>> we have reaction to the video and the praise memphis authorities are receiving today from nichols' emily. -- nichols' family. >> we have been hearing from officials about how would be. people have been drawing comparisons to rodney king and george floyd. shocking video came out in four different parts and featured police body camera footage and surveillance video that shows in great detail the moments after a police officer pulled over nichols' vehicle. nichols ran away after being traffic stopped, estop the police chief called into question. officers later apprehended him the video has sparked protests including one in the bay area with several more expected to take place across the weekend. nichols' mother has praised

exposed key security flaws. let's start with u.s. capitol police. there are surveillance cameras capturing david to pappy -- david depape walking straight on the property. he described it to an sfpd investigator. him strike the glass window 16 times before physically using his body weight to break in, yet, no one was monitoring the cameras at the time, and the i-team learn when the glass broke, the home did not have the proper upgrades in place that would immediately notify capitol police. paul police subtly hinted to the 911 operator. >> they are usually here at my house protecting my wife. >> this is san francisco police. >> but it took several attempts to make it clear there was a threat.

came into the house and he wants to wait for my wife to come home. >> the i-team learn there was no formal agreement between capitol police and sfpd at the time of the attack to address security concerns involving the former speaker and her immediate family. despite the fact the agency's department strategic plan requires these partnerships to exist to address how joint cooperation will be handled, but none of that happened. capitol police was only aware of the threat until after the initial break in and the 911 call. fathers, they fought the british, they fought the tierney. they did not give in to it.

dan: tribute continue tonight following monday's tragic mass shootings as some family members of victims are visiting the site where their loved ones were killed. me right now. it started at 5:00 this afternoon. loved ones of the victims came together at the sites where their loved ones lost their lives. family members helped out by translators as they think their supporters through tears.

some of the support received the families coming from the san francisco archbishop, who went with them to both the mushroom farm >> i must say i'm very happy to see how the community has united arounde givingthe moral support but also the practical, financial support, but also to see the love of t affected, even to the point of extending forgiveness to the one who took their loved ones away from them. >> some of that forgiveness clearly on display as families address the people gathered around them at the shooting sites. >> >> i ask god to forgive him for taking his life away.

ama: we are still in this sunny pattern. dan: it has been lovely. sandhya: it will be cooler and chillier in the coming days, so get used to the idea. i want to show you the temperature change. putting much everyone down roughly five to 10 degrees. it is nine degrees cooler in san francisco and santa rosa right now. onshore wind, return of the fog, all driving those temperatures down. notice that fog is sitting right near the coastline. we have also been seeing higher clouds passing up above the fog layer, but all of this resulted in a cool down today, and that

looking at mid 50's to barely making it to 60 in san jose. breezy conditions, a mix of sun and high clouds, and then we have a light, level 1 system on our impact scale, borderline level 1, scattered showers expected, slippery roads, breezy conditions. the main impact with the system coming in is going to be the slippery roads, so just take it easy out there if you have sunday plans. as we go hour-by-hour, nine :00, some spotty showers. this is moisture starved, so we are not expecting a whole lot out of it, but certainly still very scattered in nature. notice a few showers are possible at 6:00 p.m., seeing some pockets of brief, moderate showers, so keep that in mind sunday night. rainfall estimates will range from .01, .02 to about .2 of an inch. this does turn to snow in the mountains.

dan: good evening, once again. protests are taking place across the country right now in response to the release of the body camera video in the tyre nichols case. ama: it shows the confrontation that led to the death of nichols. protests have already begun in parts of the country including here in the bay area. dan: here a look at people gathering on market street just a while ago. nichols' family has called for peaceful protest to express the justified outrage over what the video shows. >> we want peace. we do not want any type of uproar. we do not want any type of disturbance. we want peaceful protest. ama: all five officers involved have been fired and have been charged with murder and other related charges. they have all been released on

bond. dan: today marks six months since this violent reaction to sandra -- violent reaction of san rafael police to a gardener enjoying a beer with his friends after work. >> we have word that the gardener and his lawyers have oiled a claim against the city of san rafael. dan: our viewers have be asking for an updated and here it is. the gardener still does not want us to use his real name. it turns out his injuries were more serious than first thought. lawyers for matteo till the team the hands of two police officers was so egregious the city of san rafael should pay. >> there's no way that's necessary under any circumstance. >> july 27 of last year, a gardener told officers that he and his friend like to have a beer along this remote stretch after a long day of work.

emotional distress, and their bosses of failure to properly screen and hire, failure to properly train, supervise, and discipline. a spokesperson for the department told me he had no comment on the claim and that their internal investigation is still underway and that the officers remain on paid administrative leave six months later. >> the fact that they have not been able to come to a conclusion that is pretty obvious to anyone who has seen those videos is pretty concerning. >> he still cannot quite prosecutors filed felony resistance charges against matteo before looking at the video. once that happened, the case was dismissed. the district attorney tells me the case is still under investigation and review for possible criminal charges against the officers. >> right now, we don't know if these officers are going to be held accountable professionally or criminally.

ama: updating our top story, this is video in from san francisco showing protesters gathered at howell and market street to express outrage over the killing of tyre nichols by tennessee police. there are protests happening nationwide right now, and we understand the san francisco crowd is now marching through downtown to the civic center.

dan: today, the fda proposed new rules that would ease blood donation restrictions for gay and bisexual men. the rule would allow men in same-sex, monogamous relationships to begin donating even if they have not abstained from sex. questions will be used to verify numbers of partners, and partners' history will be used. any change will come after a public comment period. experts believe it will help address blood shortages and remove stigma around gay men. ama: another planet entertainment previous plan to tear out the fixed orchestra level seating and now wants to install motorized pouring to make different sitting and standing available. a spokesperson says it is the only way to keep the theater open. not everyone is convinced.

to talk about the proposed renovations. dan: we are getting a first look at a pricey toilet that will be installed this summer. two companies, including one called public restroom company, are donating this modular restroom. the project was supposed to cost $1.7 million. the donation is bringing that cost down significantly. the recreation and park department still has to dish out $300,000 for other costs like landscaping design, permits, and environmental reviews. with leftover money from a state grant, san francisco plans to add other bathrooms. >> it is really nice to have a bathroom here where it bunch of senior citizens who hang out on thursdays and have a little chat group -- >> you gotta go, right? >> you gotta go. >> public restroom company is not allowed to sell this
