the driver took chp on ages throughout alameda county and ditched the ambulance at oakland. reggie: at least 20 people are no dead from the storms. the white house says president biden is going to visit california this week to survey the damage. the president is expected to visit the central coast thursday. his federal emergency relief has expanded to include 51 of california 58's counties. jobina: a birds eye view o mudslide in berkeley hills. you can see a trail of mud spilling down the hillside and onto the street. crews shutdown part of claremont avenue and alvarado road to clear the road. reggie: new video shows pittsburgh residents getting rested from floodwaters. the water rescue team was called in. they helped one group of people by boat. one driver had to be rescued.

evacuations remain in place for 19 homes. >> the fire department and personnel decided they needed to go door to door and recommend them to evacuate. we knocked on 19 doors on ventura and a a flooding is keeg people from their homes. harbor street is a shutdown. an underground water channel broke saturday in the creek chris descendant. pittsburgh police say to expect harbor street to be closed until tomorrow. jobina: in the south bay, storm damage is blocking a chance to get out and enjoy parks. all of our park is one of those closed for now. alum rock is like a box canyon. privity can cause objects to slide down even in dry conditions. >> our hills are very saturated

landslides across the state since december 30 according to the california geological survey. those areas in blue, there have been a cluster of landslides in the bay area. why is california prone to this? geologists say it is because the state has relatively young mountains. much of the steep terrain is still in motion and covered in loose rocks and soil that can slide away. reggie: crews are assessing and cleaning up storm damage. national recreation area share this photo of an old military structure in san francisco. it slipped out a nearby bluff. the structure tumbled off the cliff yesterday morning, likely because of saturated land. >> we actually did a study to see if we could stabilize instructors, specifically the compositions. it was so prohibitively

a lot of sunshine out there. temperatures topping out in the low to mid 50's. tomorrow we have to talk about some rain returning. we will talk about that in a few minutes. reggie: governor newsom is adding more support for communities affected by storm damage. he signed an order to assist in recovery efforts. california has been in a state of emergency for nearly two weeks. in the east bay, demand has triggered, the sled in berkeley hills. five families have been forced from their homes. lena howland is live with how those homeowners are dealing with this. lena: we are about as close to that neighborhood as we can get. berkeley hills -- we are based at berkeley hills fire department. five homes have been red tagged homeowners were left -- were told to leave over fears of

another mudslide slamming into their homes. yesterday when a wall of mud pushed into a living room of a berkeley hills home. the homeowners at their dog were able to get out safely look that slide is putting other homes in this area in danger. paul chang owns a house below where this mudslide happens. he is one of the five who have been red tagged. >> i am right next to their house. if the money keeps sliding, it will hit my house or david's house. i have tenants who live there and they called and told me they have been evacuated. lena: berkeley fire officials say they are making progress after finding a broken water pipe where the mudslide first started. it is unclear when those red tags might be lifted. officials fear the mud could keep moving downhill in this area.

fire officials say residents of nearby neighborhoods have been warned to be ready to leave in the event this does get worse. reporting live in the berkeley hills area, lena howland. jobina: california's department of water resources is monitoring 21 locations still at risk of flooding in the wake of more storms this weekend. one of those is the salinas river. it is approaching flood stage and expected to crest midweek. the river's flow will be stronger. local flood managers knew the salinas river and in many parts of california will be busy this week. >> the maintaining agencies need to protect and control their levees to look for any damage that may have occurred. and then evaluating long-term repairs that may be necessary. reggie: -- jobina: the sierra snowpack is at epic levels but that could

cause flooding this spring when data snow melts. reggie: in the south bay, reservoirs throughout santa clara county are full. at last check, four reservoirs were spilling. crews have been working to clear debris and blankets throughout the county. one of the most empty -- most of portage jobs will be to draw down the reservoirs to stop this billing. it is unfamiliar to long-term residents. >> i can't remember the last time i saw this. that is why it is such an exciting time. >> it has been so dry that this is exciting. reggie: valley water expects these building at lexington reservoir to stop in the next two days and others in a week or two. this part of the cannot get completely full unless more storms come. so they will be releasing water until the spring. jobina: if you have been struggling with those potholes

out there, it is going to grow. the problem is going to get worse with these stores yet to come. sky 7 captured crews repairing portholes on highway one into redwood city. an average of 600 potholes month, the department says it has already surpassed that number in the first 13 days of this month. our highways are also saturated with potholes. in many cases the cracks were already there and the rain is making it worse. >> we are paying cash -- catch up. a lot of those pavement that got cracked when we did not have money, the water is getting in and the pieces are popping out. jobina: professor john harvey is the director of the uc pavement research center. his team is testing a mixture of materials to help our rose last longer. that includes higher recycled

content and concrete that has lust -- has less cement in it. reggie: while storms have caused damage around the bay area, a silver landing is starting to be through. jonathan young says the storms have brought the presidio watersheds back to life. that includes a new pond on the south side of the presidio. it is expected to last much of the year and will likely be a critical habitat for a frog, a species nearly extinct in the city until it got reduced in the presidio. >> they will start laying their eggs. the first warm night we get, there will be a lot of big messes. they will turn into pit bulls which require water -- into pit bulls which require water -- into tadpoles which require water. reggie: it will provide water for insects and coyotes. jobina: there is some sign of

progress here. highway 37 between highway 101 and atherton is back open. it's close for 24 hours because of flooding. ss t higay connecting --ped and sonoma. caltrans crews say it could take days to about all of the water. >> it is a low spot. it is a road that travels through a marsh. water is always going to want to collect there. jobina: in sonoma county, parts of highway 101 are closed because of flooding. a winery is temporarily closed because of flooding cut off access to it. reggie: in marin county, cleanup continues at his apartment in fairfax. a mudslide damaged it, displacing the people who live there. we spoke to one resident who went to check on his apartment yesterday.

he is living in a hotel. >> my wife and i were in our bedroom. we thought we heard thunder. it was a tree cracking and hitting the apartments back there. reggie: volunteers with the american red cross are helpingyr bay area streaming app. we have the latest forecast and live doppler seven. it is available on fire tv, apple tv, and roku tv. jobina: authorities are searching for two suspects in an attack that left six people dead. that happened in the central california town of goshen south of fresno. among those killed include a 17 euros mother and a six month old baby. campus instigator say two gunmen entered a home and opened fire. authorities do not believe this was a random attack.

reggie: prizes --prices for eggs are skyhigh right now. for weeks we have seen empty shelves at the grocery store. one grocery store says there is no shortage of eggs. gloria rodriguez is joining us in the newsroom. gloria: most of us think there is a shortage. we will tell you about that. the average price for a large dozen eggs in california is $6.72.

this time last year you could get it doesn't for through -- for $3.25. we found one spot where the supply is many. the big ranch in san jose is selling eggs for three dollars a dozen and they'll have all types of eggs om duck to businesse eggs in addition to their wholesale operation, many for less than you would get at a local market. >> they either have dirt that was not able to be washed off or they have a crack on the actual. -- on the eggshell. they are sold a lot cheaper. >> there is no shortage of eggs in the country. there were retailers using eggs as a loss leader, selling them cheaper than the wholesale market.
