw about 7 a.m. or so we will continue to see steady downpours just saturating rain and strong gusty winds that may be damaging as well by mid day or so we will see the storm begin to loosen up and loosen its tight structure but there will still be pockets of heavy downpour throughout the day into the late afternoon and evening hours before it starts to break up and move out of here. there is another storm on the way late tomorrow night into wednesday morning let's take a look at our projected rainfall totals anywhere from just over half an inch here in san francisco to just under an inch in oakland about an inch and a half in san mateo many locations will receive anywhere from three quarters of an inch to about an inch and a quarter from the storm which is a lot of rain on top of what we have already had so flood watch remains in effect for the entire bay area through tomorrow afternoon as well as a wind advisory which went into effect at 10:00 tonight that

will be in effect till 4 p.m. tomorrow wins will be generally out of the southwest at 15 to 30 miles per hour but with gust up to 45 to 60 miles per hour which can be very damaging. there will be snow in the sierra a winter storm warning remains in effect till 4 p.m. tomorrow and as we look ahead beyond tomorrow another one is coming in on wednesday and throughout the week we have waves of rain coming into the bay area. thursday probably won't be so bad but although into the weekend we have more rain coming our way on about five consecutive days. >> thanks will touch base again shortly today the bay area saw its worst flooding yet from a recent storm the nonstop drizzle and downpour came to finally add up flood water caused a major mess along highway 101 in gilroy. elsewhere flooding homes and surrounding waterways abc 7 news reporter shows you the impact from the south bay. >> homes and highways underwater

in gilroy sky 7 was overhead monday afternoon as flooding shut down a stretch of highway 101 at the 25 junction hours. this is just south of the city the closure moved traffic onto gilroy streets and other thoroughfares onto rush-hour taking hours for drivers to navigate. >> i left san jose about 3:30 and got here and had to turn around and chesbro and then turned around again and then here on bailey and had to turnaround. >> it's crazy. we were checking the phone it is closed everywhere. >> elsewhere in gilroy water from the upas creek flooded parts of the park area. >> the reservoir is spilling now and that is contributing to that. >> in the storm's aftermath so impactful santa clara's county office of management issued an evacuation warning for several of its communities. on 101 both directions were closed by 2 p.m. monday finally reopening after six. that hours long delay impacting

>> tom davies of the winery says this oak tree had been a highlight of the winery since they opened nearly 15 years ago it had been standing in this spot for an estimated 200 and 75-year's before coming down during the latest storm that broke rain and heavy winds. >> for those that visit the winery this majestic oak, literally hundreds of thousands of people have picnicked under this oaktree since the day we open our doors in 1976 it's been a part of coming to the winery and having a glass of wine and some salami and cheese and people enjoying the beauty of the napa valley. >> downed trees have been only part of the problem in wine country floodwaters are receding in most areas but intersections like this one in sonoma county spend are still flooded out. >> i can't go down there we spent a lot of money on it and

temperature change most locations are several degrees cooler than they were last night here is a live view looking out over san francisco where it is 51° low t's palo and half moon bay. the view from the east bay hills camera mainly a clear view but you can see a few clouds developing in the sky right now over the bay it is 51 at santa rosa cool 48 in the votto if you want napa and even cooler 44 in fairfield, concord and livermore mid to upper 40's and looking toward part of the skyline of san francisco you see if you clouds developing in the view from our exploratorium camera. a rainy windy storm arrives for that morning commute lighter storm arrives on wednesday with the slippery morning commute periods of rain will develop each day through the coming weekend and the approaching storm on the exclusive storm impact scale will rank a level two it is a moderate storm but it will feel heavy at times with showers and downpours gusty winds and thunderstorms possible

with this the thunderstorm as well as an elevated threat of flooding and trees being blown down. here's our forecast animation starting at 2 a.m. at this point the storm will already be moving on shore it is going to make a powerful arrival with heavy downpours and strong gusty winds that will drench the area for the morning commute so the morning commute is going to be slippery and slow in those storms are in pockets of storms will remain with us until midday when the storm starts to break up a little bit but it will still be with us into the late afternoon and early evening hours. we are going to get quite a bit more rain out of the storm and then there is another one coming in tomorrow night into wednesday morning so this pattern is a bit relentless right now. it flood watch remains in effect through tomorrow afternoon as well as a wind advisory through 4 p.m. tomorrow, gusts at their peak will range from 45 to 60 miles per hour tomorrow. overnight low temperatures will be mainly in the upper 40's and then highs tomorrow even in the afternoon as the storm is
