>> building a better bay area, moving forward, finding solutions, this is abc 7 news. >> abhorred when i watch the video. i completely broke. >> that was his apology to us a few days ago but tonight he is facing jail time. the video that blew up from controversy is causing this art gallery owner to face a criminal charge. >> we will get to the twist in a moment but first we want to turn your attention to the weather. some brief downpours are hitting now. spencer: this is probably the last storm we will see for a while. we told you it will be fast-moving and it is. you can see it started into the north bay but quickly moved down past the golden and is slicing through the peninsula and parts of the east bay. heaviest downpours over the santa cruz mountains.

the south bay very shortly now. on the exclusive abc 7 storm impact scale this is a level 1 storm. a storm of white intensity and heavy downpours right now so let's take a closer look at the four cased -- forecast animation. basically exit the bay area by 3:00 a.m.. we will have partial clearing by the time the morning commute begins. we will get maybe a quarter inch from this rainfall. what comes next? i will have that seven-day forecast a little bit later. >> thank you. tomorrow president biden will see our storm damage for himself. once he lands, he will get a boots on the ground look at destruction and offer more federal help. more than 500 fema and other federal personnel have been deployed to support the response of the recovery efforts. a reporter with a look tonight

contaminated and needs time to clear up. there are viruses and bacteria in the bay because of overwhelms water treatment plants and storm drains. >> we have lots of fertilizers, pesticides that we apply to our lawns, we have metals coming from industrial facilities. all of that gets washed into the bay every time it rains. >> eastbay mud says it was handling around 650 million gallons of wastewater per day at its peak. on a typical day that number is 50 million. >> a san francisco art gallery owner sprang this unhoused person with a hose after he says he repeatedly asked for her to move. the da is now charging him on that evidence. j.r. stone is following the case. >> move. >> the gallery owner who sprayed it this homeless individual earlier this month was arrested

7 and wave goodbye. this might be the last rain we see for a while in the bay area. spencer christian will be back in a few minutes with your full forecast and the next chance of rain. >> out of jfk airport where there has been another dangerous incident. -- as it was pushing back from the gate this morning. it returned to the gate and no one was injured. five days ago two planes nearly collided at the airport. one of the planes crossed in front of the other as it was getting ready for takeoff area both incidents are under investigation. >> this is an ongoing story we all observes. downtown san francisco struggled to get back on its feet after the pandemic. it is now shown to be dead last in terms of major cities. our focus is finding more about where the slowdown came from and where we are headed and how to get out of this.

jim johnson talked with local business leaders tonight looking for answers. >> another day, another dire economic report card for san francisco. >> there is not a lot of good news for the san francisco economy today. >> a new study showing the downtown corridor ranking dead last in terms of their recovery from the pandemic. behind places such as fresno and bakersfield. bay area council says a lot of it is stemming from the shift to remote work as well as the tech sector getting hit harder than other parts of the economy. major tech companies from around the region recently have shed thousands of jobs after going on hiring sprees during the pandemic. >> they are killing with high interest rates. a venture capital market that has pulled back a bit. investors pulling back a bit. the confluence of all that seems to be san francisco. >> sf currently has

as far away as the east coast. >> it is iconic with a history of it. the truckee river is awesome to see in the spring also. and people are nice and there is lots to see and do here. >> for those making the drive, payson -- patients is urged and always be prepared in case the weather changes. let's check on the weather now. spencer: the rain is sweeping the area sleep through the bay area right now but rather rapidly so it is not going to add too much to our concerns about flooding. you can see it is raining rather heavily in some spots in the south right now. a closer look shows that most of this is light rain but the yellows and oranges indicate areas where we have downpours right now. fortunately they have been briefed and continue to be. on the scale this storm is a level 1 tonight and into a little bit after midnight.

fast-moving cold front will produce mainly light rain with brief downpours. here is the animation starting at 11:30. notice how quickly it sweeps southward and eastward and out of the bay area by about 3:00 a.m.. we will actually have partial clearing going on for the morning commute. we are not expecting much in the way of rainfall totals for the store. it just about ended here. in the south bay it is raining in san jose at the moment but the rainfall estimate there is very low. looking back at a portion of san francisco, where it is 49 degrees. other locations are in the low -- at the golden gate bridge it is still raining very lightly. the pavement is wet but the heavier steady art rain has ended for this location. 43 degrees in santa rosa.
