sunshine, temperatures in the low to mid 50's. we talk about how long this pattern sticks around and a freeze warning, in a few minutes. kumasi: ace train services suspended after another mudslide. the slide hit a train at yesterday morning and almost the exact spot of the slide on tuesday. more than 200 people on board, three had minor injuries. lena howland joining us with the details. >> writers who depend on train to get to work in silicon valley will have to rely on another way the rest of the week. officials say it is not safe to run this after two back mudslides. this is our view from above the mudslide yesterday, almost identical to the scene. writers experienced on tuesday. this left more than 220 passengers stranded on the track for hours before bringing --

before being brought here to the pleasanton station. most folks missed work for the day. three writers also left with minor injuries. here is what and a train spokesperson had to say after canceling service for the rest of the week. >> two slides back to back is a little bit unprecedented for us. one of the things passengers should know is that from the union pacific side as well as the regional rail commission who owns and operates the ace train, the safety of the passengers is our number one priority. as we are assessing the corridor and safety of operations within the corridor, we have the passenger safety at top of mind. we are not going to initialize operations unless we know the corridor is safe. that is our top priority. lena: union pacific says the slide that came directly onto

the train at 5:30 yesterday morning was a direct result of the rainfall. that area has been seeing. these images showing what passengers saw inside after the shocking moment of impact which woke most of them up. ace service is expected to be restored by monday morning but that is something we are going to continue to monitor. we will let you know if anything changes before then. for now live in pleasanton, lena howland, abc 7 news. reggie: president biden coming to the bay area today to see the damage left behind by the recent stories and to see what repairs need to be done. the president will take a helicopter to watsonville to give him an aerial look of the damage. he is expected to visit capitola. >> the president will meet with state responders, local officials and communities impacted by the devastation, survey recovery efforts and assess what additional federal support is needed. reggie: the white house has now

added the federal disaster declaration to include monterey county. leaders are giving an update on the storm damage. they say homes, businesses and infrastructure were significantly damaged. this video shows flooding along the salinas river. a fema expert explains how disaster exploration frees up money to help affected families. >> we can provide funding for lodging expenses for those who may have evacuated their home and went to a hotel. we may be able to provide home repair assistance, home replacement assistance for those who have lost their home totally. reggie: monterey county is working to step up and in person assistance center for home and business owners to access resources. they hope to have that open by this weekend. kumasi: people are being warned to stay out of the bay for at least a few more days because of all the recent rain.

it is likely the water is contaminated and needs time to clear up. the nonprofit sf bay keeper says there are viruses in the bay because of overflowed water treatment plants and storm drains. >> we have fertilizer, pesticides we have applied to our lawns, metals coming from industrial facilities. all of that gets washed into the bay every time it rains. kumasi: east bay mud says peak it was handling around 650 million gallons of wastewater everyday. typically it is around 50 million a day. reggie: king tide is as high as seven feet returning to the bay today. the national weather service says high tide will happen in the morning and early afternoons so look out for minor flooding on streets near the water as well as along beach and park trails. the tides typically happen in december and january. this round is expected to leave

kumasi: new this morning, san francisco police say a drunk driver stole an suv, led officers on a chase and crashed in twin creek, all before crashing down a hill. officers tried to stop a driver who rammed into a marked police car. police say the suspect led them on a chase then drove off the road, landing on another car on garden side drive. the driver was taken to the hospital, condition unknown. new details in that deadly plane crash in nepal. two americans were among the victims. 72 people died when that plane

crashed into a deep gorge. the american victims names have not been released. crews recovered to black boxes from the plane. it is still not clear what caused the plane to go down. across the bay area, car owners are furious as vehicle break-ins and the damage are adding up fast. in west oakland, thieves are seen on video casually smashing carved windows one after the next. this is on wood street around 7:15 in the morning tuesday. abc 7 talked with people who live in two different neighborhoods where three dozen cars had their windows smashed. one man says his window but not -- one man says his window was broken but nothing was stolen. >> unbelievable. the fact it happened during daylight, it is -- in the city. kumasi: a similar scene in san francisco, in the marina, neighbors say someone broke the windows of at least 17 cars.

it happened before a previously scheduled townhome meeting. -- townhall meeting. reggie: debit cards have gone out loaded with about $5 billion of taxpayer money meant for inflation relief. hackers have taken a cut of that. what officials won't say how much. >> the recorded message says have zero balance. that is odd because we have never used it. >> the fraudsters drained these accounts without having the cards in their possession. reggie: some people finding out charges are coming from states like alabama, illinois, texas. money network tells fraud victims it will take up to 90 days to investigate their claims and decide whether they are going to refund that money. bissell recalling some of its

president biden making his way to california to see some of the damage left behind after once he lands he will get a look at destruction and offer federal help. more than 500 fema and other federal personnel have already been deployed to support the response and recovery effort. abc 7 news reporter gloria rodriguez live in the newsroom with more on the president's visit. gloria: air force one will land at moffett field in santa clara county. president biden will make his way to santa cruz county to visit areas devastated by the recent storm. he will be assessing what additional federal support is needed. here is what is on the president's agenda. the president will visit hardest hit capitola village. he will meet with business owners and residents impacted by the storms in capitola. and visit with first responders, state and local officials at a

hard-hit sea cliff state beach. also expected to survey storm damage in other areas via helicopter. the deputy director for santa clara office of emergency management says help is on the way. during a parade of storms, parts of gilroy suffered major flooding on the freeway and surrounding farmland. >> working with the department of agriculture here in the county to identify and assess and deliver resources to farmers impacted in the south county. pres. biden: our heart is with all the families in the communities that are hurting. and a responders. gloria: the president addressed the region this week during the warriors visit to the white house. the president will be accompanied by governor newsom today. abc 7 will be covering this visit and bring you the very latest today. sure to stay tuned for that. reggie: new developments this morning about eight trains.

you will not be able to write any of these trains until next week. two back-to-back mudslides happening in the same place forced ace to stop service. they both happened in niles canyon. abc 7 news reporter lena howland joins us with more. lena: this ace station in pleasanton would typically be backed with writers at this hour rushing to get to work in san jose. but instead as you can see, all around us it is a bit of a ghost town as service has been suspended until monday, leaving these writers grambling to come up they plan b. i want to show you our view from above the mudslide yesterday great almost identical to the scene writers experienced on tuesday. this left more than 220 passengers stranded on the tracks for hours before being brought back here to the pleasanton station, forcing most folks to miss work for the day, and three writers were also left with minor injuries.

arrested -- spraying a man with a hose. he is spraying an un-houseman after he says he repeatedly asked the man to move. he was issued a battery warrant. -- battery arrest. we spoke with him. at first he did not apologize, eventually he offered an apology. abc 7 reached out to get his take after the arrest but so far we have not heard back. kumasi: santa clara waterboard is trying to find out how to help the homeless population after weeks of rain. calling it an invert -- calling it a public and environmental crisis. district and why we are here, why we are trying to do what we are doing, and using
