building a better bay area, moving forward, finding solutions, this is abc 7 news. >> a wet wednesday in the area but not quite as bad as the past few days. people remain on edge with more stormy weather expected and the potential for flooding. >> think you for joining us. after seeing much rain we are getting a chance to dry out but the break in the rain will be a brief. >> let's get a first look at the forecast. >> it is going to be one day dry day a sickly take advantage of it tomorrow. atmospheric -- basically take advantage of it tomorrow. as we take a look at live doppler 7 we have one coming through that brought rainfall in

the bay area. it was intense for a few hours. you will notice a few light showers remain near the ukiah area. a little wet out there. we want to take a look at the russian river. flood stage is 32. at 11:00 a.m. tomorrow they are saying it will remain near flood stage but not above its. 28.2 feet. keep an i on that because it is going to rise again this weekend. a flood watch through tomorrow morning. our next storm is a light level one and gets here on friday. as we show you a quick preview, isolated showers lifting out of here. tomorrow is your break and here comes the next round of rain. i will be back with a closer look at how much rain we are expecting. >> thank you. one of the areas hit the hardest has been the north bay. that is where tim johns was this evening where he found people holding up as best they can with

more storms on the horizon. >> i was doing housework and heard a big boom and the ground shake and i felt like there might have been an earthquake. >> a frightening moment for novato resident. after days of heavy storms and never ending rain, a tree or merely creek behind her house -- near a creek behind her house toppled over. >> we are lucky it did not fall this way because it would have hit our house. >> it is not that tree that is worrying her. with the ground so saturated she is anxious about what the future might bring. >> i am so scared because when there is wind here, the wind was so severe. >> the north bay has been hard-hit by the storms recently. two men were found dead inside a home with a tree line on top of the house. near forestville another woman missing was discovered by authorities.

>> we found her cart submerged in about 8-10 feet of water and sadly she did not make its. >> after nearly two weeks of nonstop rain she says she is at her wits end. >> a little break would be good just to feel sick. >> with more rain expected that break might just have to wait. tim johns abc7news. >> across california at the death toll related to the recent storms is up to at least 19 people. at least four of the incidents have been in the bay area. authorities have not said whether the two deaths in a sea ranch are due to the storm. >> trees are falling due to height wind gusts and soil that is oversaturated. the large tree you see here fell on top of a parked vehicle today. some branches close to taking out communities light rail lines.

san francisco fire department is advising residents to call 311 report downed trees and power lines. on the peninsula more than 200 residents have become displaced from back to back storms. residents and belmont have had to leave their homes twice because of flooding. more than 80 residents have damage as flood waters reached up to four feet. many have their bags packed and are living in fear in case the next round of storms brings more flooding. >> this mobile home park is one of the worst impacted. not just the damage done but psychologically, it is hard because people have to leave and come back. >> highway 92 has opened the westbound lane after a 12 inch dip was on the brink of becoming a single. traffic is down to one lane on highway 92 from upper highway 35. >> and the south bay many

residents and crews across santa clara and santa cruz counties are hard at work after so much storm damage. some are waiting for power to be restored following days spent in the dark. our reporter takes a look at everything affected as the rain continues to fall. >> drivers along highway 17 through the santa cruz mountains are met with challenging conditions on a clear day but combined wet weather, winding roads and at this wall of trees and the risk becomes reality. >> branches down >> as bad weather counts, inland areas are not immune to think limits weather impacts. tuesday during heavy downpour, a two car crash on highway 17 resulted in the rescue of a man, woman and dog after their car went 50 feet off the side of the road. >> we need to slow down.

gallery owner in san francisco's north beach spring down an individual has gone viral. the art gallery owned by the man with the hose was vandalized overnight. the head of the san francisco ranch of the naacp is weighing in. >> you cannot ignore race. it involves a white man and black woman. >> in a meeting police chief bill scott clarified the person being sprayed identifies as a man. no arrest has been made but police confirm the incident is under investigation and will be presented to the da. >> the police department will not arrest the man for that without a warrant. is the police department seeking a warrant? >> we will present that for evaluation and see what happens with the district attorney. >> dr. brown says what happened is unacceptable and to the city needs to come together to tackle the homelessness issue that also

believes this. >> i do not think white percent they would have been treated this way. >> she has a son living on the streets of san francisco and says they struggled when it came to trying to get her son help. >> people are not getting things done and communicating well with each other. the police need to communicate with the hr 360, with nonprofits and nonprofits need to communicate with work supervisors. that is not what is happening right now. it is not a good situation. >> dr. brown says he is not looking for an arrest but wants this to be a teachable moment for the man with the hose and city. >> that took me back to the days when, in down civil rights activist.

she won a special election in november to finish out his term. jenkins on a familiar theme, promising to be tough on crime. the san francisco police commission is still meeting at right now discussing a plan to limit traffic stops. the goal of the proposal is to end racially biased traffic stops by police officers. the decision has been pushed back a number of times already. the public was weighing in on this proposal. the meeting started at 5:30. >> the alameda county board of supervisors approved a recount in the mayoral race. after following the election, rank-choice voting gave a candidate and edge. concerns about how votes were counted intensified last month when the alameda county register roy -- registrar

they are considering holding a recount. barbara lee is planning on running for u.s. senate in 2024. she shared her intentions with the congressional black today. lee is going to wait to make a formal announcement. she would be seeking the seat currently held by dianne feinstein. feinstein has not announced whether she will seek reelection. katie porter announced her candidacy. >> back to the weather for the first time in quite a while. we may not be drenched tomorrow. >> you could put your umbrellas away just for a day and then you need them by friday. definitely take advantage. i want to show you the rainfall season to date. definitely pushing everybody up above average. 221% of normal san jose 137%. san francisco 188 percent

work you should be. 24 hour rainfall totals vary from 800s in san jose to over three inches in canfield. -- with all the storms coming through and the ocean getting turned up we have a high surf advisory until saturday morning. we are expecting higher wave heights, 15-20 foot breakers. they will be ringing the risk of rip currents so be careful. look at the next storm. another atmospheric river but the system is lifting northwards. you are going to get a break from the west whether as we head into tomorrow. a few light showers around ukiah. rain snow mix in the sierra, nothing too heavy duty. a winter weather advisory remains up until 4:00 a.m. tomorrow. and becomes a winter storm watch friday through tuesday afternoon
