a fast one coming just a few days after these tragic shootings. he remains in jail, the judge did not grant bail. just the start of the process for justice. >> the last time we saw the suspected shooter it was this video. wednesday is the first time he has been seen publicly since then. julie chow - interpreter only answered when the judge asked them to verify his name. >> there's an awful lot more to learn. >> the district attorney the judge to order no bail for the suspect. the judge agreed. >> under the california constitution, anytime someone is a danger to the community, the court has a right to hold them without bail on any charge. this is the highest number of charges, seven counts of murder. we have not had that and san mateo county before.

single incident in san mateo county's history, why it happened is not clear. >> we do have a feeling on the motive. based on what he has told us. i am not going to that. >> wagstaff did not add much more on the actions will be taken moving forward, but he will be giving a chance for the defense attorneys to prevent -- present evidence, as well as the possibility of mental illness being a factor. >> we have so many things ready to learn. >> this possibility of life in prison without parole or the death penalty. over the next few months they will be deciding whether or not to go ahead and try to pursue the death penalty, now that his attorneys have been accounted his next appointment will be right back here. abc 7 news, zach fuentes. >> as we mentioned we know the names of all seven people killed

in monday's shooting and half moon bay. 66-year-old jean june 43-year-old gate out bain, josé romero perez, and we do not have his age, was a's brother pedro was also shot. he survived. 50-year-old marciano hernandez martinez. -- -- humanist martinez. >> we are not getting a clear picture of how the deadly shootings unfolded. abc 7 news 19 reporter stephanie sierra is in the newsroom with more on that. >> according to several sources, victims identified tonight were killed execution style and what has been described as an intentional, gruesome attack. sources also tell the suspect was taunted with an offensive nickname that investigators say may have fueled his anger leading up to this attack. >> chilly new details confirmed

how the suspect julie shout -- zhao chunli targeted latino farmworkers and their families. all reportedly in an ongoing feud. >> i never thought this was something that would happen in half moon bay. >> shout allegedly had an argument with a coworker on the first mushroom farm, where many workers lived in trailers. he was reportedly complaining about a situation where he was treated unfairly, but a coworker dismissed his concerns. a short time later, julie found the coworker he was upset with inside a greenhouse on the farm and allegedly shot him and another colleague. >> they were killed with purpose with intent. execution child -- style. the man then went on the farm where his coworker lived and allegedly killed his wife.

sources say the shooter then walked to the trailer of another coworker living on the grounds and killed him execution style in his sleep. another farmworker was in the trailer and was also shot. in the moments that followed, the i.t. first responders witnessed the shooter laid around to collect 20 in the afternoon, and a few miles down the road to the second shooting location, concord farms, off of highway farms in half moon bay. sources tell the i team that the shooter walked past other workers and pulled out his gun to shoot and kill two former core workers -- coworkers and their wives. >> our job is to try to figure out all of the factors that went into this and make sure that it doesn't happen again. >> investigators say work place conditions have rates -- raised some concerns. gavin newsom hinted at that in a press conference. >> you should see why these folks are living, the conditions they are living in.

in shipping containers. >> sources also could -- thomas the shooter has been unhappy with management on these farms for quite a while, and we have been digging into the ownership history for both. over the past couple of days, the sheriff's office identified that first should location as mountain mushroom farm. but state records show the company's license was terminated back in 2017, and ownership has since changed hands. investigators are looking into it. stephanie sierra, abc 7 news. >> relatives of the shooting victims are trying to process the tragedy, abc 7 news reporter spoke to family members of three of the victims. >> still processing, this meant described the moment he called his cousin's wife and kids to tell them josé had been killed. >> i couldn't believe it.

they were saying, why are you saying this, this is a lie. rena say he was shaking as he tried to understand the words that were coming out of his mouth. recently his cousin josé romero perez took this photo to send to his family in mexico. he leaves behind for children. >> for you josé was not a cousin, who was like a brother. >> you guys work together. -- go up together. their coworkers describe the nightmare at the farm. >>'s coworker saw him getting shot. >> pedro survived and remains hospitalized. his coworkers told you that he had been hurt, and that he had been taken to the hospital.

martinez, he worked at the concord farms for 26 years. his brother said he was a supervisor who left his job. they were planning to meet as a family -- left his job, they were planning to meet as a family this weekend. >> you're so tr this and you still do not understand why this happened. questions why his brother was killed, even. assignments and seeing police officers on monday, and having a feeling that marciano was gone. you felt a knot in your heart that he could not get rid of, and that is the feeling that you are saying was persistent and what told you that your brother was one of the victims. he tried calling marciano hoping it was not true. he tried calling and texting him and he never got back to you.

>> tragedy today at a san francisco apartment building, one person was killed in a fast-moving fire that broke out before noon at the missouri terrace on co-chair hill. some 50 firefighters worked to put out the fire that was concentrated in a low grade unit, steep narrow streets and lots of wires made it tough to extinguish the flames. no word yet as to how many people were displaced, and the fires under discussion. >> soma was shot and onto robbery this morning, it happened at 11:00 a.m. on south winchester street in capitol. we do not know anything about the victims or their condition other than that they were taken to the hospital, cable police are searching for several
