6:02 pm
if need be we've already seen substantial flooding around the highway 101 area near highway 25 as we've shown you from droneview 7 earlier this week this area is still saturated with and with more rain expected. tomorrow there is simply no where for to go in the north bay the series of ongoing storms has unleashed more downed trees and mudslides one of which has left more than a dozen people in marin county in need of a new place to sleep tonight abc 7 news reporter cornell. bernard is live in fairfax with their story cornell. yeah. hi alma that mudslide doing a lot of damage. it happened at an apartment complex on the other side of this hill here on a lima road. the fire department says heavily saturated soil likely caused the hill to give way meantime elsewhere in the north bay. trees continue to fall it's a muddy mess at this fairfax apartment complex on a lima road. where a wall of mud came down from an adjacent hillside friday morning filling six units with

mud and debris. the entire building was quickly evacuated. i got woken up this morning by allowed knock on the door. it was the fire was coming down. and i looked outside and it was mud. all over the backyard the county fire department says two of the units have been red tacked 19 residents displayed including lynn and her dogs. so i packed up my dogs. i threw some clothes together. it's sonoma county this massive tree came down over green valley road closing it until cruise could remove it. i thought it was an earthquake at first mike embert from monte rio heard crashing overnight after a small grove of 90 foot bay trees toppled down this hillside now because of the saturation we're getting these slides with lots of trees and hillsides coming down. this time nobody was hurt.
6:04 pm
but mario fire chief steve backsman says with soil so saturated from heavy rains more trees will definitely fall. this is the after effect of all the rain we've had the ground is just spongy and all these trees are like you see they're just completely toppled over the root ball and all just came right up out of the ground. expect to see more of this. oh, we're having more every day. yeah. the nearby russian river is moving fast, but holding steady first responders say it's predicted to reach flood stage by sunday at 34 feet. it'll get about maybe this deep out here then. and we should be all right. get back here in fairf luckily. nobody was hurt in that mudslide. the fire department says another building in the complex has been yellowtag but residents cannot return home until a assessment of the stability of the hillside has been done meantime the marin county office of emergency management helping displaced residents find places to states tonight hotels etc.

6:10 pm
i think it was back in july. perhaps august when noah had predicted that this rain season was not going to happen that we were going to be in another drought year. so we don't know when these atmospheric storms line up. they just you know, they hit us and they hit us hard. so again the these emergency officials may sound redundant, but it could be lifesaving. so sign up for local reverse 911 alerts wherever you may live here in santa clara county. it's scc alerts make an emergency plan with family and friends and have an emergency supply kit again things we hear all the time, but they could be life-saving right now live in san jose zach fuentes abc 7 news right zach. thank you in the east bay. livermore's lake del valle is so full of water the department of water resources started to flood release for the first time in five years. this is what it looks like when water leaves the reservoir at a rate of 3,000 cubic feet per second crews are trying to
