mathis president tyre nichols. protests have been taking place in response to the violent traffic stop, with one underway in oakland right now. here's a look at open city we are getting that video for you. you can see the turnout, there. it is a bit hard to see, what is expected to be a big event tonight. congress, today, is condemning what happened. here is a abc7news reporter with reaction from national lawmakers. >> outrage continues to grow across the nation as protesters call for systemic police reform following videos showing a violent beating -- the violent beating of tyre nichols. congressional lawmakers from both sides of the aisle cold and got wrenching. >> it was horrible, inhumane. we need a national conversation about policing in a responsible and humane way. >> top republicans question

the five fired officers face second-degree murder, aggravated assault, aggravated crimes. attorneys for two of the officers and state their clients tend to plead not to they urge caution and patience in judging these actions. abc has reached out to justin smith and the other officers, but have not heard back. the abbotts kapok -- skateboarder and father, tyre nichols, will be remembered this wednesday. the officers will be arraigned next month say. abc7news, memphis. >> we are hearing more from their family attorney about other incidents with these officers that may have contributed to this decision. here is what he told martha raddatz this morning. >> when a young man assaulted just four or five days before tyree was killed simply going to get pizza, martha, he said they attacked and pulled

already shot multiple people at a dance hall in winter park. he was on his way to a second location when he ran into brandon. because of his heroism, president biden has invited brandon to attend the state of the union address in washington dc, next month. individual will get underway in just a few minutes in the south bay to honor the victims of monterey park as well as similar incidents in the bay area. the vigil is being held at san jose city hall, and remember it's of the attacks in half moon bay and oakland, as well as monterey park. seven people died when a disgruntled farmworker opened fire in half moon bay on monday, the same day a teenager was killed and several others injured by gunfire during the recording of a music video in east oakland. the sacramento metro fire department says a test -- test was vehicle battery compartment spontaneously caught fire while the car was moving at freeway speeds. take a look at this video that the department tweeted, you can see firefighters pouring water

see los down to the mid-30's. tomorrow, under sunny skies and breezy conditions, it will be chilly, even in the afternoon. high temperatures reach only into the low 50's. only up to about 50 in antioch and livermore. the warmest spot, two or three of them, actually. thus will hit 55 degrees, all of those locations will be under 55 degrees. here the accuweather 7-day forecast. we have two very cold warnings coming our way, tomorrow and tuesday. wednesday will still be mostly sunny, rather chilly, not quite so cold as monday and tuesday morning. class increase, friday there is a chance of slight rain, not yet for us to rank it on the storm index, clouds will linger on saturday, and then said they will have a slight chance of rain. we will keep watching those systems to see if they develop into anything significant. right now it looks like cloudy skies weekend. >> spencer, i will give you

>> finally tonight, a police officer in australia has learned a valuable lesson. law enforcement is one thing, but leave animal control to the experts. the officer was caught trying to subdue a crocodile with a large towel. it didn't go so well. look at that crock snapped violently at the towel. the police tried using equipment for catching stray dogs that didn't work either, and they called it a local wildlife expert. they were able to internalize the crocodile, get in safely to
