>> will be making his first appearance in court this afternoon, here at the san mateo hall of justice just two days after a shooting spree at two different farms where he was believed to be targeting his own coworkers. according to court documents, we are learning that the suspect, chunli zhao, made threats another workplace about 10 years ago. he worked with a roommate at age senate as in 2013. the roommate eventually got a temporary restraining order after he tried to suffocate him with a pillow and threatened to use a knife to cut his head off the sheriff's was unable to serve chunli zhao with the court papers. a few months later, the judge allowed the temporary restraining order to expire, but

suspect sometime this morning ahead of his court appearance this afternoon at 1:30. kumasi: there is a growing memorial in half moon bay to remember the victims. people have been stopping by, dropping off flowers, lighting candles. we are curing from the family of a man who was killed. >> as a community, we grieve. that is what the sign behind me says. people have been dropping off flowers and candles. meanwhile, we are learning more about those victims. one man said he heard gunshots because he was doing maintenance with two eventual victims. all victims were of hispanic and asian descent. seven were killed and one person injured at two farms, including one where the suspected gunman worked as a forklift driver.

this man also serves as the half moon bay farmworker program director and says members of his team spent the morning taking goods to the farm sites after the storms. hours later, word of a shooting. jimenez, a farmworker did not answer. >> i asked him, how are you? i heard something happened. he said, yes. there was a shooting. two people are dead. two people shared with us that they had to hide in the porta potty to get away from the shooter. martinez jimenez is it sharing details about their loved ones, killed at concord farms. his brother discarding him as a good person and good coworker who was an admired supervisor.

he said the loss has left the family broken. we are learning more about the violence that day and i told the shooter targeting the victims and shot several of them in the face. reggie: other state leaders to say more needs to be done at the federal level to stop these shootings. california already has some of the strictest gun laws in the country. what are they asking of congress? jobina: they are demanding congress help pass a national ban on assault weapons and other than safety legislation. governor newsom believes mass shootings in the u.s. are directly correlated with the availability of assault weapons and large capacity magazines that allow a shooter to fire many rounds without stopping. the governor expressed frustration during a visit to half-moon bay. >> we can say thoughts and

bay. today the suspect will be facing a judge, accused of killing seven and injuring one. investigators say all the victims were his coworkers and were intentionally targeted and that the suspect had dealt up anger. we are learning more details about the shooting at a gas station in oakland that killed a person. mario navarro has been identified as the victim. three others were hurt in crash connected to the shooting. all of this happened sunday night during a music video recording.
