and a mobile home park was also hit hard with to flood since new year's eve. 236 residents have been displaced county ride -- countywide since the start of the storm. many of them are in shelters and evacuation centers. they leave that san mateo county is one of the worst impacted. >> this area of san mateo county is one of the worst impacted. not because of the damage done but also people having to leave and come back. >> chp officers are noticing concerning signs on the road as well. yesterday morning officers closed out highway 92 after a 12 inch wide dip was on the verge of turning into a sinkhole. local tree services tell us the ground has been so saturated this week that the roots on big

the heavy rain made his car skidded off the highway. >> as you can see trees are coming down all over the bay area because the ground is so oversaturated. in san francisco, the tree you see here fell on top of a parked car. some of the branches came close to taking out the light will -- light rail lines. crews were able to clear it out before it impacted the transit lines. clinics in the south bay in parts of gilroy, they are now submerged and roads are closed because of flooding. a few days ago euless creek swelled and flooded the areas including the home of the original garlic festival. they are still saturated with water. >> it got past the telephone call right here up to about the crack in the road the other day. when you have the atmosphere rivers like we have here and it

just keeps flooding and it fills up fast. it is a massive amount of water. >> santa clara county water says they prepare for more flooding for next week. >> evacuation orders are in effect for monterey residence after the salinas risk -- river continues to rise. according to the monterey sheriff's office it could turn the peninsula into an island. evacuation zones include north of highway 68 to the pacific ocean. authorities say people in the area have to leave immediately. you need to be prepared for what could be the monterey peninsula island. monterey peninsula could become an island again like it did in the 95 blood -- 95 flood. >> people are asked to quickly and calmly and check in with their neighbors. >> the snow impact is looking

on tuesday, they said t homeless individual has refused to move he understands it is an awful thing to do but there are various attempt to help the person who blocked the sidewalk and entryways. the person spent a few days in a homeless shelter and then he gets dropped off back there. it is a difficult situation there. >> a lot of people are upset about the video. many storms have left behind damage and flooding. overnight we see more effects from the gusting wind as a tree fell on top of a car and church in foster city. that is where lena howland is this morning. how does it look? >> high reggie, at this morning, reggie at this point, the wind is still gusting the wind was no match for many of the trees in foster city last night including the one you see behind us. take a look you see the unforgiving tree fell onto a

parked car and a nearby church roof as well. this happened before 11:00 last night. you can the a large tree leaning on the roof of the church. also onto a white jeep cherokee. no word exactly how the tree came down. it was incredibly windy and they do not know if anyone was injured. san mateo data shows 236 residents have been just placed countywide since the beginning -- displaced countywide since the beginning of the store many are in shelters and hotels. at the belmont mobile home park -- more than 80 residents have experienced two major floods. it left the mobile homes filled with more than four feet of water with damaged appliances still a sign of the chaos and uncertainty of what is expected to come with more rain over the next several days. >> here it is soaked on the inside because the more you go toward the wall, the more it is flooded.

transmission power that a eucalyptus tree brought down in san jose. and a 137 foot tower tuesday. one landed on the roof of a restaurant. local businesses cannot do much until the tower is repaired. >> i cannot pay my vendors when they come out i cannot rent checks nothing. our shop is a dungeon. >> workers from other states are helping fix the tower and assisting with other issues in the bay area area no date of when the tower will be fixed. >> the water supply is making its way to water reservoirs. >> the storage right now is still about -- not where they were in 2021 but better than they were in 2022. in context, we have had a deficit because of the drought. we see steve inclines right now in storage and we hope it continues as we see the storms continue to get back to above

focus on is the red of extreme drought encompassing a large portion of california. there is let happens today first of all california has been removed from the extreme drought category. we have seen gains in the bay area it is most no longer in the severe or extreme drought category. most of us have been updated to a moderate drought category. those are huge gains. there are some places and solano county, and extreme eastern portions of alameda where they are the under extreme drought category but we have seen it improved with the rain when it comes to drought numbers. it is a dry day today. we can do storm cleanup but storm prepping because we have more storms on the way tomorrow. waves right now are at around 10 feet but it could reach 20 feet high. on the storm impact scale it is
